Pure Strength Question

Cathe,
I just recently started working out again and my goal is to add as much muscle as possible to lose weight. I have been concentrating on doing tapes that build muscle. Right now I am working out with Cathe's Pure Strength Series. I am doing Pure Strength Legs and Abs one day and combining the Pure Strength Chest/Shoulder/Triceps with Pure Strength Back/Biceps and Abs the next day ( I combine both Volume 2 & 3). That way I work out on different body parts on consecutive days. I have difficulty building muscle therefore I thought if I do these tapes 3 times a week instead of 2, I would build it faster. My concern is that Cathe suggests to only work out twice a week on these tapes and I am working out 3 times a week because of the way I split them. Do you guys think I am going to run into any problems? Does my body need more than 1 day to recover?

Most guidelines for building muscle recommend working out as heavy as you can, then allowing plenty of time for the muscle to rebuild. I think hitting each muscle group three times a week is too much for this goal. Do you find that you are not increasing your weight, or that you are even having to use lighter weights, or having more trouble finishing sets by the third go-round? This would definitely be a sign that the muscles haven't had time to repair, and thus grow.
