Hi Mommies,

How was everyones week? I think we did a fair bit of chatting this week. We normally don't talk that much but time is a factor in our lives right now:)
My friend had a baby boy this week and I remember now how bad it was back then! Hour long feedings! Ugh, and she has two other small boys as well. She as her hands full, hopefully the baby will be good to her and it won't be nearly as hard with a happy baby. Her last one was colic so she is keeping her fingers crossed.

I lost another 4 lbs this week! I really stuck to my WW's program, didn't eat my activity points or my flex points. I really think that is the key for me. Last week I ate my activity points and dipped into my flex points and my weight didn't move. I also seem to have lots of milk so everything is going good.
I received lots of compliments today about how I got my body back already but I see lots of things that need improvement and I still have 10 lbs to lose. I fit into most of my jeans but my tops are a problem. All of my clothes before were a size small and I can't fit these boobs into a small top anymore! SO when I try on my tops they end up riding up like a belly shirt:) NICE! LOL

So my workouts this week were:

Sun- HSC & 25 min interval run
Mon- B&G & 3 mile run
Tues- 6 mile run
Wed- LIC
Thurs- 4 mile run
Fri- BM2
Sat- 8 miles run (90 mins)

No day off as you can see but thats o.k. I had baby group on Thurs and I got up early to get a run in. It was nice to have it done, it was even nicer to have a baby group to go to! This week baby group is at my house so I won't get to workout before hand. I may have to take a rest day that week.
I hope everyone as a good week and I hope your babies are being good.
Lori:)

Hi everyone! How are you all, and how are the new little babies?
Hope you all had a great weekend and got some rest.

Lori, fantastic about the weight loss and your workouts are awesome! That's so great you are able to get long workouts in, I'm sure it's really helping with the weight loss. Your baby group sounds really neat too. I'm a member of a local mom's club here and find it to also be a wonderful support.

My weekend was super busy! We hosted a baby shower for some good friends of ours who are expecting a baby boy in early April. It was a lot of fun and a lot of work. I was exhausted on Sat. evening, and recovering today. I was able to get 5 workouts in, but have found I have to be creative to fit them in when Ryan is napping. He is going through a tough stage right now where he is having a hard time napping during the day. Some days he only gets about 2 hours of sleep the entire day and is pretty fussy (overtired I'm sure). Then, he'll have a catch up sleep day and sleep most of the day. I feel bad for him, and it's tiring for us as well. The good part is he is sleeping well at night, not all the way through, but good long stretches and he is easy to get down. He has his 2 month check up on Tuesday and I'm anxious to talk to his doctor about the sleep issues during the day. I'm guessing it's just him adjusting to the world, and perhaps even having some tummy issues as he tends to spit up a lot when I lay him down. In any case, he should grow out of it in another month or so as his tummy develops more and adjusts.

So, as far as workouts and weight loss. Still eating clean and now trying to increase intensity and duration of my workouts as much as I can. Some days I can't work out until the evening after Ryan goes to bed, so I'm doing the best I can. I'm also at the beginner/intermediate level with the Cathe workouts, so I have a lot to build up to. I'm doing a variety of workout dvd's at this point and trying to gradually build up to more advanced workouts. Sorry fo the novel! Here's what I did last week:

Monday – Cathe F. Basic Step (30min) & Upper Body Toning(20min)
Tuesday – Postnatal Core conditioning & Stretch (30min)
Wednesday – Gin Miller Simply Step (35min)
Thursday – Rest Day
Friday – Leisa Hart FitMama Postnatal (Cardio & Yoga – 30min)
Saturday – Rest Day
Sunday – Elliptical (30min) & Postnatal Core work (10min)

Have a great week everyone:)

Hi everyone,

Another impressive week as far as how everyone's workouts are going! I am sure Lori, being able to workout for so long and cut down on your flex points has aided your weight loss efforts considerably! I am past the 12 week mark and it's official: my weight is finally coming off. I lost 2 pounds this week.

Stacey - I am also having a very hard time with Edie's napping. She cries herself to sleep each time and can get herself so worked up. It can take me 45 minutes to get her to sleep and then she only stays asleep for 20 minutes! No time for getting any workouts in. I have to wait until dh comes home around 7pm to fix dinner and get some time to exercise. She does have a longer nap in the late afternoon between 3-5, but only if I sleep with her. If you find out any tips on how to get your LO down to sleep better - please let me know! Edie is only getting in about 2.5 hours during the day and 8 at night! I am worried abuot it too, but not finding the health care advice helpful. I just get a 'it's normal' response.

This is my first baby and I am finding it very hard - we found out last week that our daughter is nearly blind at this point. It really breaks my heart - I just want that instant gratification of my daughter's smile at me and eye contact. That will all come later in a year or so.

Strangely, she wakes easily to light/dark - we are far north so the sun is coming up at 6am right now - and she wakes at 7 b/c of it despite blackour lining in the curtains. And b/c her eyes haven't developed well - her ears and hearing are fantastic and wakes to every creaky floorboard under the carpet, so we tiptoe around!

On the plus side, I am fitting in workouts and losing weight albeit slowly. I did Cathe's Step Fusion again this week - and it's killing me!! I feel like a creaky old woman from the step aerobics section. I also added Karen Voight's Great Weighted workout arms and legs, Cathe's KickMax and Tamilee Webbs Cardio Blast. I have a long way to go to find Cathe's workouts comfortable again. I am just finding step hard right now - might be my extra weight!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Annie:)

Hi Girls!

I thought abou it after and I didm't even add much baby stuff to my post:eek: What a terribe mom I am!

