MIA y'day....crazy busy. AND it was my bday! DH got me 2 tracey WO's and a gift cert for a 90-minute in-home massage!!! I was a blubbering mess! That's got to be the most thoughtful gift I'veever gotten. What a guy!!!

I hope everyone is getting some sleep. Steph, I know its rough for you rightnow. Hang in there! You've proven 2x that they can turn into good sleepers! (DH reminds me of that often!)

Gina's home sick from school today - nasty cough. Laying low....a nice change from y'day!

Kristan, way to kick butt onthe WOs! We're all jealous!

I got cleared for walking and light ab work y'day. No step yet - wah!

Well I was SO tired yesterday b/c of lack of sleep. My sweet DH told me last night that someone invited him to go to the Tennessee Titans/Colts game last night but he passed. I think he thought I'd be happy, but it made me sad that he felt he had to give up a great night just to come rescue me. I wish he would have called and told me he'd been invited and I would have just gotten mom to come help me out last night. Normally, help would not be necessary, but I only had had about 2 hours of sleep the night before, and those two hours weren't even in a row. Ugh. Last night: MUCH better. We gave Charlie his gas drops directly and not into his formula, and they seemed to help him tremendously. Today is a much better day. The boys are at school/preschool, and it's just Charlie and me. AND I was three pounds lighter this a.m. WOO HOO. Just 35 or so more to go... :confused:

I'm off in search of an Obama yard sign. I'm surrounded by McCain signs in my neighborhood, and I feel the need to shake things up a bit :cool:.

oops..I had posted on Monday's thread earlier this AM.

Happy belated birthday, Kate!! Wow, what a great gift from DH!

Stephanie--I also started giving Caden his gas drops directly. My DH thinks that if I put the drops in the formula, the drops will work on killing the bubbles in the formula and won't have any strength to work on the bubbles in Caden...not sure if there is any merit to that, but I figure why risk it. I hope you get some sleep soon. I know all too well sleepless nights and days. Caden has been napping for an hour this AM!! He never naps in the AM (or much at all for that matter), so this has been great--I even blowdried my hair instead of putting it in a pony :)

Stephanie, No guilt for DH!!!! Hey, we're at home all day long giving up LOTS of things - he can miss a game or two to be with you. And (said with LOTS of LOVE)...he's not "helping/rescuing" you - he's being a husband and father. My MIL will often refer to DH as "babysitting" if I *dare* to do something alone on a weekend or evening. It is NOT babysitting when I'm mothering - fathering isn't babysitting either! Hope you get some sleep today/tonight. ..........sorry if I was ranting..........:eek:

Lisa, Sending sleep vibes to you and Caden too! Lack of sleep is one of the biggest causes of PPD. Do your best to get some sleep. (((hugs))) - I know its hard - esp. with your first.

no clue on the gassiness - not dealing with that thankfully!
 
kate-happy b-day!!!! owen started coughing sunday and he has sickness induced asthma so yesterday we spent two hours at the doctors getting him a breathing treatment to get his wheezing to stop.he is feeling much better today:) i hope gina is feeling better also. i think next week i will get the boys their flu shots. igot mine a few days b/f ryder was born.

stephanie-sorry about the lack of sleep and don't feel guilty about dh. good job on being down 3 pounds that is great.

candra, (((hugs))) for owen! and his mommy! It's so hard when the kids are sick...even harder when you add a newborn to the equation! I took all of our girls to the photog's on Friday. I'll get to see the pics next week - hope they turn out well - julia was tired, so we'll see.... we did some together and most by herself. One was a black background, she was naked, and we had pumpkins lined up behind her. Birth announcement to read somehting about the new pumpkin in the patch....???? We LOVE fall and Halloween.

Speaking of Hween - I soooo hope the weather is halfway decent so I can go out trick-or-treating with Mike and the girls. I will hate to miss it. I could care less about any other holiday, but don't take my Hween away from me!!! We're so glad HW is on a Friday - no school the next day! We would love to see HW get permanently moved to the last Friday of October....

kate-your birth announcements sound really cute!! i hope you get to go trick or treating with your girls. are you dressing julia up? i got ryder the glow worm costume from gymboree it is really cute but i think he will only be wearing it for pics.

Hi! I called the OB today because of continous oozing/redness in some areas of my incision. I was able to be seen today, but she said it looks fine. I guess I'll keep putting Aquaphor on it.

Lastnight, Aidan slept better (not great, but better). It's funny how fast we forget these sleepless nights!

Happy Birthday, Kate! I saw that you got a Moby Wrap. I was looking into them or Maya Wraps, but I like the look of the Moby better. Is it easy to figure out? What color did you get? Did you get it as a gift, or did you buy it for yourself? I will probably be ordering one tomorrow. Your birth announement pics sound so cute! I should go and get Aidan's done...currently this picture place, Picture Innovations, is having a super deal going on. Every day, I mean to take his pic for the birth announcement, then I don't... I also NEED to get pics printed at Costco too. I'll put that on my list for tomorrow.

Candra-I am sorry to hear your son is sick. That's never fun! Is he feeling better?

Stephanie-Congrats on the weight loss! You'll get there!

I got my breast pump tubing in the mail today (I sat down last week to pump and noticed the tubing was missing). I am borrowing a Medela Pump-n-Style from my friend. Well, I pumped before going to my dr's, and it worked very well. My DH was able to feed Aidan a bottle while I was gone with no trouble. He took to the bottle very well, and then nursed later.

I have to run and try to get a short nap in while I can!

jen, sorry the incision is giving you trouble. ouch!
the moby is VERY easy to figure out - the instruction booklet is fabulous! you must wrap it super tight tho. since its jersey it stretches and had quite a bit of "give". good luck with pictures!!!
