Good Morning Mamma's!:) :)

How is everyone? Things here are good. His sleeping pattern as been a little off the last couple of days but he is up bright and early today, which means everything should fall into place today:)
Rylan also had his needles last week and they weren't pleasant! But thats it until Jan 9th, then its 3 needles. They will probably be worse b/c they will know whats going on at that point! He weighed almost 17 lbs and is 27 inches long to! He is pretty much sitting up on his own with a little help and i wouldn't leave him just yet;) I can hear his head hitting th floor already! LOL

Jenn, good job on getting a couple of workouts in! I know its not easy but it will get easier...um...for a little while anyway! LOL I haven't figured out what I am going to do when he starts taking shorter naps! hahaha

Kristine, sounds like you had a busy week! And is your DH like every other DH when he gets sick? You had 2 babies instead of one??? Men are the worst! LOL

Stacy, our boys are pretty much the same size. He cried more during these needles then he did his 4 month needles, but thats it. He didn't have any side effects at all! No sore legs...nothing! I was surprised! They are so sweet though and we are seriously considering having another one. If we do, I am going to aim to get pregnant next yr this time. Although, it was nice having him in the winter monthes, b/c I could stay home and get back in shape! Who wants to go out in the cold with a little one?

Here are my workouts from last week:

Sum: OFF
Mon: CTX/PUB C&B/ 45 mins run
Tues: BM2 seg 1&2/ GS Legs floor work/ abs
Wed: CTX/PUB S,B&T/ 60 mins run
THurs: B&G 50 min run
Fri: 4 Mile run and abs
Sat: PH and 4 mile run

My weightloss is pretty much holding steady now, give or take, here and there. My waist measurements are almost back!:) Im wondering what will happen when I stop bf'ing. Will I gain or lose more? Most people lose...but time will tell!

Have a good week everyone!
Lori:)

Hi all!
Hope you are all doing well and those babies too:)
Ryan is doing great, got over his shots after about a day and has had a busy week with out of town family visiting. It's amazing how a baby's schedule gets thrown off when you have visitors and lots of activities. We had a nice relaxing weekend since guests are gone and it's been nice. I think Ryan will be back on track in no time.

Lori, that is so wonderful that you're thinking about another one, they are amazing for sure. I feel so happy and fulfilled with my 3 little ones. I'm amazed at how our family has adjusted to having Ryan and everything just falls into place (even my workouts!). We've decided to stop at 3 and feel like that will be a perfect number for us.

Well, workouts were decent last week, I recorded Low Max off of fit tv and tried it. I like it a lot and was surprised I was able to catch on to the steps no problem. I think I've come along way with Cathe, and am encouraged now that I can attempt more of her dvd's (especially the new ones coming out). So, here's what I did:

Monday – Elliptical Intervals (Cardio-30min)
Tuesday – Body Fusion (Circuit Training-50min)
Wednesday – Rest Day
Thursday – Low Max (Cardio-45min)
Friday – Rest Day
Saturday – Elliptical Intervals & Total Body Sculpt (50min)
Sunday – Elliptical Intervals (Cardio-30min)

Now within 5lbs. of my goal weight, trying to clean up my eating and drop those pounds soon!

Have a great week everyone;)

Hi mommies,

Sorry, I am checking in so late :-( . Have been busy today, cleaning the house and washing clothes and of course doing my workout, so that I am just getting now to check in with you. Looks like everybody is doing very well, that is great.

We are doing good as well. DH finally went back to work on Friday and is feeling a lot better. Just trying to get Heidi back in her routine and I think we are almost there. ;-)

Here are my workouts from last week, pretty lame, but I had another kid at home ;) and not much sleep ;( . Glad it was my recovery week, so I didn't miss too much, hehe.

