Pure Strength Series Question

Cathe,

I am new to your tapes, I have Cardio Kicks and just love it, I am thinking about using your Pure Strenth series, and had a few questions (sorry in advance if these are much repeated questions!!).

1.) How do you rotate this series? Do you just keep doing one tape after the other(one tape each day), or do you alternate each PS day with a cardio day?

2.)I do not own a barbell yet (maybe "santa" will bring me one!), is it okay to do this series with dumbbells until I get a barbell?

3.) How do you add cardio to this rotation, or do the tapes get your heartrate up enough to be considered cardio workouts also?

Again I apologize if these questions have been repeated over and over again, but I am not very computer literate, plus this computer of mine seems to freeze up everytime I try to do a search for something...sometimes I wonder if its my computer or if its just me doing something wrong!!!

Hi Bonne :) As you can see I'm not Cathe but I've been on a PS rotation for 3 weeks and I'm gonna try to answer your questions and cross my fingers hoping that Cathe will have something to say too even though we all know she's a busy superwoman (HEHE!)

Answers:

1. What Cathe says about the PS series is to not train bodyparts more than twice a week so you could use each one of the videos once or twice a week. The important thing is to allow your muscles to rest at least 48 hrs when using the PS Series.

2. About the barbell. Somebody posted that same question recently sorry I couldn't find it, but what Cathe said is that most exercises can be done with dumbbells. However, in my opinion it's easier to lose your form with dumbbells so you might need to buy a barbell in the future.

3. I'm pretty sure about the answer to this one cause I know those PS videos by heart. During the video Cathe is constantly stretching and moving side to side after perfoming most of the exercises because she wants us to get our heart rate down. The PS series is not designed to get our heart rate up. Of course, the exercises are pretty hard and you might get your heart rate up while doing them, but as soon as you finish a set you have to get that heart rate down because as Cathe says if you get your heart rate too high you won't be able to focus and you might lose your form. As for how do you alternate the series that depends on the results that you want. If you're trying to lose weight the tapes BBA and CST are short enough to add a cardio session before or after the video. BBA is 42 mins and CST is 37 mins. But you can also alternate strength and cardio days if that's what you prefer and if you're not trying to lose weight.

I hope this is helpful.

Thanks Rose11!

You answered my questions perfectly, I really appreciate the time you took to answer ALL of my questions! That really helps me out a lot, I think I will be getting these videos!

Thanks again,
Bonne
