Hi to all you mommies,
Hard to believe but Ashley is already 16 days old. She has already been shopping and seems to do well out. Exhaustion has hit me as she is nursing every 1.5-2 hours. Alexis is doing well with her baby sister. I have about 7-8 pounds to lose, weight is flexuating. At least 2 of these mustbe boob though! I am keeping my workouts light as I am still bleeding plus I am nervous about the stitches. I am waiting til at least 4 weeks to resume my regular workouts.

During the week I walked to a local store twice-about 2.5miles roundtrip, walked to in laws once-1 mile roundtrip, walked to the park once 3 miles. For tapes I did firm max. cardio plus abs yesterday, did vindy crawford's a new dimension sec. b one day, c the next and also did buns of steel postpartum one day.

I do have a pic of the girls but only know how to email it. If I get your email, I will send it.

i know i am on the wrong forum here, but please send me a pic - [email protected]

also, just to ask, is it uncomfortable when you are walking or doing your tapes? how does the ab work feel? is this time differnt than with your first? i am just wondering what to expect about getting back into after labor and delivery and am quite sure doc will say wait b/c they all do.

glad you are doing okay but hope you start to get a bit more rest soon!

Morris, visit here all you want! You will be postpartum soon enough. The first few days postpartum I was too sore to think about exercise. At this point, I feel good but am listening to my doc. My doc says stiches(I tore) take 2-3 weeks to heal. He says
I can do low impact exercises so am really keeping my workouts easy. Suprisingly, I feel better this time than after my first. I know you are more of a cardio junkie than me, but postpartum your body is recovering so you don't want to jump into cathe. With my first, I did nothing the first 2 weeks then at weeks 2-4 went for walks and did postpartum tapes. Weeks 4-6 I did pregnancy tapes and other easy step tapes as well as walks. At 6 weeks, I did my cathe tapes at full intensity. My body returned to normal within 3 months and once my dd was weaned, I lost another 5 pounds. Hope my babbling helps. I will send you the pic of the girls.

thanks for the info, shopaholic. i guess a lot depends on how your delivery is. i hope you are feeling better despite the tear. did you tear with your first? did they offer an episiotomy? controversial i know. look forward to seeing the picture.

Morris, both my girls came out so quickly that I tore. Most people I know had an episiotomy. I actually had an easy delivery but still am airing on the side of caution.

Elyse, am I the first POSTpartum to reply?!? See, you're so missed where ever you go!!! Miss-Popularity. You must have been on the Homecoming Court in high school too, right? ;)
Glad to have someone else start forum!

Last week went well, I'm maintaining my wt loss which feels good--a full 10 lbs UNDER my pre-pregnancy weight. I"m a little nervous as I've been super tired & nauseated...a little too soon to be pg again esp with sick DH. ;)

Worked-out 5 days last week

Ran 4-45 min runs (pushing two babies) & a 60 minute Turbo Jam (fun)

Hope all's well with everyone!!

Hello Ladies! Sorry I have been MIA lately. My family and I went on vacation to Florida the Friday before labor day weekend and came back home Tuesday following Labor Day. Ever since then I've been trying to play catch up. However, this Friday and the whole weekend will be another vacation but this time with my girlfriends. We have not had a girl's weekend in 6 years. At that time no one had kids and I was the only one married. However now, I have 2 kiddos and we are all married, but they don't have any kids yet. It will be interesting to see how much everyone has changed. Needless to say with all of this vacationing taking place my workouts have had to suffer as well as my diet. I'm sure this weekend will be no exception. However, first thing Monday I plan to get completely back on track and see how much damage has been done. I will also need to step up my running and weight workouts to get ready for a 10K on July 4th.

Melanie - How is DH and the kiddos doing? Great job with maintaining the weight loss! Do you think you are pregnant again?

Shopaholic - You are Wonder Woman. Only a couple weeks postpartum and you are fitting in a lot of exercise time. Take care of yourself. I'm sure you are listening to your body.

It is hard to believe that DD will be 9 months on Friday. When does postpartum officially end? I'll be sad to see it go because I will miss checking in with you ladies.

Take care!

Kristi, great job on the weight loss! Enjoy your girls weekend. You don't have to leave us antime soon. Mel, will tell you a bunch of is stayed on this check in til our kids were toddlers. I am keeping my workouts real easy for me, light weights, no impact1 I am usually a high impact junkie. It is the exercise that is getting me through the sleepless nights.
Mel, keep us posted if you have news. I am done having kids and will go back on birth control at my 6 week check up. Me Ms. popularity, too funy! I was the high school geek who hung out with all the honor students and was picked on by the popular kids.

Shopaholic - you sound great - those sleepless nights certainly don’t seem to be affecting your energy! Hope you get some rest, though, and that the nights do get a little easier. I had a ‘frequent feeder’, too and thought I was just spending ALL day and night feeding the little bugger. Within 4-6 weeks, though, it was much better.

Mel, I will be waiting to hear how you're doing... I have to admit that I’ve been ‘thinking’ about the possibility of another one, but I think I’d be a little wigged out if it actually happened before I was done thinking :)! How is your DH doing? You’ve been in my prayers – I haven’t been able to check in regularly, but the last time I did, you had a lot going on! I’ll try to read back through to see what’s up, but in the meantime, a few extra prayers never hurt anyone!

Kristi – I hope your 10K goes well – it’s so impressive to me that there are so many physically fit and active moms around this board. You really keep me motivated – I may even get back to running - you all have really taken away all my excuses! I’m sure your vacationing hasn’t done any noticeable damage, either. Hope you have a great weekend – it sounds like a blast!

We’re in the middle of moving – the PODS have taken 90% of our stuff to a short term storage and DH is already living at our new location (in a hotel) We close next week (we FINALLY found a house that we liked AND can afford :7 ), so hopefully things will be getting back to normal, soon. I’ve been out of the workout mode for MANY weeks, so it will be starting over when I get there. My only excuse is the chaos of house hunting, getting and keeping our house in pristine condition for showings and all the packing has really sucked up every minute. We did the PODS packing and loading ourselves, so maybe that could be counted as working out?

Work has been nuts, too – two more people quit, so the whole workload is being handled by me and another woman who was hired in Dec. so she’s not able to work independently, yet. It’s been a little nuts, but the upside is that, even with no workouts, I’m still at pre-preg weight. Certainly not ‘fit’ but it could be a lot worse.

I’m weaning my baby…makes me kind of sad, but she’s 6 months (my goal) and I was concerned about the quality of my milk with the stress and poor diet (I forget to eat, sometimes). The pumping at work was getting to be a problem, too, since I needed to be pretty much 100% available for client support by phone/email. (It’s hard to pump and type! :)) So, I started making the baby food and we’re bringing in the formula. So far she loves sweet potatoes and orange squash. I think we’ll try avocadoes this week, too. (I LOVE watching them eat things for the first time – this is so much fun for both of us! )

I'll be in and out until we get settled - take care, all! Hope you're all having a great summer!!!

Gracenote, good luck moving! Be proud of yourself for nursing for 6 months. Ashley actually eats less frequent than her big sister, so I actually am doing better this time than last time. Last night was a bad night. Ms. Ashley was awake on and off from 3:30 on. I am planning a nap today.
Heather, I hope you will be joining us moms this week, as it is certainly time for that little(or not so little) to come out!
Mary, I know you are injured but still post here!
