Post partum check-in May 20th

Cathlete
Hey gals. DH has "grounded" me from the computer...as he says I"m spending too much on it and less time focusing on him. So, we agreed I'd only go on when little ones are sleeping. No more "I"m going to check my e-mail I'll be back in 5 minutes"!!!!

My week: My 2year olds surgery was a success. He's doing well. DH is sick again & landed in ER late last night. They kept him overnight and discharged him this afternoon...with still no idea what is wrong with him. I was just floored! Why admit someone & then discharge them without troubleshooting the problem? Urgh! So, we will probably end up going to Mayo in Rochester to figure out what's going on with him. :( I was planning a trip to my Moms this week (she's never seen baby jadon) but we'll have to see how DH is doing first.

Got my new jogger, long story...but now I have THREE jogging strollers. I have a couple up for auction on eBay. Let know if you're intersted. ;)

Sun: 45 min run
Mon: off
Tue: 45 min run
Wed: TJ Cardio Party 3
Thurs: 45 min run
Fri: TJ Punch Kick & Jam
Sat: TJ Cardio Party 1 + 45 min run

I"m hoping for an uneventful & healthy week for the family!

~Melanie~

Mel, I hope your hubby gets diagnosed soon and gets back on his feet. How awful! I understand about being grounded from the computer many of mine and hubby's arguments are over my internet addiction(ok, my shopping addiction too). Doesn't it feel like we were just posting our pregnancies with the toddlers? I ffel for ladies like you that have difficult labor and csections. I know I was lucky!

Feeling tired but overall ok. I weighed myself yesterday. 13 pounds to lose. I figure at least 2 of that is boob!
Ashley is so tiny, she is in premie clothes. She probably wil be another petite one like Alexis.
Hopefully we will have 2 new mommies joining us next week, Heather and Mary!

Hello. Melanie- glad the surgery went well; also hoping your husband feels better. Looks like the MN weather is cooperating for you to get outside.

KC- moving is so hard; best of luck to you.

DeeDee- how did you like your new DVD's?

Shopaholic- congrats on Ashley. I think the initials "A.E." are so cool. Very author-ish.

This is the last week of my older daughter's school year. Then we head to Seaside, FL after Mem. Day; looking very forward to that. Gus did have thrush, which is no big deal. I am glad I took him to the ped. because he also ha a pretty bad ear infection. We're improving, but lost any gains toward sleeping through the night. My left boob was also thrushy.

I am totally burned out with exercise. The weight stuff especially. I am going to refocus on circuit/pilates/walking/running workouts rather than tacking on weight sessions at the end of cardio. I'll never have "cut" arms, so I may as well take a break.

My weeK:
Monday: nothing
Tuesday: run 3.5 miles
Weds: CIA 2505, bootcamp/kickbox circuit; added Cardio Toolbox Intervals to the end
Thurs: 1 hour at the gym, some leg presses
Fri: nothing; had school picnic in the afternoon for older daughter/childcare fundraiser for younger kids.
Sat: run 4 miles
Sun: maybe a walk/maybe a few minutes of "On the Ball Pilates"

Have a great week! Kristan

Hi ladies,

last week i ran 3.5 miles. 3x's. i also did Musclemax twice.
I tried plyoX from the p90x series and whooowee what a leg burner:D . it felt good.

Kristan- I have previewed my new CIA videos but have yet to do them. They both look good! Why do you think you will never have cut arms? Glad to hear all is well with Gus.

I also joined a gym this week. I absolutely love cathe and working out at home. However i don't think my legs will get where i want them without really being able to lift heavy. Also i can take jaden since they have a daycare and now i don't have to wait until he decides to take a nap to workout, whoohooo!!

melanie- i am so sorry to hear about your dh. I pray they find out what's making him ill and fix it quickly.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Hello Ladies! From the looks of things you all have been really busy.

