Yeah, I know what you mean about it be disconcerting to gain mass so quickly, but the minute conception occurred, our whole bodies went into growing mode; every part of our system is now making baby-growth it's number one priority. Pretty cool, if you think about it. We're creating a whole new human being, but don't have to actually think about it; our bodies are doing it all for us. I know that my eating and exercise has remained very healthy and more than adequate prevent any unnecessary weight gain. So, I'm just going to trust that these changes are what my body needs to do its job. And yes, I'm thinking that this will probably level off soon enough, once my body has found the level of padding it wants.
It is different than the first time around, isn't it? I'm not sure if the first time around I was just unaware of these changes, or just didn't care. Paying close attention to my weight wasn't what I was interested in, at that time. I have marked on my pregnancy calendar that by about week 10 my jeans were feeling tight, but I didn't actually start wearing maternity clothes until around week 20.
I work in my office at home, for the most part, so can stay in my pjs all day if I like! I typically dress like a gym teacher, so no one will think it odd for me to wear jogging pants every day! Occasionally I have to look presentable, but staying discreet for a few more weeks shouldn't be a problem. A lot of the new pregnancy pants don't have a maternity look to them at all. I'll bet you could find a pair or two that will help you stay discreet, if you find you can't wear your old pants anymore.
I'm impressed that you jogged 3 miles!!! Geez, good exercise! Do you have pelvic floor problems? I do, and the estrogen is making it worse, so I'm having to really watch it during my workouts; lots of modifications during the hi/los.
Nope, no morning sickness, yippee! No food aversions either! Yay! I'm starting to feel my blood pressure adjusting when I change positions, I'm becoming more breathless doing simple tasks like carrying laundry up the stairs, and if my blood sugar drops, I get really light headed and dizzy. So, I guess I should just stay in one position (horizontal!), stop doing laundry, and eat all day long. Sounds good to me!!
Cheers,
Sandra
