Hi all!
I hope you are having a great weekend. I figured I would start a new check in for us today. it seems to die down on the weekend. hard to believe tomorrow is December already!

My weekend went by too quickly, it always seems to though! My thanksgiving meal was delicious on Friday. I didnt go too overboard.

I worked out on Friday and Saturday. Yesterday I did a step workout but landed wrong and felt my foot twist. I kept going and was fine alld ay but last nite it was killing me! So i dont think i can do any cardio today. I might weight lift later but i dont know...i slept until 11am today which is crazy! My DH went to church without me. We were up until about 130 and i just could not open my eyes. I'm so bad :(

YEsterday we put up our tree and decorated it. We took some pics, and my husband took some belly pics. Im posting them here to share (how brave) One is me, the other two are close ups of the belly. Dont laugh ladies! haha. Im going on 29 weeks already. This pregnancy is flying by.

I think I will lay low today. Sunday is football day here for my husband. I dont know what i'll do. Laundry needs to be done. Maybe i can doa w eight workout, maybe not. Just relax and clean up a little i suppose.

We had whole wheat pancakes last nite from scratch they were delicious! With berry syrup - you just heat up a bag of frozen mixed berries with 2/3 cup pure maple syrup. mmmm...and i made some eggs and bacon. So breakfast for dinner last nite was on the menu! Tonite i think its just txgiving leftovers from friday lol.

i hope you all have a great weekend! Whats left of it anyway. I hope Housewives is on tonite. Last weekend some dumb music award show was on and i didnt know it and i was looking forward to my show. Oh well :)

THank you Kate! It took a lot of courage to post pics like that, especially since i feel like a big ole tugboat! Nice to "see" you here , i hope you and your little one are doing well.

Its monday morning, i'm at work. Usually mondays are hectic for me. i'm usually swamped. I expect the crime calls to come pouring in any minute now...

good morning to everyone to follow!

Jen you do look great. no worries! I need to take a pic for the early bump stage. I'm not all that big yet but I know it'll start getting big soon so I want to have pics of all stages. I'm bummed I didn't do one earlier but oh well. Sorry you hurt your foot/ankle. I hope it feels all better fast for you. the berry syrup mix sounds interesting. may have to try that out. :)

I've felt the baby move alot more the last few days. Its still rather sporadic but very undeniable when it is the baby. THe days couldn't go slower till my U/S on the 11th. aaaahh. ha. I keep worrying about every silly thing like the baby missing limbs or having extra ones or something being wrong. ugh. I'll feel so much better when I see the little guy/girl. Not to mention I'm ready to buy some stuff and start working on picking a name!

I'm kinda concerned although the nurse & midwife were not. My resting heartrate is so high? She said it was cause I just walked down along hall but i'm like so what? it was in the low 90s.?? I posted just before I knew I was preggo in the open forum I was worried my resting heartrate was in the low 80s. that doesn't sound good at all to me. And that was when I was working out VERY regularly. I notice sometimes when walking around the house and I sit down my heart feels like its really going. I never felt like that before being preggo. just wondering what you all think?

Thank you for the compliments Jess. Be sure to take those pics. I had been meaning to each month, but that was the FIRST time i took a belly shot and im now 29 weeks! So i kept putting it off. I didnt really show until late in my fourth month/early fifth month but still it would have be nice to see the progress.

about your heart rate, you might have a naturally higher resting heart rate to begin with. Mine is like a dead person - in the low 60s, or it was when i used to run a lot. And i still work out so it wasnt that bad.

ABout your heart racing i was experiencing that a lot too. its quite scary sometimes! you feel some pressure on your chest and try to take adeep breath, which doesnt really help. Is that how you would describe yours? Mine would do that daily sometimes a few times a day. I asked my midwife and she said its normal to have an elevated heart rate but if it happens too much in one day we may have to get a cardiologist check it out. SO be sure to express all your concerns to her and maybe keep track of how often it happens. Mine have gone down a lot and now that dont hapen all that often, thank goodness. It is not a good feeling.

Im sure your baby will be just perfect when you see him/her on the 11th. I had the same fears, and i still do. I always ask the ultrasound tech if everything looks normal, just to make sure, since they see it everyday and i usually have no idea what i'm looking at!

It's been awhile

Hi all,

Sorry that it's been awhile since I posted in this forum. I'm 18 weeks today and still not showing. However, I can feel my uterus about 2-3 inches below my navel. I'm still in my regular clothes and have only gained about 3 pounds. No change in workout status either so I'm starting to get worried. I have a glucose test scheduled for Thursday along with another u/s. What can I expect with the glucose test? I heard it was nasty tasting.

Good morning ladies
Laura dont worry, i did not show until i was about five months along, everyone is different and if this is your first it will probably take a lot longer.

the glucose test is not that bad. i wouldnt want to drink the liquid often but its not as bad as people were telling me. it reminded me of the liquid in a mr freeze icy popsicle before it gets frozen. its not too bad. its like kids medicine without a medicine taste, dont worry you will do just fine with it!

Laura -I remember it as being a way overly sweet orange soda type drink. or orange koolaid but way too sweet. ick. but its only a tiny cup worth. I'm 19 weeks today and I'm for sure showing. But this is my third. I can feel my uterus at my BB. but I hear things stretch out faster with next babies. The midwife also thinks its possible I'm a week ahead just from the feel of things. guess we'll see at my U/S.

