Puppy slipper attack - cautiously optimistic

Giving a loud "NO!" to my puppy Buster when he's attacking my slippers has not been working. Pushing him off and giving a loud "NO!" to my puppy has not been working. It just gets the corgi going and that makes an annoying situation very tense.

Well, today he was going for it again. Cricket came into the room and started yelling at him, I'm pushing him off, giving him a "NO!", watching him fight the whole time...and then...I just pushed him out of the room and shut the door. He couldn't hang out with me anymore. I let him sit in the hall for about 30 seconds or so, let him back in and he was all sunshine and lollipops again. Calm, docile, not going near my purple fuzzies. He got lots of praise and kisses. Then he licked my mouth. BLEAH!

I think that may be the key to this dog - time outs. I'm cautiously optimistic. It's too cold in Western NY to give up slippers yet.

Don't know if this would work. I saw a trainer put pennies in a small container. Everytime the puppy would do an unwanted behavior, he would shake the can which would frighten the dog.

Not tremendously frightening, but enough to make the dog stop! Don't know if it actually works, though!
