Hi everyone!
Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!!

We had a nice weekend, and yesterday just relaxed in our backyard and enjoyed the 85 degree weather and the kids new backyard pool (a big inflatable whale pool from Target, very cute).

How are your babies? How are your workouts and weight loss goals going?

Ryan is doing so well, sleeping great and he has grown sooooo much. He's very long now. He is also super sweet little guy who is loving being outside in the Baby Bjorn and in the jogger. It's been great to get everyone out for our walks again.

The scale continues to go down and I'm now so close to my goal weight, only about 7lbs. to lose! I'm very excited and have really noticed a difference in my tummy, it finally is looking flatter. Thank goodness for that;) I was actually able to fit into a pair of size 8 shorts, although they are a bit snug still, so I'll try them again in a few weeks. I was able to get 5 workouts in last week, and I'm going to start Cathe's beginner rotation today (although I'm going to start on the last half of it as the basic step workout is pretty easy for me now). I will probably make some slight adjustments though, like substituting my elliptical trainer for some of the cardio, and pilates in place of some of the ab work. I just love pilates and definitely want to get use out of my elliptical too.

Okay, here's what I did last week:
Monday – Elliptical Intervals
Tuesday – Outdoor Walk & Total Body Sculpting (Upper & Lower)
Wednesday – Low Impact Step
Thursday – 10 Min Solution Pilates
Friday – Rest Day
Saturday – Outdoor Walk
Sunday – Rest Day

Have a great week everyone:) :)

Hey Mommies!

How is everyone? Things here are good but I think I need to go to bed earlier. He is sleeping better but gets up earlier now so I think I am losing sleep:-( I was so tired today when he woke but planned to have a nap this afternoon but my FIL is here working on the patio and just as I was falling to sleep, he started hammeringx( So...we are up again!

Mothers day was nice, I didn't do much but I got a coat and pants from DH, a running coat from my MIL and DD ordered some flowers for me all by herself, which she intended to pay for all by herself. But she put Rylans name on the card as well so I told her that he would pay for half of them.

Ive gotten some good workouts in this past week and alot of walking! I am offically at my prepreg weight but Im sure I gained some of it back yesterday cause we had a pretty big meal:9 Again, everyone keeps telling me I am smaller then I was before but I don't see it....prehaps my boobs weigh more? LOL

Sun: 8 mile run and abs
Mon: 90 mins walk/ PS back and bics
Tues: 6 mile run and abs
Wed: PS ches/Shou/Tris/ 3seg of the Gaulant/ 2 walks!
Thurs: 70 mins walk in a.m/ another walk in p.m
Fri: GS legs 5 mile run/ 50 mins walk
Sat: BM2

Thats it for moi! Hope everyone as a good week!
Lori:)

Hi Lori!
Sorry that your sleep has been interrupted! That's no good:(

Just wanted to say your workouts are amazing! You must be in such great shape, I've got a ways to go before I'm at your level but your workouts really inspire me.

Okay, have a great week and hope you get some rest:)

Hi mommies,

Happy belated Mother's Day!!! :) I had a good mother's day. My DH got me a card and Heidi signed on it ;) and some flowers, which come from Germany, so that was nice and we had a big meal yesterday as well :9 .

Here are my workouts from last week:

Mon - Kenpo X
Tue - Yoga with Steve Ross
Wed - Core Synergistics
Thu - Kenpo X
Fri - X Stretch
Sat - Yoga X
Sun - off

I am on week 4 of the P90X Lean Rotation, so this was my recovery week. Still not much on the weight loss, seems like my body does not want to let go of all the fat :-( x( ;( . So I thought I will add some more cardio to my workouts and add a treadmill walk 2-3 times a week. We'll see if that does anything ;) .

