Protein Grams ?

OK I read somewhere, can't remember where now but I thought I had heard you should eat as much protein as your body weight..... so if I am 135 pds. I am to eat 135 grams of protein ? Well WW wise, that would be an awful lot of points wouldn't it ? yikes!

Anyway I am wondering if anyone knows of a food list with protein grams listed.

Hi Laura,

The web site www.fitday.com lists the nutritional contents (including protein) of lots of foods. It's a pretty good database.

From the reading I've done, the amount of protein an individual needs is based on body weight and activity level. The number I've seen most often for the "average" adult is 0.8g per pound of body weight. Unfortunately, nobody gives a definition of what "average" is. Sorry if I made it more confusing ;-) .
