Power lifting anyone?

Cathlete
I'm thinking about training for an amateur power lifting competition in July. I think my body gains muscle easily, and I have lots of leg strength even without training. My 1 rep max now for dead lift is 148#(per calculator I can lift 70# at least 20 times), but I have almost no upper body strength. My bench press now is 30#, on a machine, but in competition it would be free weight obviously.

These are the results from last year in my age group:

Power lifting - Senior (20-39) Female
1 - 132 Tracey Kenyon Milarsky, Columbia 155
1 - 148 Kirsten Simms, Columbia 255
1 - 165 Alexandra Skinner 500
1 - 198 Lauren Russier, Warrensburg 400
2 - 198 Jaryn Black 350

This is a 5x5 bulking routine I'm going to try.

Any advice about training heavy? I guess the only way I'll be able to do this is with the standard type of barbell like Cathe uses. The one I used today is a triceps bar and 70# is the max I can put on it.
We do already have the standard barbell, I've just not used it myself. I just took it off the wt bench, and tried it out with 100#. I think the 148 sounds fairly close. 100 was kinda easy, but I'll have to get used to lifting heavier, and wear gloves for sure.
Correction-On the triceps barbell, I can switch in 2 20# wts for the 10's or 15's, but the most I can put on it is 6 plates. So for now that is limiting. We only have 3 20's, which is the highest plate we have. Up till now, my husband was the only one who used really either barbell. Rarely, I used the smaller barbell, and the 20's were on the barbell perched on the wt bench. But even if I decide not to compete in this event, I'll still be training. Heavy wts is the only way I'm going to challenge my lower body. (Along with plyo, which will never be easy, but I can't do that often)
So I'll just need to start embracing it, and be safe so I don't hurt myself.

We also have a compact multi gym with the 3 basic stations-chest press, butterfly, and leg extension, with pull down bar on the right, squat machine on left (which I'm really too short to use. Just never comfortable. So I use free wts or the pulley system.)

Edit to add:
The power lifting is on July 21. Weight class I'm most likely to be in are 181.75 or 198.25. I was trying to find the state game's records, but they aren't online. I have them in a book at home somewhere.

Thanks for reading and any suggestions.
