+++ Preg - TTC +++ Saturday

I can't believe I'm the second one to post.

I woke up to a dead computer. I was somehow able to restore it using some mysterious process I don't fully understand, so if I quit posting altogether, it might not be the baby, it might be a dead computer. I can't stand the thought of being without the computer:eek::eek::eek:.

I've been getting up in the middle of the night and doing algebra the last 2 nights and then going back to bed. At least the neighbors have been quiet.

We have a wedding to go to today and it's going to be over 100 and I am not a heat person, even when I'm not pregnant. I have nothing to wear but jeans. A dress that looked adorable in earlier pregnancy, now looks awful, with my big boobs and enormous belly--so big the front of the dress lifts up. Couple that with flip-flops and I really look like, well, white trash. I hate to say it, but there it is....:mad:.

I had some rather painful contractions last night, so I packed a bag--that will probably delay labor. Actually, with the full moon this weekend, I would rather wait anyway--the birthing center is probably really crowded and I don't want to get stuck in a lousy room:p. Picky, picky.

+++++
Kate--I hope you and dh have made up. I think it's miserable to be angry. We both do, so we try to work things out quickly when they arise. And hey, if anyone on this check in can afford to eat pancakes--you can. Enjoy:D.

Candra--Sonlight Electric--that's cool:cool:.

Susan--I hope your foot is feeling better. I hate dealing with injuries. Did they give you a time line for when it might heal up?

Jen--I have high cholesterol naturally. I haven't had it tested in 5 years, but then it was 270. It's been getting higher over the years. It is congenital and I know they'll want to medicate me, which I will refuse, not liking the looks of the side effects. I hear you on the lower back pain.

Melanie--Good job on the weight loss. I hope you get the drug test thing straightened out. Keep us posted on how it's all going.

Mikki--sorry about the illness at your house and for the heads up about MRSA (did I get those initials right?). Our oldest son wrestles and I worry about what he could pick up in the locker room/wrestling mats--they wash everything down daily with bleach and he's a boy who loves his showers, but still--that's a SCARY disease.

Jenm--sorry the testing didn't go the way you wanted. Your baby is probably fine. As far as the thyroid, I think that it won't pose a problem for you as long as you are getting it treated. And for the rh neg/pos thing, I think they just give you a medication at some point. Follow Kate's advice and post a separate thread on it and I think you'll get a lot of reassurance.

Hi everyone else!

Maggie
39 weeks, 5 days

hi all. I just went to walmart, heb(local grocer) and gased up the car and picked up my soccer roster for the fall(somehow I am coaching 2 teams, more on that later). I am so tired right now.
I did all of the above shopping because we have found out that our son most likely has celiac disease. He would need an intestinal biopsy to know for sure (no way!!) My uncles 4 sons were all diagnosed with it about 3 months ago, due to gasric/intestinal problems. I didn't think much about it, though obviously there is a genetic component with all of their boys having it. well our ds, 4, has had allergy problems, mainly skin, since he quit nursing at 12 months. We know he is allergic to eggs,which he never eats. But when he does, he breaks out in a boil like rash all over his lower legs it is itchy and painful and it looks horrible. He also has eczema. He gets this rash though when he doesn't eat eggs, and we can figure out why. Well, they have tried steroids, topical and oral, allergy meds,etc. Nothing really controls it. Anyway I called our dr. after I found out about my cousins and she suggested some testing, because celiac disease has a manifestation that is in the skin only(? I had no idea) and when we googled it,it was an exact match to his skin:(. So poor little guy is now on a gluten, dairy and egg free diet for 3 weeks to try and see if there is an improvement. Thats why I was at every grocery store! I am fortunate that he does not have the intestinal trouble, but there are terrible diseases like lymphoma that he can develop if gluten is not completely removed from his diet. so the whole family is taking part. I tossed every thing with gluten. Anyhow, I am a little scared...
Okay enough of me complaining.
Jenm-I have o neg blood too. If you don't have the rhogam shot at 28 weeks there is a slight chance that your body would see your baby as foreign and attack it, mainly its red blood cells causing anemia. That is why they test so early on so you know. I had the shot with both of my children and no problems they were just fine. Don't worry! About your thyroid, they can safely treat you while pregnant, it is alot of extra blood work, but it should be fine. Pregnancy often causes changes in thyroid function. Sorry they couldn't see what they needed. do you have another u/s scheduled for 20 weeks?
Maggie-full moon this weekend? Girl, get your bag packed! I sure hope that pushes you along!
Kate-pancakes sound so yummy! You need them. I did mm yesterday. I am having trouble just typing this! My arms feel like they are dragging on the ground.
I better go. sorry for the long post. having one of those days!

