Hi all you mommies,
I think I mentioned it already but Ashley now weighs 9.85 pounds, 22 inches long. Much bigger than sis was at that age. Alexis is still thrilled with her sister but forgets how delicate she is. For example, she pushes and pushes the baby swing. I still have about 3 pounds to lose but can't too bad as a dad at the park was amazed at the shape I was in for a mom of 10 week old and at the mall a salelady asked if Ashley was mine since I looked so trim. My weight I need to lose is in my belly.

Workouts:
Sun-cia cardio step express+tae bo live vol. 4
mon-walk to the park (3.2 miles rountrip with double stroller) +bodybar ready, set, superset+ vert. portion of ready, step.go
Tues-walk to the park+imax 2 blasts and hi/lo from pam c.'s cardio sculpt
Wed-walk to the park+tj turbo sculpt and cardio party 2
Thurs-ready,step,go
Fri-slim and lean-jari love+walk to the park
sat-imax 3 blasts +kickmax blasts

Hello!
Well, Alice is now 9 weeks old and is nearly sleeping through the night (getting up only 1 time to feed)...unfortunately, that did not help my workouts last week. It was a busy week and workouts suffered. Even though I did not have great workouts I was able to keep at least 10,000 steps on my pedometer. I lost 2 pounds last week! Yeah! for some weird reason I have been holding onto 20 pounds since the day I left the hospital...it's very discouraging! I only gained 32 pounds with this pregnancy.

Sunday: Step, Jump & Pump
Monday: off
Tuesday: off
Wednesday: off
Thursday: day at the park
Friday: Core max segment 1
Saturday: off

Oh, well, this week will be better. I already have 2 workouts in... ;)

Alice had her 2 month appointment last Friday and she weighs 13lbs 8oz and is 24 1/2 inches long. I can't believe how big she is already! She got her shots too and I was a mess...the nurse even noticed and handed me a tissue!

Hope all you other mommies are doing good.

Shopaholic - your workouts continue to amaze me!

hi everyone

finn is now 6 weeks old and just over 8lbs. he amazes me daily. we are definately not even close to sleeping thru the night. i feed him every 2.5-3.5 hours around the clock. i am quite tired at this point, but we are doing fine. shopaholic, how long does ashley sleep?

workoouts are fine. i love running but find it hard to fit in with dh's schedule. dvd's have lots of pauses, but i eventually finish. my weight is fine, but my appetite is crazy. i think all i do is eat! thanks to everyone's travel hints and nursing in public hints. i am going to plan a trip for september. since it will be just finn and i, i will either try the poncho or a blanket and nurse when he needs me.

sun- step blast, sjp hi lo only
mon - run 6mil, 20 min strength
tues - run 6.5mil, 20 min strength
weds - imax2 cardio and weights step only, me upper body only,
thurs - run 6.5 mil, legs and glutes
fri - run 6.5 mil
sat - kpc, low max blasts only, plb ball portion only

i have my 6 weeks check up this week but i do not anticipate anything unusual.

curly, i hope you and mollypop are well. mary, hope andrew is thriving on the cereal and perhpas sleeping lots. heather, are you out there? how are things? rachel and linda, are you guys getting any sleep yet? melanie, i keep waiting for you to say you are trying for the next child - how was your 10k? i do not envy you in that midwest heat. christy, i am dreading the 8 week visit. how did your little one do for the 24 hrs after the shots?

have a good week everyone

I am finally getting back to my workouts!! Basically, I did the weights add-on to Basic Step about twice, doing the upper body and lower body on different days. It felt good to get moving a bit. DH, DS and I also have tried taking walks in the evening, but with the heat wave we have to wait until 8 or 9pm for the temps to drop enough to be comfortable for Lincoln. I'm about 5 pounds above my pre-preg weight, and it's been coming off about 1/2 pound a week.

We are currently waking Lincoln every 3-4 hours at night for feeding. He would probably sleep for 5 hours if we let him, but since I'm breastfeeding the doc says we should wait until he's 8 weeks to let him sleep longer. On the flip side, he only takes about two 1-hour naps each day, and cluster feeds in the morning *and* the evening.

Christy - we just had our 4-week appointment (almost 10 pounds, yay!!), and when the doctor explained that Lincoln would get 4 shots I almost cried right there. Did you give your baby some pain Tylenol beforehand?

Morris - You are so brave to take a trip with just the babe! I am going out to lunch today and may experience my first breastfeeding in public. At least in Kansas we're legally allowed to bf anywhere we're allow to be.

Everyone else - your workouts inspire me - I hope to join you soon!

Morris -
Alice handled her shots pretty well. Of course she cried when she got them, but, the next 24 hours were pretty good. If she started to get cranky then I gave her Tylenol and that took care of that. She was really sleepy too and slept most of the next day. What surprised me was that on Sunday she was still a bit cranky - 2 days later. She was fine on Monday and that was 3 days after the shots.

Linda -
I gave Alice Tylenol at the appointment. My doctor had a cheat sheet on the dosage based on her weight. Just like adults, you are able to give them Tylenol every 4-6 hours.
Good luck with the BF in public. I remember my first time - it was a bit scarry and embarassing, but, it gets easier each time. :)

I did the following this week:

Mindy Mylrea - Boot Camp
Cathe - Back, Biceps
Cathe - Chest, Shoulders, Triceps
Cathe - High step challenge (1/2 of it)

I got really sore and tired so I am taking a couple of days off. I think I over did it.

I have my 6 week check tomorrow.

Katie will sleep 3-5 hours beginning at 9 or 10 pm. Then it is every two hours until approx 6:30. This is good for us!

I went back to work on the 31st. Three days a week. My husband is watching this week. Mother in Law next week. Then baby sitter. My older daughter starts 1st grade on the 28th.

Katie only gets one formula bottle a day but we've had to switch her formula twice. She went to soy, now Alimentum. She was throwing up. They also have us giving her pepcid twice a day and I have cut out all dairy from my diet. She seems to be doing better. She was also not pooping alot. Last time she went 8 days! They don't seem to worried because it is soft when she does go. This week was a little better. She went on Sat, Mon and Tues! Never thought I would be so excited about poop!

I still have 10 pounds to lose to get down to pre-pregnancy weight but I want to lose 10 more after that. I dropped the first 22 really fast but now I am really having to watch my diet. I have lost 3 more.

Christy, good job on the 2 pound weight loss. It is odd though that with such a miminal gain, you are still holding onto those extra pounds. Hopefully though they will continue to shed quickly.
Linda/Rachel-you are both smart to ease back into exercise.
Rachel, glad to know I am not the only suplementing with a bottle.
Morris, For the last 2 nights, Ashley slept straight from 10-2 then 2:30-5:30 so I am starting to feel human again. Unfortunately I've had a cold so I still need even more sleep.

I too found Ashley fussy for 2 days after shots. She even cried differently.
You ladies are doing great with the weight loss. Like I said I have 3 pounds to go, but these are sticking. With my first my body held onto 5 pounds though until she was weaned. Its probably because I am non curvy, prepreggo I was wearing size 0'and 1's. Now I am wearing 2's and 4's, so not bad, but not where I want to be.
