Postpartum rotation?

Does anyone know of a postpartum rotation for Cathe's workouts? I know that I have lost some of my fitness level since the pregnancy and it would be nice to have a 12 week plan to help post-pregnancy women get back into shape. There is a 12 week rotation posted elsewhere on the site, but my concern is that it's a bit hardcore and inflexible for those of us who are dealing with a new baby? Anyone have experience or thoughts on this?

Hi!
I'm not sure I've seen a specific postpartum rotation, but there is a beginner rotation that might fit what you're looking for....just getting back into shape and regaining your fitness.

Hope that's helpful:)

hi lori

i thought i'd add that the most realistic thing is to do what works for you at the time and not spend any extra energy worrying about following a rotation. i think having a baby is different for everyone, and how you feel after is different to. that said, i found the best thing for me was to modify what i did the last few weeks - lots of walking and low impact - until i felt like my legs were under me. after that, i built my own rotation into what worked with fatigue and free time. does that make sense?

Hi there,
I think you just heard some of the best advice *ever* from Morris. We all recover differently from being pregnant and have varying amounts of time, etc. I wish someone had told me this when I was bouncing back from my two pregnancies.

Anyway, just wanted to throw my 2 cents in... I have had really good luck using the Cross Train series. If you are not familiar with it, it is 30 minutes of short & intense cardio and 30 minutes (or less) strength training. If I remember correctly, this is the format that Cathe used after her first pregnancy to get back into shape.
I can also say that doing at least 3 days cardio has really helped to boost my metabolism and burn off that extra fat.

Good luck and congrats on the little one!

Oh I agree with Morris, but part of my motivation for getting back into shape is to help manage my pcos (polycystic ovaries). I have insulin resistence and difficulty losing weight in general because of it (it usually takes me about a year to lose 20-25 pounds)...so, it is something that I feel anxious about. I was at a good weight for years before I got pregnant - and have gained alot during this pregnancy, which is something I just accept. So, exercise is something I feel like I have to pencil in and get support ahead of time from dh so he can watch the baby. If I have a plan ahead of time - even if I'm not perfect with it, I stick at something much better. Thanks for all the tips everyone - really appreciate it :D

The ctx series may work for you since it is short but intense. Please come join us on the postpartum checkin. The check in is great because it motivates you to work out.