hi all
thank you for the reassurances on RH Negative etc. I did not know much about it except that my body will treat the baby as a foreign object. And i was reading up on the web (Big mistake!!) so that just scares one even more! I try not to do that tho. I was looking for some more info

I don tknow much about thyroids either - just that she said its low and they were restesting for something called T4. Does that mean i have bad metabolism? she mentioned im thin but i dont think so. I was really oping its not the kind that slows the metabolism. That would just be awful..

Anyway, i had a good morning. i went to bed and got almost 10 hours sleep - MUCH needed. I didnt exercise yesterday...in fact not since tuesday maybe...so i did Muscle Max and Imax 3 this morning just to make up for it.

I hope your son gets better with the celiac disease.
Maggie enjoy the wedding i am sure you look fine, you are just uncomfortable with the heat and being ready to give birth!

kate i missed your post about being angry with your hubby, we get into tifts a lot lately but always make up. i hope things are better now! And i hope you ate some pancakes for me. Yum. I just had an egg sandwich (my usual) but im still starving.

wow its 130 already..sigh

Maggie, Your PC better not die!! We’d all be too anxious for details!! Algebra at night??? PASS on that!!! Good luck at the wedding tonight - sorry for the clothes dilemma! I hate not having anything to wear - almost no worse feeling.

Mikkia, My best friend has just been diagnosed with celiac AND lyme disease! I have learned so much from her about it. PM me if you’d like - we can trade phone #s and I can give you more info maybe. She is very very smart and I know she would even be willing to talk to you about it. Glad you liked MM!! My chest still hurts from days ago and my legs are quaking’ from 2 days ago. That is such a good WO.

Jen - Stay off the net!!! Ambitious Workouts!

Ah, the fam is waiting for me. details later……..

Hi everyone. YEsterday I did "mini-Bento"- parts of Cardio Pump Step and ASC2. Only worked out about 45 minutes. Today I ran 4 miles on the treadmill. That's it for a while. We're leaving on a quick vacation on Tuesday to a resort near Branson, MIssouri.

Mimi is great- picture below. On Thursday she weighed exactly 12 pounds. She sleeps from 9 pm to 3 am pretty regularly.

Jen1- I had chol. testing before I was pregnant. It was borderline high and my trig. were 299! The doctor felt it was no big deal.

Maggie- The Pacific NW just doesn't seem like a place where it'd get to 100. that's a midwest thing I thought. Is it humid too?

Kristan!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!! She is so cute! All of that beautiful dark hair! I love it!
:)
Good job with the workouts! Hope your coming vacation is good & relaxing!

-----------
We went out for breakfast this AM. I had panckaes and I don't know if was the carbs or the sugar or what but I was so nauseous. Pushed thru it and did a major organizing of baby's room. Then we went swimming at the in-laws. Home now and NO CLUE what's for dinner. Maybe I'll just keep on going with the carb thing and order pizza. I *never* eat like this!!:eek: Need to poll the family and see what they want.

As far as anger at The Man:mad: - we're getting along just fine. I think my gripes were legitimate but I could've been nice inhow I presented it? :confused: I forgive him!;)

Looking forward to a nice relaxing evening. Oh wait. I want DH to help me organize more stuff.... A nice evening anyway:)

Kristen she is beautiful. I cannot wait to have mine. I am only 3 months lol. I love seeing them in the ultrasounds especially now that the baby is looking more like a baby.
My mom told me she hopes i have a girl as they are more fun to dress up. She is throwing me a shower in October so i'm flying home alone. My husband couldnt afford to take leave. We dont have much saved since we are new to this job and area :(

How much recovery time did you ladies need before you had to go back to work , if you guys work? I can take 3 months of family medical leave but its unpaid - there is NO way i could go that long without salary becuase of my DH's child support :mad:

Anyway i made him take a nap with me at 4pm. He left at 530pm and i just count NOT get out of bed until 6pm. Now i feel groggry and crappy. I have to go to the grocery store. DH is at work again, i'm always alone!

