Protein Bar

What's the most 'healthy' nutrition bar to get your protein in, as far as least amt of sugar, fat, useless or non-beneficial ingredients. Also, any one with the same conditions that may be a meal replacement bar.

Sometimes I just cannot eat after I work out. It's usually 8pm and I would prefer a meal replacement bar.

I haven't eaten protein bars in quite a while but I always liked Think Thin and also Atkins has one that is high in protein & fiber but also low in Sugar. It's choc/PB, very tasty IMO

If you don't care about a "natural" label, then Pure Protein has a good one.. Their Chocolate Peanut Butter one is a good bang for the calorie.
200 calories, 20 gms protein. It does have sugar alcohols in it too.

Chef Jay's protein cookies and meal replacement bars are pretty tasty, but not necessarily alot of protein for the calorie. I love their Oatmeal Raisin protein cookies.. about 300 calories for two cookies and 22 gms of protein. These taste by far the closest to the real thing that I've found yet for that amount of protein/calorie ratio.

I try to stay away from alot of the bars that are supplemented w/ additional vitamins and minerals... they always taste more chalky and artificial.. Metrix is the first one that comes to mind when I think of these.

Take care, Lynn M.

Just a personal preference for me, I like to have a whey shake blended with milk and ice after late workouts. I just don't like the taste of any of the bars I have tried.
