Puzzled by Heart Rate

Hi everyone!
I'm 6 weeks pg at this point and have been working out consistently. I've dialed everything back (since I'm finding it harder and harder to get through my "old" workouts) and making sure to keep an eye on my heart rate and temp.

For years I've been working out first thing in the morning. I get up at 4:30, knock out my workout for the day and I'm set.
For the last 2 weeks, I've found that this same routine is not working. For some reason, my when I go first thing in the morning, my heart rate SKYROCKETS with the very first step I take, and I overheat very quickly...it's not something that I can get control of by taking a break or walking it out either. I battle this for the whole workout, and inevitably have to quit early or get less out of it.

However, if I do the EXACT same workout later in the afternoon (when I get home from work), I can get through it with no problem, everything's in normal range and I have plenty of engery for it.

Has anyone dealt with this? What's the story?
I'm really annoyed that I have to do this after work at this point. I really prefer to get it out of the way first thing in the morning...

wow, that is really interesting! congrats on your pregnancy. i hope you are otherwise feeling well. i am at about the same point in pregnancy as you with number 2. i too am and early exerciser but have not experienced the heart rate thing - i can continue with my reglar workouts and am just a little more tired. and very very nauseous. for some reason, your body seems to be telling you to take things down a notch. perhaps you could try just a walk in the early am or a very low impact exercise and see if that works.

how is everything else going? hope to hear more from you soon.

Yeah, I can't figure this one out at all. I can't see a physical reason for it.

I've taken my step down to just the board, no risers, and I'm doing things like Basic Step, the latest Low Intensity cardio, etc...

It's really frustrating. I want to continue working out, because it really does give me more energy and I think is a large part of the reason that I have not been sick at all. But afternoons are going to be a problem.
