Pre workout drinks

I know it's best to go without but my 6am workouts go soo much smoother when I consume 20 to 30 minutes prior. I try to avoid them for my afternoon workouts as it seems I have more in the tank. Thoughts on this controversial topic?

I have a pre workout drink every other day, i alternate it with my energy drink. I don't drink monster or red bull they have way too much sugar in them. I think if you enjoy drinking your pre workout in the morning and it helps you you should continue. What ever works right[emoji2] the only reason why I alternate is to have my pre workout last longer, i do enjoy it [emoji2] cheers [emoji482]

I drink 25-30 grams of whey protein, mixed with water, and 15-30 grams of fruit juice, Gatorade, Koolaid, etc., alternating sips of each. I drink 1/3-1/2, during the workout, and the remainder, after working out. I do this only for a heavy weight workout. For other workouts, I drink water.

Agree with you Terina that you have to really watch the sugar content. I think the main thing is your total daily caffeine intake and keeping it under 300mg. Everyone can metabolize/react differently and just depends on the individual. For me this works for now & gives me that extra punch to get my sleepy but in gear & through my workout!!

For months I used Spark, whacked great initially but the cost and the fact my body seemed acclimate to it I was on the hunt for something different and a little cheaper. I've been using muscle tech brand from Walmart and works fabulously for 14.99/30 servings! It's in a silver
Canister and called Explosive pre-workout energy drink. Works like a charm for me!
