Hi Mommies:)

How was everyones week? Not alot of chatting going on here so everyone must have been fairly busy.

Kristine, they are so cute when they start to smile and cue. Rylan will smile at us now when we are across the room so I am assuming that he can see everything now. He is such a good baby and such a joy to have in the house! Im sure you feel the same way about your little one.

Annie, nice to hear you are getting some workouts in and the scale is going down. It does take a while to get our bodies back and I don't know why we think it should take a week or two. Maybe its just wishful thinking!?:) But we will get there. I just can't wait till this snow melts and I can get out with the stroller. I think he is going to enjoy the outdoors.

Stacy, I was very sick last week but this week was so much better. You also got some great workouts in, hope this week was just as good! I still don't know how you fit it all in with all those kiddos you have in your house:)

Rylans sleeping as been better this week. He hasn't been going to bed until 11:30-1 a.m but he will sleep until 4:30 or 5 and then up again when the sun is up so its only like one night time feeding really. We go back to sleep though after his 7 feeding and we don't get up until 10 ish.
He is having his needle this friday so I am not looking forward to that. I know it will be over in no time though and every baby as to do it!

Lets see if I can remember my workouts this week:

Mon- GS B,B,&S, and a a workout from the hardcore extreme dvd
Tues- Imax 2 and abs
Wed- GS C&T, & 40 min interval run
Thurs- off
Fri- 5 mile run (55 min)
Sat- DM and abs (first time doing this workout! It was a goodie:) )

I think Thursdays will be my day off. I ran into a girl I know last week and they invited me to their baby group on Thurday mornings! I am so excited to be finally involed in something. They meet at 9:30 thursday mornings though so that may be hard for us to get out of the house and when I have them over here I have to get up early enough to have my house tidied up and get dressed! I will probably invite them over here next Thursday. I don't have any toys though for the older kids to play with.
The scale didn't move this week and Im not sure why. So last night I threw out all of the sweets in the house and i am going to be super good this week. I want to see 140 lbs next Sunday.

Alright, enough chatting. Fill me in on what your week was like!
Lori:)

Hi mommies,

Lori - Wow, you are doing some incredible and long workouts, where do you take all the strength??? I wanted to do to GS back to back last week, but I was totally wiped out after just one x(. A baby group sounds great. I am trying to find one in my area as well, I think that is something really neat and you have some adults to talk to as well ;) .

Well, my week has been a little rough, I started my period on Monday x( :-( and it was pretty heavy and I didn't feel very good for about 2 days. What a bummer, I thought I wouldn't have it for quite a while. I just started the mini pill, so maybe that's why. And also my ankle is swolled up and hurts, but I have no idea why, so I took a little break. It's still swolled up, but at least it barely hurts.

So, here are my workouts from last week:
Sun - 20 min treadmill hill climb and floor work and abs from Butts and Gutts
Mon - off
Tue - off
Wed - off
Thu - 30 min treadmill walk
Fri - GS Chest and Back
Sat - GS Back, Biceps and Shoulders

Heidi is doing great. She weighs 11 1/2 lbs now. She is a little grumpy during the day and at night, so I am not sure if it is colic or stomach ache or boredom, we still trying to figure that out.
I know that sometimes she is really exhausted at night and that's wiy she is crying because she barely sleeps during the day. But other than that, she is so adorable and so cute!!!!
We went to Toysrus today and bought her some toys.
She now sleeps in her room in her crib since Monday and she is doing really well, she is just getting to big for the bassinet, so it's time for her to sleep in her crib.

Hope everybody else is doing well.