DD is recovering from her surgery. Thanks for all of your well wishes and prayers. The tubes have made a difference. However, she is now teething so her fussiness has changed from one pain to another, but I will gladly take the latter.

Last week was okay workout wise. My eating was off so no weight loss to report. Actually it may be a couple of weeks before I am able to report anymore weight loss because we are leaving to go on vacation soon and I’m sure I will have a hard time trying to eat well the whole time. Hopefully I will be able to get in a few runs while I am gone. My heel is doing much better so I will be taking it easy for a couple more weeks until I officially start my half-marathon training schedule.

Here are my workouts:
Monday – strength training on my own
Tuesday – Ran 3 miles
Wednesday – DD surgery, no workout
Thursday – Ran 3.5 miles
Friday & Saturday - Rest
Sunday – Ran 5 miles with kids in the baby jogger

Melanie – I’m glad your DS surgery went well. I was thinking of you on Wednesday and wondering how DS was doing. I’m sorry to hear DH is sick again. I hope they find out what is wrong with him soon. Good luck with selling your strollers. I’m sure someone will buy them soon. With so much going on in your life how do you even fit in your workouts? You are amazing.

Elyse – Congratulations on your new addition! I love her name!! That is great that you only have 13 pounds to lose and only gained 21.5 your whole pregnancy. You will lose that in no time with being as active as you are. You will probably lose it in a couple weeks from breastfeeding. I remember you from the Moms check-in at VF. I used to post there for a short time, I think when you were pregnant with Alexis, but with so many posts it was hard to keep up so I bailed. Glad to see you posting with us on this check-in.

Kristan – Your workouts look great. I hope Gus is feeling better.

SunnyD – You are running a lot girl! Are you planning to run any races? Great workouts! I hope you enjoy the gym. I’ve thought of paying for a visitors pass maybe twice a month so I can work my legs heavy, but haven’t committed to it yet. Maybe after my vacations are over.

Hi to all Mommies!

Take care!

I've know I haven't been on here for a couple weeks but really there hasn't been a lot to report. DH has been extremely busy which makes getting workouts hard for me. Anway...

Well another week of not much here. I did get in two cardio workouts with the elliptical. DH finished his rotation in labor and delivery this past saturday so now he's on a more normal schedule, which means I should be able to get some more workouts in.

Here's a bit of a rant, feel free to skip this part

Sooo I've been having pelvic pain issues since my delivery of DD. I've been getting pt for the various issues. My pt advised me to quit all abdominal work a while ago. I've had some pain in my running too, so now I am coming to realize that I think I'll have to give that up. I've had some pain once when I've did the elliptical. Also pain with inner thigh weighted exercises. Sigh... I"m nervous that she's gonna have me stop my workouts, but so far she hasn't said anything so I'm plugging on. I"m just a little frustrated, you know how your body isn't your own pg, well I'm 7 months postpartum and I'm still not back to normal, sigh. To make things worse my motivation because of all of this is lacking as well. Anyway rant over.

Melanie~ I'm glad Justin is doing well and I sure hope your DH gets over his illness issues - how frustrating for all of you, hugs it sounds like your dealing with everything great!

Shopaholic ~ 13 lbs more, that's GREAT! You've really accomplished a lot already, keep it up!

Kristan ~ glad the thrush is clear, I totally hear you on the burnt out on exercising bit. I gave up on my arms a few months ago as I don't have time for them, an forcing it isn't working, I guess I'll just have average arms until I find more time (when will that be??? When then kiddos graduate I guess. Might as well have something to look forward to in my forties ;) )

Sunnydelite ~ way to go on the running! I hear you on the gym weight machines, I do think they help a little deeper in the muscles

Kristi ~ I'm glad your daughter is recovering well and doing better, hopefully now you all will get a break, and have just a normal life!

Julie, vent here all you want!
I am happy with my weight gain(well not happy but confident I can lose it). I figure at least 3 pounds is boob!