I havent checked up on the hurricane, i should do that. My dad told me one is heading our way. So i should pick up some water i guess. Unless people have already horded the shelves at the grocery store. I hate grocery shopping

Someone told me they are changing my light duty position so i might have a different job come monday. i've already been changed twice in the last two months. Oh well...better than the road. I wish i could work from home, i just dont know what to do or what skills I have :(

Hmm..i think im feeling sorry for myself today. I also feel HUGE. I had two great workouts today but all week was slacking. Today i already had a lot to eat - egg sandwich, then later a big bowl of cereal, then meatloaf for lunch (leftovers) and a slice of cake after that. MY face feels so big right now. Maybe its just bloat or just in my head.

Since I sound so cranky i'm going to stop writing. Noone wnats to listen to a winer lol

Oh..one more question, what cribs did u guys buy for your babies? We are having a hard time becuase all the ones we like are online only so i cant see them. Thanks!

Hi,
The park was fun yesterday, as long as I walked 1 mph:confused:. On the ride there, I had such terrible back pain that I thought I may be having contractions, but there was no pattern to the pains, and once I was out of the car and standing, they were better. I did have a lot of pressure in my lower uterus and some round ligament pain, though:(. I want to exercise SO bad, but I am afraid to. I have an OB appt this Wed, so I will discuss all this then. I seem to remember the same thing happening when I was pregnant with DS #1, but these things happened earlier. Today, DH and I took DS to my best friend's daughter's birthday parties at a playground park. It was fun, and DS played for 3 hours straight. I got to see my sister and my nieces too. My friend lent me her Pump-n-Style:D.

Today, the pain was better, but like Kate, I am nauseous!!! C'mon October!

Kate-Yeah on the pancakes. Were they the best pancakes you ever ate? I hope you are feeling better. I am right there with you!

Jen-Good workouts! My friend, mentioned above, also had to get Rogam (sp?) shots.

Kristan-Mimi is adorable:D. You are doing such a great job on your workouts too!

Mikkia-I never heard of celiac disease. Is it something that lasts a lifetime, or is it something that DS will grow out of/get relief from from his diet? I am sorry to hear that he is going through this.

I am off to bed. It's 9:00p.m., and I am beat (not from doing too much exericse, though;)).
-Jen

I think dh is waiting for my head to spin around 360 degrees and for green vomit to come out of my mouth. :eek: I've had a lousy day--hot, swollen, peeing all the time, painful contractions that go no where and just an all around squirrelly and restless feeling.....:mad: But, the heartburn is completely gone--I think she's burrowing down in my cervical area--feels that way.

+++++
Mikki--oh what a bummer about the celiac disease! At least you know what's going on, but it would be really hard to eat that way. Keep us posted on how it goes. I hope he feels better soon--poor little guy.:(

Kristan--Mimi is sooo beautiful...I'll bet she never lacks for love and attention:). We have our heat waves here in Oregon. We never really get a chance to acclimate to them--it will be mild and then bam--3-4 days of intense (and yes, humid, blech) heat and then back down again. I do not handle it well at all.

Kate--I have to do the algebra (I actually find doing math relaxing--like doing cross words or other puzzlers--I like stuff like that). Last year, I realized with my current knowledge base I could no longer "wing" math, so I determined to get a head start on him. I feel really prepared for next year. It's all coming back. Sorry the pancakes made you nauseous:(.

Jenm--Hurricane--get prepared! That sounds scary. Sorry you are having such a bad day--I can relate. And I agree with the others--stay off the internet regarding baby stuff--it can be soooo scary. I've worked myself into a state more than once "researching" fetal issues.

++++
Hi everyone else--ya'll must be busy today--off to watch the Simpsons (Netflix) with the family, because ds14 leaves for his 50 mile back pack trip tomorrow and we all want to laugh together....

Maggie:)
39 weeks, 5 days--can I start counting hours yet?

Jen and Autumn--we must have posted at the same time-

Autumn--sorry you feel so icky, but that's really a good thing, right? Hang in there.

Jen--sorry about all the pelvic floor/back pain. I hope your ob sheds some light on it and that you can get some relief.