Have a great week
Kristine :)

Kristine, Im not sure where I get the energy from! I know I don't jump as high as I normally would and I have been doing my workouts on a 6 inch step instead of a 8 inch. My joints hurt a little though in the beginning but it eases off as the workout continues.
Rylan is also the same weight as Heidi. He was 11 lbs 7.5 oz on Thrusday. He is also getting to big for his bassinet but Im breastfeeding and will keep him in the room for as long as I can.
Rylan likes to fight the sleep in the night time . I think he gets over tired b/c he doesn't sleep much during the evening.
I am looking forward to the baby group. I was kinda hoping to find one that was on a Tues or Wed b/c I go out to Burps on Thurs afternoon anyway so there are lots of moms to talk to there. I was just hoping to break my grown up conversations up during the week...oh well, Ill take whatever I can get.:)

Hi Everyone!
Busy weekend and crazy week last week. Ryan finally got over his bad head cold and is feeling soooo much better today. We had a tough weekend as he was really fussy and not taking good naps during the day. I hate it when babies get sick, it's so stressful and I feel so bad for them because you can't really give them any medicine.

Lori, sounds like you're having awesome workouts and getting closer to your goal weight. That's great news. I'm still 15lb off of where I'd like to be, but trying to be patient. I know it will drop off eventually! I tried on a pair of size 10 jeans, and can almost fit into them:( Grrr..come on scale, move!

Kristine, sorry to hear you've been feeling bad and that Heidi is a bit fussy. My first two kids had colic really bad for the first 3-4 months, so I totally understand the stress. I hope Heidi doesn't have colic, but if she does, just know that it DOES go away and she'll be in a much better mood. Babies generally grow out of colic at around the 3-4 month timeframe.

That's great you both moved your babies to cribs too, I think they actually sleep better in the crib (lots of space). You might even find they will sleep in longer blocks in the crib (althouth it sounds like Heidi is already doing that). One tip for nightime sleep I learned with my kids, it's a great idea to establish a nightime routine because babies love routine. So, if you want to get your baby to bed at a certain time try to do the same thing every night. For example, I take Ryan in his room around 7:30 or 8pm every night and give him a bottle and rock him in the glider with just the nightlight on. He generally falls asleep pretty quickly after eating, and if he's a bit restless I just keep rocking him until he falls asleep. Cutting back on overstimulation (t.v., loud noise, etc.) can really help. The point is having the same routine every night so they learn to associate nusery/rocker=bedtime. Hope that makes sense. I'm sure you both have gotten tons of advice on parenting, but I've found that to be a lifesaver for me.

Lori, I wanted to tell you how lucky I am to have such a supportive husband (and kids) with the workouts, and being an at home mom in general. The family is used to my workouts, and the kids have always seen me working out so to them it's normal in our house. That helps a lot, and they are so awesome about letting me do my workouts. It also helps that my son is 5 1/2 and my daughter is nearly 4. They're at good ages to play together now and also go to preschool 3 afternoons a week.

So, here's what I did last week:

Monday – FitPregnancy Postnatal (Cardio/Strength/Core-35min)
Tuesday – Rest Day
Wednesday – Cathe F. Basic Step (30min)
Thursday – Leisa Hart FitMama Postnatal (Cardio & Yoga – 30min)
Friday – Cathe F. Basic Step (30min) & Arms Toning (10min)
Saturday – Rest Day
Sunday – Elliptical (20min) & Postnatal Core Conditioning (20min)

Have a great week everyone!

:) ;)

Hi Stacy,

Having a supportive husband is half the battle , isn't it? I can't imagine it any other way and I pity people who do almost everything themselves.Glad to hear Ryan is feeling better

Ive thought about getting Rylan on a schedule but I thought he was to young. He takes a nap in the a.m, then he pretty much naps all afternoon, then he may take another small nap around 8 and then he is awake until 11:30. And boy, does he fight the sleep in the night time! I wouldn't think a baby his age would know the difference but he squirms and wiggles and while he is doing this, his eyes are half closed. DH thought he had the gas last night but I knew what it was.

Hope everyone gets some good workouts this week. I plan on getting that scale to MOVE!
Lori:)

Hi everyone,

Everyone seems to bedoing really well and I am amzed by how much exercise ya'll manage to fit in! inspirational!

