Power Hour leg work

To all you who have done Power Hour (no, I haven't done it yet!)...do you think the leg work is sufficient for someone who needs very INTENSE leg weight work like me? I work my legs very hard six days a week (alternating standing and floor work), and I want a very good work out, like that in Leaner legs and PS legs.

What is the verdict on PH leg work, you educated folks out there?????!!!

RE: Go Heavy Honeybunch

There is a long track with squats at the beginning. Then, there is plie squats I believe. After that, it is on to other muscle groups for a bit and then back to lunges. There is also some deadlifts to do as well.

Personally, I can do the squats with 60# and I would go at least that heavy for all of the leg work if I was you. Cathe really does work at fatiquing the leg muscles by doing alot of low end stuff and working the legs for a fair bit of time.

This workout will make you feel thoroughly worked out and you will feel that your legs got a workout, however, I would kind of count it as mini leg day since you do work your legs so much.

This tape is a really nice change of pace and it will challenge your endurance if you go heavy enough (but don't go too heavy on the upper body stuff because it will get you if you do).

Hope ths helps.

RE: The above being said

I did Power Hour yesterday after doing S&H for quite some time and I can feel all sorts of muscles today. It is a very fun and thorough workout and I think you get from it what you put in (or on your barbell as the case may be :))

Thanks! I'll have to give it a try, and maybe add some stuff to it like leg extentions and leg curls with my Spri rubber thing-ies.

Hey HB!

I agree with everything Kim said. I really feel it in my legs for a couple of days after and I have been doing it once a week for some time now. The music is GREAT! I love this tape! Wait til you try the bicep section with ONLY 15 pounds! Whew!!!

RE: Hey Debbie

That is why my biceps feel so cooked today. I used 30#'s for the biceps when I did it on Sunday. :)

Oh my, Kim!

30 POUNDS :-wow Yikes! There is something about that section that gets me EVERY time. I have this burn in my biceps like no other tape. It starts off easy and I'm thinking, Deb, you went to low in your weight and then something kicks in half way thru! I've always struggled thru Crazy 8's, but it is a different feel. I can't imagine doing it with 30 pounds. Hmmm, maybe, I need to try my 18 pound bodybar next time around. Love, love, love that tape!

RE: Hi Debbie

Yeah, those crazy 8's will get you alright. I really love Power Hour too; just get right down to lifting.

Foolishly, I went even heavier on the biceps the first time I tried it thinking that it would be like MIS. I quickly dropped a few pounds.

I will be thinking of you tomorrow at 6:30 a.m. when I do Power Hour again. Later.

Hi honeybunch! I agree with everyone here, it is very intense but really fun. If you like lunges, you'll like PH :) I can squat with 40-50lbs on my barbell, but those static lunges get me every time, especially when you come up "half-way". You go down 2 counts, come up half-way, go down, etc. They are tough but you feel so strong afterward. I go down to 25 or 30 lbs, then down to 20 for the last set. You really build endurance with this workout. And yes, the music rocks!! :)

Whew!

Kim, now I KNOW you are really an Amazon! Not only do you do PH with 30 pounds for biceps, but you do it at 6:30 in the morning! Keep up the great job!