Maggie

JenM - Since we are self-employed I get my delivery off!:p Then its back to business as usual!:mad: This time around will be different. I have payroll to keep up on and a few other small things. Good luck with that issue! Sorry you’re feeling so blue….:( Our crib is (I think) Baby’s Dream. ???? It’s been over 6 years since we bought it - the memory fades!;)

Autumn, Sorry you’re feeling icky. No fun! Going thru that it goes so slowly. Looking back its over in the blink of an eye!

JenP - What were you riding woman!!??:eek: Re the lower uterus/rd. lig pain: Vigorous stepping and Kbing seems to aggravate that for me so I really have to watch it and keep it low impact. I also found a lot of relief with the chiro. Sounds like today was fun too. ^5 on not having to buy the pump! Why on earth are we experiencing NAUSEA again in the 3rd tri????!!:confused::eek::mad: I do NOT remember this with the other 2! the pancakes were awesome while I ate them but the whole rest of the day I felt nauseous and just plain “off”.:mad: I don’t want it to be the pancakes! I’m counting on eating those a few more times to bring my weight up!!! LOL! Celiac, unfortunately, does last a lifetime. The only "cure" is eating a gluten-free diet.

I did PUB and Classical Stretch UB tonight. Eats were not too bad considering it’s a Saturday. Didn’t get anymore baby stuff done but I suppose I did get a lot done there today and I *do* have a few (9) more weeks to go!:D;) Actually, 7 if I get MY way!!:D:D

Maggie!!!!! YESSSSSS!!! Start counting those hours!!! You are goin' into labor, baby!!! Tonight!! Now go have some hot sex and report back that you're off to the hospital!!!!!
:eek::eek::eek::D:D:D

Kristan ~ I am starting with you.....well, Mimi actually. She absolutely beautiful!!!!

Maggie ~ your light is green...... shouldn't you be.... ahem...... participating in labor inducing behaviours. :p I absolutely consider the nausea a + sign.

Mikki ~ I am sorry about your son's potential dx of celiac disease.

Jenm ~ I forgot to mention I have cared for probably thousands of Rh- women and their healthy Rh + babies. One of my good friends has 3 beautiful, healthy kids/babies. HTH!

Kate ~ I think I need to follow your eating plan. What do you eat? I am starting out way above my desired weight. :eek:

Jen ~ I had low-back pain with DS (#2). I went to a chiro for relief..... it just got to be too much.

I feel a little better now. I made a dinner mistake...... chinese..... of course, DH has an upset tummy too. :rolleyes: WhatEVER!!!!!! :D

Jen ~ I am reading Friday's check-in and saw your post about kettelbells. I really enjoy the workouts.... yes, I find some fun. The instructors on the KB workouts are much more serious than other workouts. The music..... I don't know. I don't pay attention. I like the ones with Anthony.

Autumn, I mostly eat whole grains, lean protein, and lots of fruit and veggies. Not very exciting but it works for me. I've been eating this way since I got pg with DD2 about 5 years ago and when I DON"T eat *my* foods I notice right away and feel sluggish and awful. Like the pancakes!;) It will sound good but then I eat it and go "Moron! That's why you eat whole grains!":p I surely do not eat perfect all the time but I'd say 90% of the time I eat pretty clean. For some reason I am strangely motivated right now to keep it clean. Saturdays are my wierd days though...my cheat day I guess! I gained over 50 lbs with DD1, 26# with DD2. I would love to repeat the 26 (or less!;)) with this one. To date I've gained 18.5 pounds. I'm due in 9 weeks but if I follow my previous 2 pregs I'll deliver in 7.5 weeks (keeping my fingers crossed, but not my legs!:eek:). So if I gained a pound a week I'd gain 26 again, however I haven't been gaining a pound a week. My midwife is concerned I'm not eating enough so she's having me keep a food journal. Hopefully she's okay with it. If not.... I'd like to say I'd listen to her and eat more but I probably wouldn't. I had some eating issues before and got too thin and exercised too much. I don't want to repeat that but I'm also petrified of getting fat again!:eek: Well, now that I've rambled and babbled I'd better turn this crazy computer off, practice my HypnoBirthing and go to bed!

Good night!

Kate ~ What are your lean proteins? I am going to have to be vary careful this pregnancy. I gained 44#s & 47#s. The 44 came off easily but not that 47.

I gotta go check my patient....just gave DH his allergy shots.
