PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION: AUGUST "GO FOR THE GOLD"

Can I join you?

Good morning ladies! I am writing to let you know I have just finished reading the entire first Beginner Rotation thread you all started last year, as I am doing a shortened version of the rotation myself right now and I have to admit...I have completely fallen in love with all of you!

Your attitudes are awesome, I am so so happy to see that you are all still pretty much hanging in there...I know I have some more reading to do to catch up to the present.

My name is Andrea, I'm 41 and work nutty hours in a hospital lab. I have two big doggies and a husband to take care of!

I am doing two weeks instead of three of each three week section. I have done Cathe in the past to some extent, am a DVD and equipment buying junkie, love to eat well and drink lots of water but love to snarf down an entire container of sea salt dark chocolate caramels as well along with half a pizza ;) I'm thinking I would fit in? ha ha!

Today I have a dog walk to get in, about 3 miles, then the dentist for a cleaning and then Body Fusion and Stretch Max.

Can't wait to get to know you all better!

Welcome, Andrea!! You sound like you could be my twin sister, similar age, job, "children", and indulgences hehe! Yes we are a small group, but have hung in there. I'm so impressed that you have read the year long posts!! I like the no pressure attitude here. FnV is always keeping me reminded to eat my veggies ;) Glad to have you, it's always good to hear others' perspectives on things.

I'm taking a rest day today, kinda sore and feel tired, but plan on doing DeltaFit workout C tomorrow morning before work!

Yes Stacy I was thinking you and I seem to have a lot in common! :) You have probably mentioned your *kids*, what do you have? Maybe I haven't read that far yet.

I haven't read the whole year (yet!) just the first thread from August to November. You all just captured my imagination, with at first what Deanna and Susan were going through with their hatred of the tubing (which I share!!!!!!) and your battles at work with long hours, frustration, negativity, but still getting your workouts in; FnV's sage advice and homework struggles (I started back to school last year but decided I was just past my prime! Too hard to go back!).

Deanna- I LOVED reading about your transformation. LOVED imagining you and your son doing insanity workouts together, LOL, and sympathized about the heat...good lord it's been the hottest, dryest summer ever here in Kansas City and it's been a real bugaboo for me. I HATE THE HEAT.

Is Susan still around? I hope so!

I just finished Body Fusion. I can almost do it nonstop, but not quite yet. I sweat like a lil piggie for sure! I also did Stretch Max. The whole time I'm thinking to myself...giggles...I need to start Laundry Max and Cleaning Max when I get done...

I'm so excited for cooler weather to start showing it's pretty face so I can whip up some SOUP!!!!

I also laughed today, looking at my DVD collection, I have probably 25 Cathes and like Deanna said once at the beginning, I'M ONLY USING ONE. That will change soon :) OOOH! I am lucky, the </title> <style type="text/css"> </style> <script src="SpryAssets/SpryMenuBar.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript"> </script> <script src="Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js" type="text/javascript"></s website where you can get the Troy barbells and all kinds of other equipment from bands to steps to medicine balls to dumbells in one pound increments? Their warehouse is actually only 5 minutes from my house, I just give them a call and tell them what I want, pull up to the door and it's there for me! No shipping fees or waiting! so yeah, I've got all that!

Allright...off to do Laundry Max! (makes it much more fun to think of it that way!)

Hey, I'm doing "Laundry Max" too, how funny! Cool about the fitness warehouse being so close to your house! If you ordered salted caramels, will they be there for you to pickup??

Hi Andrea, and welcome. It will be fun to have anther poster. I agree, we are all very supportive of each other, but I think that is pervasive throughout cathenation! Actually, I think we have to be careful to walk the line between supportive and co signing one another's bull****!
Susan's been MIA for awhile. : (
Deanna hasn't been around much lately but I'm hoping she's at least lurking and building up momentum (and feeling well).
We can totally support you in dvd and workout stuffles addiction!
I've lived in OKC so I can relate to KS. I have a friend on the 40s thread who also lives in KS, I don't think she likes the heat either.
I take dance class at least once a week, sometimes run/walk, and do mostly cathe's but have a few others in my pile. Lately I've been emphasizing metabolic/circuits/hiits and cleaning up my food. I'll keep on with that and do a little more strength after I get to my wt goal, about 5 more pounds.
Have a great Friday^^

ETA ha ha, I am getting used to new fall schedule where I have Thurs off from school, not Fridays. I'm glad you noticed, I'd probably forget to go to class tomorrow morning.

It's still just Thursday right?

...LOL...but I will try to have a great Friday as well :)

Good start to the day today. Got up and realized I was out of coffee, ran to the store and got some, filled up hubby's car with gas, took the monsters for a three mile walk, did good 'ol Basic Step with 8 inch risers, and stability ball abs...now it's chill out and have my coffee time!

I plan on doing intervals of laundry max and a cleaning max circuit (10 min vacuuming, 10 min putting laundry away, 10 min decluttering, 10 min swiffering, 10 min dishes, 10 min quick mopping kitchen floor...you get the idea) today. I am currently on weekend option at work but will be going to full time M-F soon so I am working a couple extra shifts per week to get used to the idea of working full time, but I'm off today and tomorrow :)

FnV- love that, support or cosigning on the bull****...too funny. It's supposed to be near 100 again today, and I think we've had a whole 1/3 of a inch of rain since June. Gaaaahhhh. Hopefully Mr. isaac will hang onto some of that rain in his belly and we'll get some this weekend.

My goals...right now my goals are to get accustomed to getting up early enough to get my workouts in before work. Not really a problem as on weekends I have to be there at 4 am so I'm used to getting up at evil times of the day. When I transition to weekdays I won't have to be there until 7 am. I just know if I don't do it before work, it will be hard to get it in later as I consistently have to take a nap when I get home, that place just drains me! Also I am working on eating less processed foods, as I used to. This past year the hubby and I have gotten into kind of a bad habit of eating processed foods fairly often. The good thing is, he can't have MSG so that does limit our badness a bit.

Breakfast was a whole grain bagel, light strawberry cream cheese, and a banana. After workout snack was an apple. Thinking about making shrimp and chicken jambalaya tonight...lots of veggies packed into that.

OK......Deanna I hope you are still hanging around and feeling good! I'm drinking my water! 60 oz already today!

Stacy- I see you like college football, as do I...I went to Kansas State, the Wildcats are my team...how about you? I'm so excited for the season to start! Now I'll get even less sleep on my weekends :(

Today I did some errands on my bike, not too much of a workout, but it felt good to be outside riding. Well, there was that one guy who was going right on red and didn't yield to me and also honked at me, so I flipped him off, but other than it was good. : )

This eve I did a 25 min walk run/ did a dance class and then did a 25 min jog back to starting point.

How was Circuit Clean?

Have a good Friday, TOMORROW, lol.

Don't you hate how there is always one person/dog/situation to ruin a nice outing? Seems like every dog walk is perfect save for that one incident with the dude that has a doberman a couple of streets over or something similar...

Circuit clean became Vacuum Max. I bought a Dyson a couple of months ago and started vacuuming cobwebs in my basement, turned into a couple of hours of extreme cobweb patrol but it's lovely down there now!

Today was supposed to be that darn UB/LB Add on with the tubing. I just couldn't do it. I opted instead for Supersets since I was doing that warm up anyway and I'm so glad I did! Had a great workout.

Did you make it to class today? ;)

Thursday I did a DeltaFit workout before work, I'm enjoying these workouts so far. I'm thinking of ordering 1 or 2 Horizontal Conditioning workouts. Tomorrow going to the game to cheer on my Buckeyes!! Have a good weekend everyone!
