Goodmorning Ladies :)

I had a pretty good week. Though I had to take it a step down this week due to my asthma. My allergies have gone haywire. My asthma has become a real problem, haven't been this bad since I was little. I've been using my inhaler like 4-5x's a day, so I'm hoping to get on something else this week to help me a little more. It's keeping me from sleeping soundly and I should be sleeping well cause - drumroll please - MIRIAM HAS SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT 4 TIMES THIS WEEK!!! I mean down at 8:00 up at 6:30 :) :) :)!!! I'm so stoked, Anthony didn't sleep through the night till 14 months old!!! I'm not sure if she'll keep it up, though I sure hope so!

So my week starts on Monday:

Monday: nada

Tuesday: elliptical 30 min, inclined walking at level 12 for 15 min

Wednesday: nada

Thursday: nada

Friday: Gym Style Chest & Triceps - my first time, and OUCH!!! I had to sissy the push ups, and cut the amount in half; once I got to the triceps I had to reduce the reps on all of the exercises (well most) I hurt for DAYS! When will I ever be able to finish that one??? I mean I had put off my arms for a good 6 or so weeks, but man that just killed me!

Saturday: walked with family 2+ miles

Sunday: weights at gym for legs 40 min, upper body biceps, shoulders, back freestyle for 30 min

All in all I'm happy but I'd like my eyes to stop itching, weeping, getting crusty, I'd like to breathe out of my nose and last but not least breath clearly with no chest tightness or wheezing... there's always the glimmer of hope. Oh and I'd like the pollen to go away.

That's it :)

good evening. Julie, those allergies were very nasty this past week. My friend's eyes were swollen shut on Saturday and she was due to run a 10 mile trail run that same morning. I think I read that oak and ash pollens were very high. Your walk down Wydown sounds lovely; that's a beautiful street.

We had a busy weekend. I suspected Gus was a bit off so I took him to the ped. today and he has an ear infection. He's also a baby giant, weighing in at 20 pounds at 5 1/2 months (but not even close to sleeping through the night). Hopefully the ear infection will clear and he'll sleep better.

My week (which was derailed by a weekend of eating out with my friends):

Monday: Imax 2
Tuesday: cardio at gym, 50 minutes
Weds: Cardio + WEights, leg press premix from ME
Thursday: nothing
Friday: 4 mile run, pushing stroller
Saturday: 3.5 mile run, with dog
Sunday: nothing

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

Melanie - this is our first little one. Her name is Nadia and she is growing like a weed!

SunndyD - How old is your little one? Nadia has reflux issues too and I am curious how old you little one is that they are getting through it! Did you guys use prevacid?

Julie - I hope the allergies don't get too bad. I used to take Zyertec and it was a life saver on the allergies. Mine have went away now though?

Kristin - I hope Gus gets to feeling better. Poor little guy! How many times is he up at night?

Thanks for the advise on the kidopantomous. I will try to find one of those. Or I may hold off another month and then go for it!

Monday - IMAX 3 and Core Max
Tuesday - Run 3 miles walk 1
15 minutes weights
Wednesday - Run 3 miles walk 1
15 minutes weights
Thursday - Run 2.5 miles
15 minutes weights
Friday - rest
Saturday - Run 3.5 miles
Sunday - rest

We have reverted now and Nadia isn't sleeping as long at night, so I am wearing down by the end of the week, but still trying hard to get it all in! I am hoping it is just a growth spurt and it will be over in a couple of weeks.

Hello all!

This past week went well. I lost another pound, but would still like to lose another 10. My workouts were great. As usual, no strength training. I was going to do some yesterday, but instead I had to take DD back to the doctor again. She has another ear infection. This makes her 6th one in 7 ½ months. On May 10th we see the Ear, Nose, & Throat Specialist about getting tubes. I’ll be so glad when her ears are not bothering her anymore.

Here are my workouts from last week:
Monday – Rest
Tuesday – Ran 3.5 miles
Wednesday – Imax 2 Premix Intervals 6-10
Thursday – Ran 3.5 miles
Friday – rest
Saturday – rest
Sunday – Ran 7 miles & push mowed lawn (1 hour)

I’m so excited. 7 miles is the farthest I have ever ran. It felt great to run it with no problem. It took me an hour and 18 minutes, which is probably pretty slow, but at least I did it.

Julie – Sorry to hear about your allergies and asthma. I had to suffer through the allergies all spring and summer last year while pregnant with DD without any relief. I completely understand how hard this must be on you. Hopefully this will pass really soon. Are any meds helping? Congrats on Miriam sleeping through the night. I hope to try the Gym Styles soon. It won’t be pretty. I probably won’t be able to walk or move my body for days. Keep up the good work!