Jen -I'll ask about the heartrate thing next time. I try not to let it bother me it just seems odd since I work out so much (well usually). The racing heart isn't too often.
I really do need a pic. I for sure have a belly. Depending on what I'm wearing I look rather big or rather small. kinda funny. I'm sorta inbetween needing maternity clothes and sqeezing into my reg clothes. My regular tshirts are inching up my belly and you can for sure see it then cause my belly is stretching out my shirts. But when I put on a maternity top it swallows me up. All except those rouched tops that fit snug but stretch out as you grow. I found some great maternity pants at a consignment shop yesterday. A pair of old navy beige cords and a pair of duo maternity jeans. $6 each and they are like new!

Great pics, Jen! I'm only a couple of weeks behind you and we've got about the same size bellies. = )

I go for my glucose test next week. It's not bad at all, but I did fail it last time and then had to do the 3 hr test...failed it too. = ( Really, really, really hope I pass this time. I wonder if my diet at the time helped me fail. I remember at the beginning of my pregnancy being so scared of caffeine and artificial sweeteners that I was drinking a lot of homemade lemonade (w/ tons of sugar) and regular sprite. I wouldn't think it would, but I definitely have tried to avoid having too much sugar this pregnancy.

Jess, great score at the consignment shop!

Hi Laura! I remember with my first the tummy suddenly bumped out after 5 months. I wore my regular jeans (sometimes with a rubberband at the button) up until then.

good morning ladies :)

jess - great score at the consignment shop. a really sweet friend of mine has been buying me maternity clothing. the latest were some thrift shop finds. she is rreally spoiling me. i really hope she isnt spending too much on me! i always love a great deal though :) Its so nice not squeezing into your pants that are way too tight and uncomfy. maternity really does make a difference. ELASTIC is my friend :)

my orange drink wasnt overly sweet. its was about 10 ounces tho in a littlejug so it wasnt a small amount. but it is doable, i am sure it will go just fine.

Jen -wow thats weird you got something different. hmmm. Well my last one was 6 years ago so I wonder if they've all changed. They gave me a cup the size of those little paper cups you get for little kids and I guess I already don't like orange fake juice or orange soda but it tasted way sweet to me.

I've actually been in maternity for a month or so already. My regular pants just were so uncomfy around the belly. I could squeeze into them I'm sure if I had to. I feel like I'm starting to look "rounded" in the middle area around my waist etc. not caring for it. :( I gained a lb or so the last few days. I'm starting to get nervous about weight gain too.

Tana- yeah with my last son I suddenly popped too and I think took a bit longer to show. I remember being almost 5 months and fitting into all my old clothes and people saying I didn't look pregnant when they found out. Well it didn't take but another month and I had a pretty big belly. Then people were shocked I was "only" six/seven months and kept asking me am I due soon and what not. argh! I think it was cause I was so small pre-pregnancy that I was ALL belly.

I had another ultrasound this morning--I swear this one's going to be an aerobics instructor or something. S/he's got her/his mommy and daddy's energy. Saw the spine, heart, stomach, limbs, etc. All is very well. I have another ultrasound scheduled for December 30th--it'll be a biggie. I'll be in my 22nd week. I've only gained 4 lbs but the doctor said he doesn't care. I think it's all in my breasts. That's a VERY good thing. I'm still in my "skinny" jeans. I also had the glucose test to check for gestational diabetes. The doctors were pretty impressed with my scores (very low, which is good). I was told that it's the fitness and was encouraged to keep it up.

1st reading (after a 12 hour fast): 69 (must be below 90)

2nd reading (1 hour after drinking a NASTY sugar drink): 102 (must be below 180)

3rd reading (2 hours after drinking and still no food): 44 (must be below 155). By this time the doctor said you have to keep eating throughout the day. Do not eat three meals--this attests to everything that I tell my clients. ;-)

Laura -so glad to hear your tests went so well!! Keep up the goodwork on the exercise. I'm feeling better so am getting back into it. I think overall I've gained 6 lbs according to my scale. Which I'm glad it wasn't more since I was out for so long with headaches etc.
So you didn't get to see the sex at the U/S? Did they try? I have mine in about a week. I'm so anxious cause I want to find out the sex. Thats the only one they'll give me. Only other option if I don't find out is to pay for it out of pocket.

Hi all!!

just popping in to say that I am still around. I've been out of town for a few days and I am looking forward to getting back home.

Does anyone have a shitzu? do you know if they are good around babies?

Still no workout for me, I know that I will have to pay for this after the baby comes.

Have a good night everyone.

Skyy

We're not going to know the sex--I don't want a bunch of gendered items for the baby. S/he will get enough of that after s/he is born.

Laura -well that'll be kinda hard. I've wanted to buy SOMETHING for baby that is neutral but I haven't seen anything really. I really like the boyish/girlish stuff. But some things like a carseat etc I may go with a gray/black or something. I don't like overkill on the pink/blue too much.

Well I did a tuffy last night. Kinda sore today. I'll checkin with you all Sunday I'm out for now ;) catch up later.