Had Heidi's 4 month Dr.'s appointment on Friday. She now weighs 13 lbs. 4.5 oz and is 25 1/4 in long. He also gave us the ok to start her on solids, so she had her first cereal on Friday and she didn't do to bad. It is getting better each day and less and less ends up on her bib, hehe. I think she really likes it. A couple more days and I will try her on some other baby foods.
I talked with him about the nursing issues I am having and he is thinking that it might be acid reflux. So he gave me some medicine for her to try, but said wait and see if the solids are going to make a difference first and it sure seems like it does. She pulls away alot less and stays on for a long time, so I am really happy!!!!! :D

Lori - I am having a hard time too to go to bed earlier, but I have to. I started 2 weeks ago to make sure that Heidi is in bed by 8:30 and that makes her wake up between 6 - 7, so I am trying to be in bed by 10, but there is always so much to do in the evenings x( .
Congrats on the all the weight loss, that is a wonderful accomplishment!!! I eventually will get there one day ;-) .

Stacey - I have a pilates DVD somethere and I am thinking about getting it out. It is such a great way to work your abs and mine need it too.

Ok, ladies, gotta get in the shower, but I will be back later.

Kristine :)

Hi ladies- I am about 3 and a half weeks pp- can I join your thread? I had my son Jack on April 20th. I am so inspired by all the workouts you are doing- how soon did you start the "serious" workouts? I've been walking every day but I had a c-section so I was waiting for my dr's OK before I start any Cathe wo's.

I'm glad to hear all your babies are sleeping so well- I'm just waiting for my little one to start sleeping more- since he's my third I know it's coming but I forgot how tiring it can be.

Stay well-
Jean

Hi Jean,

Congratulations on your little one!!!! You must be really excited. Enjoy while he is still tiny, they grow so fast!!!

Sure, you are more than welcome to join our check in.

I started working out seriously again about 4 weeks pp but I didn't have a c-section. Just as you said, I would definitely wait until you get the Dr.'s ok and continue with your walks for now.

Hope you get some more sleep soon ;-)

Stacy, thanks for your kind words! I was heavy into working out before Rylan so it wasn't hard to get back into the swing of things....but never did I think I would have the time to do some of the things I do. And I wasn't sure what kind of baby I was going to get either! LOL He can be high maintance sometimes but the mornings are the best times to workout and the other long workouts I fit in, its usually b/c DH is home.

Kristine, I think when the weight loss does happen it will just fall fall off. I was following WW's since he as been 4 weeks old! And its only this past week I have been hungry. They give you more points b/c we are bf'ing. If your discouraged about your weight loss you could give it a try. I went online and signed up b/c I knew I wouldn't have the time to go to meetings. It took me 14 weeks to lose 20 lbs but some of those weeks I wasn't has devoted as I should have been. And maybe your body will start losing when you stop bf'ing, Im hoping to drop another 5 lbs when this happens!
I meant to tell you that I read on line that eating oatmeal helps increase breastmilk and I think its working! I was a little concerned about my milk supply this week b/c since he as been sleeping longer stretches, I guess he hasn't been stimulating it as much. Anyway, I started eating oatmeal and I think its doing the trick.

Jean, welcome and congrats on your new one! I started working out again when I was 5 weeks PP ( i think) and it took me a couple of weeks or more before I could jump higher and do more.It takes the body a little while to adjust.

Rylan slept pretty good last night and I finally went to bed a little earlier. I went to bed at 11 and he was up at 12:30 and 5 to eat. I feel rested today!

Hi Jean!
Just wanted to say hello and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your little one!!! Very cool that you just had your 3rd also. How are you adjusting to having 3? I love having 3 and have found it to be quite manageable, especially now that Ryan is sleeping more regularly.

I started slowly getting back into working out about 5 weeks post partum, just doing very low impact floor aerobics (I did Leisa Hart's Fitmama and my elliptical quite a bit). Then at 6 weeks post partum and with my doctor's okay, I resumed strength training and core work. I found a wonderful dvd for rehabilitating your core after pregnancy called Postnatal Core Conditioning. I think Amazon carries it, if not, they have a website called befitmom.com. I really like the dvd because it offers gentle first moves and slowly helps you to regain core strength. It's great for C-section recovery and for those of us who have abdominal separation (I have a slight one, that has improved).

Anyway, with rest (which does come after things settle down) and good diet, you'll regain strength and energy and be able to be more active. Just take your time, enjoy time with your new arrival and things will get much easier for you and you'll have more time to exercise.

Again, welcome! :)