I forgot to mention that Rylan had his 2 needles on Fri. It broke my heart but he is over it now. He had some pain in his legs on Fri night and Sat morning but that was about it.I was really nervous that he wasn't going to eat much and my milk would decrease but being the gull that he is...there is nothing thats gonna stop him from eating! LOL

Stacy, you got some good workouts in as well. You know, Rylan sleeps a fair bit through out the day still (although he is awake more now then before) and I find it hard to get him down at night. And the last 2 nights he woke up twice to be fed.I hope he is going through another growth spurt and that this isnt his new schedule! But he really fights the sleep in the evenings. The 2 feedings at night are really hard on me b/c Ive been use to only one for the last couple of weeks and ive felt good in the mornings. Good news is..I have reintroduced coffee! It doesnt feel like its working today though:)

Annie, is there any chance that your baby may see? You must be heartbroken! Did you see the women on Dr.Phil the other day. She as triplets who are all deaf and blind, she as no way of communicating with them. But like you say, Annies hearing is probably even better now b/c she can't see very well.
So its true about the weight loss after 12 weeks? Ive been doing good so I can't imagine losing weight much faster then I already am. Im wondering though if I will end up going below my goal b/c I am breastfeeding and then end up packing it back on after.I stil have a nice roll thoughx( I wonder how like it will take for that to go away????

Alright, prehaps we will be chatting again later this week. Have a good one!
Lori:)

Hi All!

Annie, so sorry to hear about your daughter's vision. Is her blindness temporary or permanent? I imagine that is very difficult to deal with, so hang in there.

As far as sleep issues, I had my 2month check up for Ryan this morning and discussed his lack of napping during the day. I realized that part of what was keeping him up during the day was that he recovered from a bad head cold and had mucus in his tummy that was causing him to spit up and be uncomfortable while lying down. Now that he's past that, I'm now starting to let him cry it out when it's obvious he's tired and needs to sleep (I was going in and picking him up too quickly rather than letting him settle himself). I do believe each baby is different, and my kids have certainly taught be that. But, I do know from experience that this really is normal and the babies will get on a better schedule as they mature a bit. I bet you'll see big changes in the next month or so. I would continue to let her cry and settle herself down. Also, even though she is only sleeping 20min, you could always let her fuss in her crib even after she wakes up. She just might settle back down and sleep more. It's whatever is comfortable for you and what your doctor recommends I think. My doctor advocates crying it out and just said to make sure and distinguish the cry (i.e. if the baby is in pain or seems so worked up that he/she won't go back to sleep, then you'll need to pick the baby up and comfort them). Hope that makes some sense. I've also found the book What to Expect the First Year to be a great resource, so you might check that out.

Okay, sorry for the lengthy response! Ryan is getting better naps in the last few days and I think may be getting back on track. Big relief.

Hopefully my scale will move a bit this week, still working out faithfully and trying to increase length and intensity of cardio. Also eating really clean.

Go away extra pounds!!! x(I'm anxious to see if the weight drops more quickly at around the 12week post partum point....

Hi ladies,

Sorry, I am late checking in this week, but I am trying to get my taxes done and of course Heidi is keeping me busy ;) .

Here are my workouts from last week:

Sun - S&H Legs and Shoulders
Mon - LIC Cardio only Premix
Tue - Muscle Max
Wed - off
Thu - 45 min treadmill climb
Fri - off
Sat - off (very tired, so I decided not to work out :-( )

I am not quite sure if that's the right order I did my workouts, oh well, I know I did them though :D .

Heidi had her two month check up today and her first set of shots. She now weighs 10 lbs. 13.5 oz. (wow, I thought she is a lot heavier by now) and 25 1/4 inches long.
The shots weren't no fun at all. :-( Poor little thing, five shots!!! It is heartbreaking, but we both are doing ok now ;-) .

Lori - Congrats on the weight loss, that is great and your workouts are awesome as always! Yeah, the shots are no fun, are they? And there are more to come x( .

Stacey - Heidi had that for a while too, that I wouldn't be able to really get her to sleep during the day and yes, it makes a really fussy baby in the evening, but she is doing good now on her naps during the day. Just hang in there, it'll get better.

Annie - So sorry to hear about your daughter. Is this going to be permanent or will her eyesight improve? Congratulations on the weight loss, I am glad to hear that it'll come of easier after the 12 week mark, I can't wait ;-).

Heidi is doing great. She smiles more and more and it is just too cute. Nothing is really important anymore except her, I just can't get enough of her and I am so glad I am staying home with her, so I won't miss out on anything. :)
She was waking up a couple of nights in the middle of the night and I had a night there I fed her at 3:45 in the morning but she normally still sleeps her 6-8 hours at night.

Still not really going anythere with the weight loss and I have my period again x( , so the water retention is not helping when stepping on the scale. My pants seem looser though, so there is still hope ;-) .

Alright ladies, gotta get Heidi ready for bed. I sure hope that she'll sleep ok after her shots.

Kristine :)

Kristine, 5 shots?!!!! She must have thought that it was never gonna end! Rylan only gets 2. And he gets the same 2 at 4 monthes and again at 6 m. He did o.k with them but his legs hurt that night and part of Sat.
He is getting weighed again tomorrow so I am anixous to see how much he as gained again. He seemes to be putting on 1/2 pound a week! The rolls on his legs are to cute.
Baby group here tomorrow morning, Im looking forward to that. I miss being social and I think I am more outgoing now then I was before cause I am so happy to talk to people who talk back.LOL
I keep putting my taxes off...but I soon gotta get them done.Im assuming I will have to pay in again!
