Push-pull/Supersets DVD

I have the body blast series on video, but am considering getting this dvd just to have more options with the premixes. Do many of you use these that way (use the premix workouts instead of just doing the workout as it is designed)? I am looking to have more options for weight workouts than I have now. Also, what is the "workout blender" that these dvd's have? Do the hardcores have this also?

Hi Edie. I don't have SS/PP though I have seen enough of it on FitTV. Actually, the full version of PP is on FitTV because it is only about 45 min. I have done them just as is but I am sure they would be great to mix w/ other routines. The workout blender is specific to the bodyblast series that combines sections of 2 different routines to make one unique workout. It is an awesome feature on all her bodyblast discs! The hardcores do not have it. I think this disc would be a great addition to spice up a routine or to take a bit of a lighter day. Just my 2 cents.

I also have BB on VHS, but I do have the PP/SS DVD and I love the premixes!!! I haven't used the workout blender yet. Not sure what other series have it. I am sure someone knows...I'll give you the premixes from this DVD:

Thanks for the info!! Actually, I think it was you, Carole, who mentioned that you use the lower body premixes in your feestyle training?! I know somebody mentioned it!! I'm looking for something a little bit lighter and more variety than the gym styles, etc, for my legs, and this sounded like a good idea. Very difficult to do with the VHS, however!!!;-)

Edie...very well could have been me as I have used the premixes of the Lower Body work on PP and SS alot for freestyle...:)...I do also have a DVD/VHS player so that does help out...:)...Carole

I use the premixes alot they make the workouts tougher.I love pp 3 times thru it is my favorite upper body workout of all my cathe's.And the leg one is a killer.ss premixes are also good -I do ss alot as is.It is really fun.

I like using the upper body premixes on these workouts. Doing the upper body segments 2 or 3 times gives a nice upper body workout.

The workout blender is a feature that only the BB series has (perhaps because it may have caused some problems on some peoples DVD players). You can choose a certain number of segments (from one workout only, I think, but I'm not sure) then hit "play," and they will play in order for a full workout.

Many of Cathe's DVD's have a "mix-and-match" feature, which is similar to a workout blender, but not as convenient, IMO. You choose the segment you want to do from a menu, then when that segment is done playing, you're sent back to the menu to choose another segment if you want. Not bad for weight workouts, because the pause gives you some recovery time, but not too convenient for cardio workouts.
