hello everyone

i cannot believe i am starting this week, but i had a minute so i thought i would. hope everyone is well. rachel, how did the dr visit go? i hope things are getting better. linda, how are things with linc? have you started cereal? shopaholic, hope your peanuts are doing well - i'd love to see an updated pic. melanie, have you tried the new workouts? i got mine today and am excited.

finn is totally fantastic - all smiles and giggles. he constantly wants too move and loves his johnny jump up. i am very very tired these days. dh has been gone 2.5 weeks and gets in hopefully late fri pm. finn still gets up between 2 and 4 am. i think that will be the case until we start solids at 6 months.

my week
sun - run 9 mil, musc endur
mon - kpc
tues - run 9 mil, legs and glutes
weds - imax 3
thurs - off
fri - step blast, plb stability ball only
sat - run 9mil

As usual, Morris, your workouts inspire me! When your husband is out of town, do you take Finn with you on your runs (or do you use a treadmill?) With the cooler weather I'm having trouble motivating myself to get outside to run, although I am able to get a good workout in the mornings while my boys (ds and dh) are still asleep. My Cathe's are "out for delivery" so I hope to try them out this weekend!

Linc is doing well - he's not breastfeeding directly but I am able to pump all the milk he needs. We have his 4-month appointment today. He's not a very fat baby, and I suspect he'll have fallen in the percentiles since our last visit. I don't really want to start him on any solids (incl. cereal) for at least another month. For now, he goes to bed at 7:00pm, gets up once around 3-4am, and then is up for the day around 7:00am.

I really want to hear about everyone else's lo's this week!

Sun: Yoga
Mon: Karen V Burn and Firm
Tues: Seasun's Bosu Blast (on the step)
Wed: Off
Thurs: Karen V Burn and Firm
Fri: Cathe Step Blast
Sat: Firm Cardio

Hi everyone,
Morris, I am amazed at your workouts, especially with hubby away.
Linda, bosu blast is a fun one on the step, isn't it? Great job pumping, I lost patience with it. Of course, it may have had to do with dd#1's questions, momma, you pumping booby milk, vanilla....?

Ashley is doing well. She remains petite , with no baby fat. I want her metabolism, where is the food going? She nurses in the am, then shortly after has a big bowl of baby oatmeal+ a jar of baby fruit, then may nurse again, has 1-2 jars of baby food for lunch, then later either 8 ounces of formula or nurses, then dinner (same as breakfast) and nurses 1-2 times before bed and she is still fitting into her 0-3 or 306 month clothes at 5 months. She sleeps from about 9 pm-7 am . She is happy most of the time and loves lights and her baby toys and her eyes follow big sis.

My weight remains close to prepreggo and all clothes fit but my belly still isn't flat.

Last week's workouts:
Sun-Kelly c.-ready, step, go +cardio and abs from shape of things to come
Mon-TJ 3T+turbosculpt+TJ PKJ (sipped last section)
Tues-hardcore extreme-high impact-skipped leg drills and added 3 cardio seg. from high step adv(on the same dvd) +bootcamp cardio
Wed-slim and lean+TJ fatblaster
Thurs-cardio toolbox
Fri-Amy b.-adv. step challenge+brand new butt + crunch resculpt-upper
sat-all body cardio-twolbly-cardio only +1st seg from the method cardio bootcamp

I am so envious of all of you that have baby's that sleep! I am writing this after the worst night since she was born! For some reason she decided she was not staying in her bed last night. She picked the worst night possible as I need to clean the house from top to bottom today as we are having out of town guests. This weekend is my older daughter's birthday and we are having the baby's baptism. I also won't get to bed until late as we are taking my older daugther to a Harry Potter party at our science museum and they are showing the movie on the IMAX until 11pm. Also my husband was out of town last night so there was no help.

Per the doctor we have started her on cereal, fruits and vegetables. She eats three times a day in addition to nursing or formula. She has also picked today to master rolling over. Before I could leave her on the floor in whatever room I was in and she would play for a long time. Just since I have been typing this I have had to flip her over 4 times! She can roll over but hates being on her belly.

Most nights she will sleep in her bed but just gets up alot. Last night not only did she get up alot but she wouldn't stay in her bed. I hope this is not a new phase. I never thought I would say this but I cannot wait until she is old enough to cry it out. The doctor says 5-6 months old.

Exercise has been non-existent for me. I really miss it. I got my new DVD's and I cannot wait to try them.

Sorry to vent but I am at the end of my rope! Wish me well.

Rachel - (((((HUGS))))))

Linc sleeps at night, but he absutely hates taking naps. In the mornings I can get him to take a nap if he's on the couch in his boppy (which means I can't leave the room while he's sleeping). In the afternoons that only thing that works is a trip in the car or the stroller. Otherwise, he'll cry for hours. Nothing will soothe him - holding, rocking, feeding, walking while holding him, letting him sit in a quiet room, using a white noise machine...he will scream until we put him in the car seat. The crib is a non-option during naptime, as he screams as soon as he hits the mattress. Soo...I feel your pain (a bit) - If he starts doing this with night-time I don't know what I'll do.

Stick with it. As my mom tells me, you have to do what works for you and baby.

rachel, what is it aboput last night? finn got up every 1-1.5 hours until 4:30 am when i finally got up. i empathize. and the napping thing is very challenging. finn only takes 20-45 minute naps, and only am ones in his crib. i too do the stoller or car ride in the evening sometimes. i think the rolling over is amazing though. finn is not really interested in rolling over:)

i cannot wait for a good nights sleep. or even 5 hours uninterrupted. for now, though, just keep doing my best. and hope for no more nights like last night. linda, i too am waiting to start solids. i just am not ready yet. as for my runs, it has been on my treadmill unfortunately. dh will be home soon, though, and i can go back out with my dog.

Sending cyber hugs to all you tired mommies! I don't agree though with not letting an infant cry it out, let your baby cry for a few minutes in their cribs, turn on a mobile and see, hopefully they will get into the pattern of sleeping in their cribs.
