I gave birth five weeks ago and have experienced urinary incontinence since then. I've been doing kegals and it seems to help some, but i definitely still have issues and it's affecting my exercising. Has anyone else experiened this or have any advice? thanks!

Keep doing those Kegels! At least 100 a couple times a day. Definitely make an appt with your ob/gyn and let them know you're having this problem. Kegels and time may be all you need, but you may have injury to the urethra, bladder or pelvic floor if you had a vaginal birth (I hear from my mother who is a labor and delivery nurse). I had this problem after both my babies, and I had to have c-sections both times. I did Kegels religiously three times a day for several months before I had full control during my workouts. For normal activities the Kegels seemed to work fairly quickly. My mom also says that persistent incontinence should never be considered "normal" even after childbirth, so keep the communication open between you and your doctor.

I remember being in kickboxing class at 10 weeks postpartum, I leaked, and got so frustrated thinking "when is this going to go away??????" I even went to talk to the instuctor after class because I knew she had 3 kids and wanted to find out if it was going to stop. I had this issue for a while, but at around 4 months, I was back to "normal" hee hee hee.... As Natalie said, keep doing your Kegels, and certainly talk to your doctor!!
