hello all... i am having a party where 12 people are bringing their signature dish... what should i serve for beverage (easy please)-- some like alcohol some don't.thanks

The baby shower I was just at had some tasty punch. It was pomegrante (not spelled right) juice, ginger ale, white grape juice, and I believe cherry juice. It was kept cold with frozen berried floating in it. Looked to be a mix of blueberries, raspberries, and black berries. There was some diced apple floating in it, too. There were bottles of champange on the side for those who wanted to add alcohol to it. I think any fruit juice combo w/ ginger ale or lemon lime soda and some berries floating in it would be tasty and look pretty. Just keep the booze (whatever kind) on the side.

Hi...have you thought about a coffee punch? I've made it for parties before. There are TONS of recipe variations online (I just Google coffee punch), but it involves some variation of cold coffee and ice cream, with cinnamon, nutmeg, etc. I know you said some like alcohol and some don't...don't know if the same goes for coffee. :) Jonezie

I used to specialize in my own amazing recipe for punch when I was a banquets supervisor at a hotel, many moons ago. Alas, I no longer remember it. Here's one that would shock people, anyway (it's more a smoothie than a punch though!):

  • Rum or vanilla vodka - lots!
  • Frozen blackberries/raspberries
  • Chocolate or vanilla whey protein isolate powder
  • Ground flax seed

Use a good blender or smoothie machine. It's incredibly yummy and has a lot of redeeming qualities to it. A bit thick for a punch, but hey, they'd get their protein, fruit and Omega 3s all with a kick!

Isn't that your post-workout drink? :D
