---- pp friday/weekend ----

Awful sleep here. Sara wasn't fussing she was just up.. ahh Then Landon woke crooping again. I got him settled and got a few hours total, but I def. see a nap coming if i can get one.

We had the dr. appt yesterday and Sara gained 5oz in 7 days so the ped. was happy. We go back one more time for a weight check and to check on her cord. It hasn't fell off yet. She also found thrush in her mouth so now we have started the nystatin. grr I had this w/ my dd and it's so hard to get rid of. I never did have it with either boy. Oh well. Maybe we can get rid of it quickly this time.

I have no food advice because I have been eating whatever I want. I have about 10lbs to lose and I don't ususlly worry about it till after my 6 week check up. I have had my share of halloween candy though.. probably shouldn't have..lol I did get a walk in yesterday. I walked laps around the park while the kids played. It felt so good to be walking. WE might walk to the park a few blocks up today to play. We'll see how I feel.

hi ladies - boy have i been mia! i read yesterday, but know i am behind on everyone.

jen, glad aidan is learning to sleep in his bed. our aidan stays in bed until 4 am - if he wakes up after that, nto the bouncy he goes:) such a bad habit, but what can you do?

kate, i am so glad you sound so happy. any signs of ppd? your diet is a model to us all. glad you are feeling good.

lisa, congratulations. i missed the news. what did you have? how was your delivery? hope you are well on the mend.

stephanie, you sound so competent and in control. hope things are going well.

hi trish! hi everyone.

aidan is now 5 months - it is crazy. he does not sleep thru the night - nurses once, but we get up to him several times - must stop that. here is the really bad news, though - i broke my 3rd metatarsal - a complete fracture. i am guessing it was stress fracture that completed, but either way, i am on crutches and out of commission. i have not done anything but weights and abs for 1 wek but today i am trying swimming. oddly enough i have lost 4 lbs, but i think it is all my muscle mass. i am really upset about it, but trying to take i one day at a time. unfortunately, dh is supposed to leave town in 4 days for 4 weeks. not sure what we will do as i am not supposed to walk on my foot. it does not hurt, but i want to heal as fast as possible so i can be abck to normal.

uh oh, ogt to go feed the baby. bye ladies!

trish, sorry about sara AND Landon! Hope Sara stays helathy! Good job Sara gaining weight! My little porker is gaining a POUND A WEEK!!!:D You can literally watch her grow!! Both my other girls did this too. Thankfully, they slim down later! There is a homeopathic remedy for thrush called gentian violet. I've never used it but I've heard its wonderful. Good job with your parkwalk! It's beautiful here.

Morris, So good to see you! No, I do NOT have ppd and Mike and I are both so happy! Im doing a natural/homeopathic thing that is working miracles! I'm sure I'd have it otherwise. that is awful about your foot!!! Will you be able to have help while DH is gone? How are your parents doing? (((hugs))) to you! A5 month-old seems like such a long ways away but I know its just around the corner. I bet he is so much fun.....other than the sleeping thing! Are you still working with your broken foot?

Good day here - Julia is down for her nice loooooong morning nap so I made a lasagna for dinner tonight and got some cleaning/laundry done. Feels good to feel good!

bbl..........

Hi ladies!!
Trish--Sorry about your sleepless night and your poor little boy. I hope he feels better soon!

Morris--I'm sorry you injured yourself, and now your husband is going out of town too???!!!! Do you have someone who can stay with you and help you? I cannot believe your baby is already five months old!! How wonderful! My Henry didn't sleep through the night until he was 18 months old, so I can empathize with you (though I'm sure your Aidan will start sleeping through much sooner).

Kate--Yey for no ppd! I also am very blessed to not have it. Yet I have been moodly lately. What is the homeopathic thing you're doing? I'm taking fish oil tablets three times a day, as I heard omega 3s really help with mood.
Would you send me some lasagna?? :p

Henry and I took Charlie to the pediatrician this morning. He weighed in at 10 lbs, 6 ozs!! Chubby! And he had grown two and a fourth inches since birth. I told the doc that I thought he had gas issues because of the way he fusses after some bottles/during some bottles. She thinks he may have a small case of reflux, though he's not spitting up a whole lot. She thinks it may be coming up, but not all of the way up and burning and making him fussy. So she prescribed baby Zantac for him. If this doesn't work, we may change his formula to lactose-free. He's had some really painful-looking fussiness the past couple of days, so I hope this helps. Well, I better go get some work done. Charlie is napping, and Henry is watching Thomas.
Oh, I picked up a heavy laundry basket and hauled it upstairs yesterday, and I think I overdid it. I was in pain last night. Man, I can't wait to be able to LIFT WEIGHTS again!! But now I take my doctor's "nothing heavier than the baby in his carrier for awhile" a lot more seriously.
Have a great day ladies!

