Proper diet

I have been trying lose body fat and increase my muscle tone. I work out 6 times a week, 5 days cardio and weight training 3 days a week. I have been trying to work up the proper diet to help me get better results, but with all the information in books I have read, viewed on websites and TV, it is a little hard to figure out what is the right choice. Please help.
 
Hi Pam - I'm not Cathe, but I recently lost 50 lbs. and have kept it off for the last year. I've also been trying to lose more body fat and have been getting some advice from trainers and fitness competitors. Everyone seems to agree the best way to reduce body fat is to focus on lean protein (fish, chicken, egg whites), veggies, some fruit and whole grains. Eating 5-6 small meals per day is recommended, and above all, eat foods as close to their natural state as possible. Avoid processed foods, sugar, white flour, etc.
