Pregnancy Check in Week of July 11, 2004

Well...I hope everyone had a great week and that we hear from more people this week. I'm lonely! I'm 31 or 32 weeks right now (my ultrasound had a later due date than my LMP, but I'm measuring in line with my LMP, so I'm not sure what to think, baby will come when he comes) but I am SO ready to be done! I want my old body back! I have really felt different this time around. My energy level seems to be way less, and I feel sick to my stomach a lot more--more low blood sugar type feelings than nauseousness. My joints hurt quite a bit too. They feel like lactic acid build-up everytime I walk up the stairs.

My business has really picked up again and I brought on this huge client that has been so stressful to me. I think it's making me extra tired. With everything involved, I was only able to get in 4 workouts this week as I had to spend a lot of long hours in my office, but the work was pretty strenuous too, so I think I still did fine.

Sunday: Off
Monday: Off
Tuesday: Step & Intervals
Wednesday: 10 10 10
Thursday: Step Jummp & Pump step section and first hi-lo only
Friday: Leaner Legs (had a big scare this a.m. - went to pull this tape out of my VCR and heard the tape getting stuck. It was fully rewound, and I was able to tighten the tape back down, but if this tape breaks, I will be so sad! I really need to start switching my collection to DVD's. I'm excited to order my first set with Cathe's newest tapes.
Saturday: Off

Friday and Saturday were really heavy work days for me with 33 boxes to unload and 40,000 pieces of mail to run, 100 trays to fill and load into my truck. I was on my feet all day bending and lifting, etc. and my legs were killing me by the end of Saturday. I think this could qualify as a 4th cardio workout in my week, if not better.

I had a dream that my baby was born the other night. He had eye lashes that were about 4-1/2 inches long. It's way better than the dreams I had with my first 2. I dreamed that both of them were born with the most funky teeth you could imagine. They both came out just beautiful though. Well, my son was beautiful to my husband and I. He got such bad baby acne and the dr used forceps to aide in delivery so he had this huge bump on the side of his head that took 6 weeks to go away, and he was losing all of his hair in patches. I remember taking him to the dr for a checkup and this woman saying "Oh. A baby. May I see him?" I feel bad saying this, but I didn't want to show him to her because I knew he was beautiful and that the acne was going to go away and the bump would heal, but she didn't have a clue as to what was wrong with him of course. Well, I couldn't exactly tell the woman she couldn't see my son, so I lowered him for her to see and I could hear her gasp as if she was thinking Oh my God! What is wrong with that poor child. But he was always the most beautiful baby to me!

I'm still excited to hear Autumn's birth story. Hope she posts soon.

Take care!

Hi Stacey -
Too bad others aren't joining in the check in. Work has kicked in as it does this time of year so I'm still only getting about 2 or 3 of my "off-the-feet" workouts in a week. I've been tired, too, so I think at this point I'm needing the rest and try to take it when I can. I'm officially 37 weeks today so it's only a matter of a little more time before I meet my baby!

I've had about 5 or so dreams about my baby during the course of my pregnancy. Only one was really weird. In the others I was pretty sure it was a boy except for one which I couldn't really tell if it was a boy or girl but it didn't matter because the baby was smiling at me, my favorite dream so far!

Lets hope some other ladies join in the check in soon!
Have a great week -

Hi Diana. Thanks for joining me. Yeah, it really is too bad that more people aren't joining in. It's not just to post your progress when you are getting workouts in. It's still fun to hear how everyone is doing. Oh well...hope they are all doing well. It might just be slow with everyone being on vacation since it is summertime and all, too.

My work has really picked up too, and my business partner is going on vacation for a week, then I'm gone for 4 days, then she's gone for 4 days. I'm stressed out about trying to make it work without her as I start my 9th month. We have brought on some really large clients lately and most of the jobs are due to fall right when she leaves. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best though.

Your dreams sound wonderful. I am so excited for you. I can't wait to hear that your little one was born and that you know if baby is a he or a she. When I was pg with my son, I dreamed I was having a girl. I thought for sure he'd be a girl until I had the ultrasound. :) I got a bunch of baby boy stuff at The Gap yesterday. Spent almost $200 then realized it was all 0-3 months and that was kind of stupid to spend so much for such a short time period, so I am going to bring about half of it back. I tend to splurge on baby clothing, but like to do it when the clothes are lasting a bit longer. With my son, he only wore 0-3 for a couple of weeks because he grew so fast! My daughter wore clothes for the correct period of time on the tags though. It also really makes a difference between brands. Gap, Gymboree and places like that tend to be more "correctly" sized than clothes from Target or Mervyns.

Well...I hope you are posting soon that your little miracle is here. :)

Take care.

Hi ladies! I am trying to nurse and type with one hand... I am a terrible typist with two hands... this should be fun. ;)

Diana, if your body says rest... then so do. I lowered the intensity of my workouts the last few weeks and am so glad I did. You know, my daughter was due 8-11 by u/s and I had her July 31... maybe you'll go early too. :)

Stacey, your dreams crack me up. Isn't it funny what are minds come up with??

Well, I am ready to workout... BUT, my discharge instructions state I am not even to do light housework for 2 weeks. x( I think they know me too well. :) DH is working from home... so I can't sneak a workout in... although he is going into the St. Louis office tomorrow... hmmmmm.}( I am a kegeling (or kegelling) and pelvic tilting maniac though. :)

I look forward to reading your birth stories. Take care ladies!

Hello everyone!
I am very sorry that I have not posted for a while. The truth is that I just have been way too sick! If I get in a shower than I feel like that is my workout. I really miss it but I know that there is no way that a workout is happening right now. I am now in my second trimester now and I am hoping and praying that this will let up. I didn't want to post because I feel like such a downer.
I did read the Jenny McCarthy pregnancy book. It is sooooo funny! It is nice to read something that is pure entertainment about pregnancy.

Have a beautiful day

Allison:

I am so sorry to hear about your terrible morning sickness. Isn't that the worst? I threw up everyday for 18 weeks with my first. (Subsequent pregnancies did get better, thank God, but still weren't wonderful.)

Take the rest you need and don't feel guilty. We are all here if you need support. Don't worry about being a downer. I am probably the worst one on the boards for that since my pregnancy was not only unplanned, but I'm sad to say, really unwanted with our busy and full lifestyles, and feeling so complete with the 2 we already had. We do love our baby, though, and know that the moment he is born, we will be so happy that God had a different plan for us.

Take care, and I hope you are feeling much better very soon.