We made it to the park.. it's a mile round trip.. not too bad for 2 1/2 week pp. I plan to walk around our park like last night too when the kids are playing in a few mins. I hope I can be back to walking a few miles at 4 weeks and running after my 6 week check up. I don't want to do too much, but I want to enjoy these semi fall days we are having. : )

Morris~wow what a downer to break your foot. ((hugs)) Sleeping till 4am is good isn't it?? I bet he'll be sleeping all night soon!

Stephanie~ hugs to you too. Make dh carry the laundry basket!! I am really good about the lifting thing just because I don't want to hurt something internally w/ not being healed. Some of the other advice like no vacuuming and no chores for 6 weeks I just laugh at. How can we not do any chores for 6 weeks??

Kate~I lb a week?? man I could only wish. Maybe this week we'll see a bigger gain from miss Sara. Does she eat all the time?? I'd be interested in the natural things you are doing for ppd. I don't I've ever had it, but I do get hormaonal and mood swings.. After my first DD I actually think I had something weird gonig on because I would compulsively clean. Like I had to or I freaked out. It eventually subsided, but it would just hit me and I'd have to clean. DH was ready to get rid of me.. LOL

Hi everyone. Not much time to workout (or even post). I did All Body Cardio, B+G standing and about 30 minutes of Sharon M. Twom. Ath. Step Jam. Hoping for a 5 mile run tomorrow at the gym and that will be it.

Trish- sorry for the coughing. My two daughters sound very croupy right now at night. My kids also have 'slow to fall off' cords and it seems like we always get thrush at about 6 months old.

Morris- BUMMER on the foot. I broke my 5th metatarsal (drinking injury) right before I was pregnant with my 1st. I swam a lot- with the orthopedist's blessing. I bought some waterproof tape to wrap my foot so it wouldn't flap around when swimming. I also used those noodle-things to hold between my knees so i could just use my arms.

Stephanie- I am a junky eater. However, lately I've tried to eat better (more protein especially) because my energy level keeps tanking and I turn into a complete crab.

Hi Kate!

Mimi is 4 months old today and super cute and delightful.

Julia had a fantastic night last night! Slept 6 hrs, up to nurse, slept another 3. I felt AWESOME this morning!!

Stephanie & Trish, Well, the homeopathic thing for ppd (which I had bad with Gina, extremely bad with Isabel) involves taking the nutrients and hormones out of my placenta and making it into a vitamin. I'd heard wonderful things about it from a friend of mine who is a doula. Odd? Yes. Effective? OH YES! I was a bit skeptical but it really has worked wonders this time around. If you are really interested in it for future pregnancies PM me and I can get you more info about it. DH would be mortified taht I even told anybody about it!! He was very skeptical but now he's like "Pay that lady double!!!" PPD was one of the reasons he initially didn't want to have more kids. It was really, really bad after Isabel. I would cry quite literally all day long. From the time I got up til I went to bed. Every day. For 6 weeks. Yuck! So glad that isn't happening again!

Hello Kristan! Glad to hear Mimi is doing well!

Well, I'm pretty much out of time. bb tomorow.....:D

Hope youdon;t mind if I jump in a little late, but I think you are just what I need! I'm a first time mom, and my ds james is 3 months old. He's NOT an "easy" baby. Bad acid reflux seems to be the cause. He has just now started showing signs of napping, although there isn't much consistancy, and he refused to sleep in hs cradle which led to him sleping with me in bed once I gave n to the pure exhaustion of keeping him going all day long. We just moved and gothis crib and he isn't consistant about sleeping in it (right now he is sleeping on me) AD we started the rice and that still doesn't help much. I love him like crazy but sometimes think i will lose my mind! And i get so frusttrated trying to get workous in b/c i know i'd be better if I did. It's a geat stress release for me...keeps me feeling better. I hate having to be dependent on my husband to cover for a workout...feel like I'm being selfish even though I kno i'm really not......ust need some ladies to relate to!

fitmonkee, big hug to you! I don't have much time right now....just popped in to read for a minute. You WILL get thru this - I promise! I've just had my 3rd (4 wks ago today!) and they DO eventually sleep...some just take longer to get there! As far as WO's....even a 20-minute walk would be wonderful! You are NOT being selfish - a happy mommy is good for the whole family! Last week I went to Kohls and Meijer by myself - by the time I got home I was positively GIDDY! It was so nice to have 2 hours to myself. Keep posting with us!! Lots of encouragement here.

See you all in the morning!