Kristan – Sorry to hear about Gus’s ear infection. The poor guy. Your workouts look great! I’ve noticed your increase in running. What is the farthest you have ever ran?

Annette – Your workouts look great too!! Nadia is a beautiful name.

SunnyD – I’m so glad to hear Jaden has outgrown his reflux. How is your eating this week?

Oh my gosh!!!! I just typed for about 10 minutes and lost everything!!! I'm way too frustrated to retype, so I'll recap!!!

Turbo Jams, and running for workouts. I"m Cathe'd out for now. I'll be able to get back into swing of Cathe workouts in a couple of weeks, but for now I need a fresh break!!

Sunny, I got Mindy's vids TODAY. I will try bootcamp tomorrow. I don't think you will like Turbo Jams b/c you didn't care much for first batch.

DH quit smoking this week.

Little Justin (our 2 year old) is scheduled for surgery next month...as we found out he has two rotten front teeth & needs a root canal too. :( We're pretty freaked out about it, but we'll get through it. It's treatable and we feel fortunate that our kids are so healthy.

Kristan & Julie your workouts look great

Kristi, seven miles is awesome. You should consider 1/2 marathon.

Annette, love the name of your babe!

Gotta go before I lose my message again!

Julie – So sorry to hear about your allergies! They sound just terrible – your workouts are going great, especially considering how much more effort it takes when you’re not feeling well! Hope you’re still getting a full night’s sleep, too- that makes such a difference in your energy levels

Kristan – hope Gus’s ear is better – that’s always such a tough deal when they’re so little…Big wow on the workouts! From your post in the last thread, I was going to commiserate – we just had the stomach virus 10 day cycle – DD#2 had it twice before it was over  :)

Annette – Hello and a belated welcome! We’ve got reflux issues, here, too. I’ve been trying to do smaller, more frequent feedings, added in some cereal, different positions for sleeping, etc. I think we’re resigned to just waiting for it to resolve itself. Our little one is 5 months, so hopefully it won’t be too much longer. Your week looked great for running – I’m hoping to add in some runs soon. My SIL just finished the Boston Marathon last week, so she’s my inspiration – 40 yrs old with 2 kids and she’s AMAZING!

Kristi – I sure hope the ear tubes help – ours were a lifesaver! It made such a difference when DD (18 months at the time) wasn’t on antibiotics all the time. She outgrew the first set and didn’t need a second. The tubes are really tiny – they look like a teeny little version of those things in sneakers where the laces go (grommets?). As the child grows, they are pushed out of the eardrum and just fall out. We actually saw the second one, but the first must have fallen out without us noticing it. Good luck, and if there’s any comfort/information I can offer just let me know! (I was a wreck when they took DD away to do the procedure, but she was FINE!!)

Melanie – Way to go for DH! I sure hope he makes it with as little discomfort as possible. (And hope you don’t have too much of his grumpiness to deal with!) I’ll be hoping the dental surgery goes well, too – I didn’t know they would do a root canal for a 2 yo?! DH had one last year and it was $$$

Sunny – Glad to hear you love the jogging stroller! Which one did you get? Wonderful to hear that the reflux is gone. How long did that take? Does it help to start solid foods at a particular point or is it just something you have to wait to grow out of? (Don't mean to sound desperate but you're giving me hope!!) :)

(Did I forget anyone? Sorry! I'll try to catch up later!!)

It’s been a bad spell as far as workouts here. DH has been going to PT three times a week, and I’ve been working OT in the evenings (work is NUTS!) There’s no time left, it seems, but I know we (DH and me, both!) have to make it a priority. I’ve been trying to watch my diet more carefully to make up for the lack of exercise, so I’m still hovering at pre-preg weight. (Stomach flu helped with that one - haha) but fitness-wise, I’ll be starting all over when I get back to it, that’s for sure!! :p

On the moving front, DH is having a second interview next Monday and we should know by the end of that week if we’re moving. It’s about 95% certain that we will be, so I started researching schools, houses, fixing up this house for sale, etc. On a VERY positive note, I talked to the powers that be at work and they believe we can work out a way for me to stay with the company and work from home. We were very relieved to hear that – I was worried about taking the time to job-hunt and interview along with everything else. So, here’s fingers crossed that it all works out and that the whole moving experience goes well. Any tips? I feel so excited and nervous at the same time!

Anyway - hope you all have a great week - I'll try to get back on the wagon ASAP - you are all such great motivators!! Keep posting the results and progress!
