Post Partum Check In Sept 30

Hi mommies,

Looks like everyone is busy, so I thought I start the check in.

Here is what I did last week:

Sun - 60 min treadmill run
Mon - ???
Tue - ???
Wed - Push and Pull
Thu - off
Fri - C&W
Sat - 45 min treadmill run

Well, not quite sure what workouts I did, but I know I worked out 6 days last week, yeah!!!

Anyway, Heidi and I are doing fine. We finally found a mommies group and went to a playdate today and on Thursday we are going to go to another one. I think that Heidi really likes it.

Well, on Sunday I nursed Heidi in the morning for the last time ;( . She just wasn't into it anymore and so she slowly started weaning herself. So on Monday morning I gave her a bottle instead of nursing her and she took the bottle and started drinking like this is totally normal  ;( ;) . My goal was to nurse her for at least 6 months and I got that accomplished, but it is such a bonding thing that I am a little sad, but it'll be ok. So now I am hoping that my body was holding onto the extra fat for nursing purposes and that I finally will drop those last pounds, so I can finally fit in my clothes again!!!

Other than that, Heidi is happy as she can be and just loves crawling through the house and chasing the dogs ;) .

I hope that everyone is doing well and I am looking forward to hear from you.

I will be checking back later
Kristine :)

Hi, Kristine,

Thanks for starting the thread. I really just wanted to post right now to get on the e-mail notifications. We're about to put Ella to bed, and then I'm soooo hitting the sack . . .until she wakes me for a feeding . . . LOL!

Morning moms!

Kristine, thanks for starting the check in and great job on getting 6 workouts in! Sorry about the breastfeeding, but at least Heidi is taking the bottle okay, I know that sometimes can be a tough adjustment for a baby.

Chrissy, hope all is well with little Ella too!

Had a tough week and a half guys, Ryan and Emma came down with terrible head colds that turned into ear infections. Lots of lost sleep hear and now I feel run down and on the edge of a cold. Sorry to complain, just feeling blah cause I haven't been able to work out in over a week. Hoping to do something today but will see how I feel. The good news is my kids are doing much better and I imagine will be over their colds soon (they're both on antibiotics).

Okay, hope everyone is doing well and getting better workouts than me!!

Good morning everyone!

~Kristine - I understand the sadness when nursing ends. I loved that special time too. But, if you are like me, when I stopped nursing my first daughter, I finally lost those last few pounds I was holding on to. I read somewhere that until we wean, our body is still in the pregnancy cycle and our body holds onto that fat for protection for the baby. I guess that is good, we just don't like it. So hopefully those last few pounds will come off now.

~Stacey - Oh I am so sorry. Sick kids are never fun. It is hard work for you, that is for sure. I'm glad to hear that they are pulling through it and I hope you don't get it. Don't worry about missing a week of workouts....I have a feeling you worked hard enough last week with 2 sick.

Well, workouts were a little bit better last week. I'm still only finding 30 min to do my workouts, but 30 min is better than nothing. I am still getting in a good 30 min walk with the girls everyday as well.

Mon - PUB (30 min)
Tue - PLB (30 min)
Wed - off
Thur - PUB (rest of video)
Fri - PLB (rest of video)
Sat - off
Sun - off

Hi Robin,
Thanks for the kind words! You're right, I probably did work hard enough last week taking care of 2 sick kids!! Poor things.

Great workouts, and I think walking is such a great form of exercise. I'm hoping to get a walk in later with Ryan.

Have a good one;)

Chrissy - Hope Ella let you sleep for a while before she woke up again for a feeding!

Stacey - Oh no, so sorry to hear that you had two sick kids at home, but I am glad to hear they are getting better. Just rest and make sure that you are well before you worry about exercising. A walk tonight sounds good!

Robin - Yes, it is such a special and wonderful time! I am pretty sure I finally will be able to shed those last few pounds. What you said was exactly what I think was going on with my body, so it is nice to have my body back for myself ;-) . You are doing great on your workouts. 30 min is better than not at all and you walk every night, so that's great.

Hope you all have a great day
Kristine :)

Hey, gals,

Stacey, I am so sorry you are feeling run down - I am right there with you! I went to the doctor today because of the pain I was having in my left breast and the FEVER I came down with - low and behold, I have joined the mastitis club!!! Oh hurray!

So needless to say, I'm feeling like crap, and I'm trying to keep up with Ella. Thank goodness DH is home right now. I basically handed her over and said, "Mommy needs a break!!!!!" It feels like my eyeballs are on fire!

*sigh* Ahhh motherhood. DH said he now knows why kids make a bigger deal of Mother's Day than they do Father's Day . . .LOL!

Chrissy

Oh no Chrissy! Mastitis is HORRIBLE! I had it twice with my first daughter and I have not gotten it with number two (knock on wood). Take as much down time as you can and sleep as much as you can. And as painful as it is, have your little girl nurse on that side a lot to help clear it out. It hurts, but it will help you get better more quickly. Hope you can get some good rest and that clears up quickly for you.

Hey Moms!

Sounds like we have some sick babies and mommies in the house?. Things here are as normal. Rylan is getting sookier (if thats a word:) ) by the day!:) When I leave the room he as a mini melt down so I have to come back and get him! LOL Im sure he knows what he is doing and thats why he cries! haha

Last week I decided to email my boss with what the labour board had sent me plus my thoughts on the situation. I spoke with one of the girls on Sat and she said, he asked her what her thoughts were and she told him. With that, i thought he might be comming around. Sure enough, yesterday he called me to tell me I would be comming back full time. I think speaking with my co-worker made him realize that none of them wanted to work full time, they were just doing it to keep their part time status. He went above and beyond yesterday even asking about my babysitter and so on. So now, I can't beleive that in 4 weeks I have to leave my baby! Wahhhhhhhhhh! Actually, I know I will miss him for the first couple of days but I think I will be thinking about hime, wondering where I am and who are these strange people! I think he will love the babysitter once he gets use to her! Lets hope anyway! As for the babysitting job I was thinking about taking, as hard as it will be for me to leave Rylan I think I will enjoy my days off with him much more if it is just me and him. If I have 4 boys all week long...I think I will be passing Rylan off to daddy on the weekends so I think it may be better for us this way!

Here are my workouts from last week!

Sun-KPC & MM
Mon-4 Mile run
Tues- Gualant
Wed- 75 Mins run
Thurs-BM2
Fri-75 MIns run
Sat-75 mins run

Ktistine, I hear ya on the whole bf'ing thing! My heart was broke but after a while he enjoyed the bottle much more. I don't think he was getting as much milk as I thought he was getting plus he got it faster from the bottle. It was a pain mixing bottles at first but now its just part of my day. We did good though! You lasted a little longer then me but my goal was Aug and I made it.

Chrissy, I hope you feel better soon. Nothing worse then being sick with a little one in the house!

Stacy, glad to hear the kiddies are feeling better! When you have more then one kid its bound to go right through the house. Hope your not catching it! I think us mothers stay to on the go to get sick very often!

Robin, your right 30 mins is better then nothing. You will figure it all out and eventually be working out a little longer.

Alright girls, enjoy your week, whats left of it;) I think Im gonna get a workout started....what to do, what to do????
Lori:)