I was too busy yesterday to check in...Edie was being checked out by an opthamologist b/c we suspect she has sight problems. Will know more, or the extent of her problems rather, in a few months. But, she's growing and getting bigger...so, as she gets less dependent upon me and used to her dad in the evenings, I am able to fit some workouts in. Last week I squeezed in the Firms Cardio Fat Burning, Kathy Smiths Kickboxing, and Cathe's Body Fusion. I also lost another pound - whew...slow start, but I am so relieved the scale is moving in the right direction!

I started going to some baby groups - it has been a lifesaver. I was feeling too cooped up. I also met another new mother in our neighborhood and we have long walks scheduled weather permitting.

Stacey - I am trying to get into a size 10 too! Probably need to lose another 10 before that happens - I'll get there eventually!

Kristine - do you think that Heidi could just be tired? Edie gets really fussy when she gets overtired and just cries it out while I hold her. She gets worse as the day progresses.

I hope everyone has a great week.

Annie

Hi again everyone!

Lori, Rylan may be a bit young for a schedule yet, but I'm guessing you'll be able to get him better adjusted to night time sleep soon. It seems like the first 3 months are fairly inconsistent with the whole napping/sleeping at night stuff. I'm still up twice a night myself with Ryan and am looking forward to the longer blocks of sleep once he can take in more formula and starts solids at 4 months. That helps a lot.

Annie, I'm glad to hear someone else is aiming for the size 10:) I swear I stand in the bathroom and just stare down my scale willing it to go down. I'm trying to make myself only weigh in about once a week so I don't go crazy! It will happen though. I keep making small dietary changes to really clean up my eating. This week I switched to skim milk (from 2%). I've cut out all chips and fast food as well, and strangely, don't miss it at all.

Everyone hang in there as we get through the first few months of fussiness and lack of sleep, believe me, it does get MUCH easier and you'll be amazed how calm your babies will be in a few months. I'm just so thrilled my little guy is smiling and cooing. LOVE that:) :) Amazing how a little baby smile puts me in the best mood even when I'm exhausted.

Okay, time for some stretching and postnatal core work....

Stacy, I think I will start trying to set a better schedule in a month or so. Right now, he just as his own and we go by that one:) I think I have really adjusted to the lack of sleep. I think your body will get use to anything after a while.

Annie, good job on the workouts and those jeans will fit in no time!

The scale as started moving for me again but I have been really watching it the last couple of days. I fit into some of my old jeans but its been a while since I tried some of the other pairs on, I may try them today..will I make myself happy or MAD?}(

Lori:)

Lori,
did the jeans fit? I can't squeeze myself into some of my old pairs! x(it's going to be a few more months before those will fit again!

good luck:)

Yepper! They fit, they were tight of course but I got them done up! I wore them all day with a blouse over so you couldn't see any rolls! LOL And everyone kept telling me that I look like i am back to normal but I don't think anyone can see our final 10 lbs only ourselves.
It was nice to fit back into them and it keeps me focused on my goals
Lori:)

Whoo hoo!! Glad they fit:) You inspired me to try on a pair of size 10's a friend of mine is letting me borrow, and low and behold they fit!! I've got a bit of a roll as well on the top, but nothing that a good shirt doesn't cover:) Also, the scale has moved for me finally! I've gone down 2 more pounds!!

Good fot you! Its so exciting isn't it? I don't even care to go shopping b/c it feels as if I have a whole new wardrobe. I have jeans that I didn't even get to wear before I was preggo b/c they were to long and I never had them taken up.
Gotta love the roll hang out over:D I think its amazing how fast our bodies go back.
I also read on the babyfit forum that the body likes to hold on to fat until you are 12 weeks PP, I wonder if there is any truth to that? maybe the weightloss will be a bit easier after 12 weeks.
Lori:)

Congratulations everybody on the weight loss, that is great!!!!!!

I think the scale starts finally moving for me as well, yipee!!!

Well, I don't fit in 10s yet, but hopefully it won't be to long before I will. Most of my clothes are 8s, so it'll be awhile before I fit in those.

Yes, I heard that about losing weight easier after 12 weeks as well, I sure hope so. ;)

Kristine :)