Mon - off
Tue - Inhale (Yoga with Steve Ross)
Wed - Pilates for Abs (30 min)
Thu - off
Fri - off
Sat - off
Sun - Cardio Kicks

Had Heidi's Dr.'s appointment on Friday and she weighed in at 14 lbs. and is 27 1/4 inches long  . She dropped from the 50 percentile for her weight to 25 percentile. Her Dr. said that that's normal for a breastfed baby and he is expecting that she will drop a little more. He said to come back in 1 1/2 months to weigh her and if she is around 15 lbs by then she is good to go. She is just so interested in other things while she nurses and I don't think that she'll ever get full even after 45 min of nursing. So I think I will start to supplement with formula and slowly get her switched over. she had 7 oz. today and she seems to like it, but not as much as breastmilk, that's for sure.
Saturday she put her to bed at 8.30 pm. She woke up at 11.30 pm and I couldn't calm her down, so I nursed her. When she woke up at 4.30 am to nurse again and again at 5.30 am, so I was beat the next day. So I really think the formula will do her good.
She did ok with the shots and was a little off the next day, so I gave her some tylenol and she was doing a lot better that afternoon.
Other than that she is healthy as she can be and such a happy baby!!!

Lori - Yes, 2 babies, you are right, just like all man ;-) . We are going to have another baby as well and will start trying sometime next year. Maybe around this time as well, because we have too many birthdays in the winter time already ;) .

Stacey - Great job, only 5 pounds to go. I still have a little to go, but I think my routine is working well and I should be back in my 8s in no time. Question for you on feeding formula. Do you mix the formula with regular tap water and do you warm the bottle up? What is your feeding schedule?

Jean - Hope you got in some more workouts.

Ok, ladies, gotta start cooking dinner, but I will be back later. Hope you are all doing well.

Kristine :)

Stacy, I think my SIL thought I was a nut case when she was home b/c I would leave her parents house to put Rylan to bed on time every night! I enjoy my sleep to much and I wasn't about to throw his schedule off, just to be social! LOL

Kristine, a friend of mine switched her baby to formula b/c she wasn't gaining enough weight. She finally gave up bf'ing altogether. Her doc figured that her milk wasn't high enough in cals.
We are seriously thinking about having another but we will seewhats happens when he is more mobile! lol

Sounds like everyone is doing o.k...Rylan was up way to early and as now fell back to sleep and Im going to bed to!

Hi Kristine!
Glad to hear your dh is feeling better, that is no fun when someone in the house is sick!

As far as formula goes, yes, I do mix my formula with tap water. What I do is mix up enough formula for several bottles at a time so I have enough to last me during the day. I mix my formula in a large measuring glass and use a whisk to stir it thoroughly. Initially, I did warm up bottles that came out of the refrigerator for a few seconds in the microwave (about 10 sec. for a full bottle), my friend just places her bottles in a bowl full of hot water to take the chill off. I actually no longer bother with heating the bottles and Ryan takes his formula cold just fine (I also have a theory that the cold bottle eases some of his teething pain). Also, it makes the transition to regular milk at one year easier as you don't have to worry about heating the milk they drink. Hope that makes sense. There are many good formulas, we have been thrilled with Nestle Good Start Supreme. It is very smooth, and easy to mix, and most importantly, Ryan takes it very well. Ryan is eating his solids 3 times a day and then has bottles also. I'd say at each bottle feeding he eats anywhere from 6-8 ounces (that varies though) and is feeding approximately every 3 hours. He eats more frequently during the day, tends to take in a large quantity at night before he falls asleep, and sleeps through the night (he's been sleeping through now for 2 months). When he wakes up, he has a bottle first thing, then gets changed, has playtime, then solids for breakfast. He's then up for several hours, has another bottle and takes his morning nap. This pattern basically repeats through lunch and his afternoon nap. Okay, maybe more info. than you needed, but there you go! :)

Awesome that you'd like to have another in a year or so, they are such a blessing;)

Lori,
I am totally with you on the schedule thing!!! My kids have all been on good schedules since birth and it has made a world of difference in our household. I also will leave to take Ryan home to get to bed on time;)

Yes, I am definitely on the schedule thing with you as well. If we go some place and we should stay longer when Heidi's nap time (e. g. 4th of July) I bring her playpen and do her normal bedtime routine at the same time as always. Even though I have to tranfer her to her car seat when we leave and when into her bed, it doesn't seem to mess up her routine and it is really just on special occasions.

Stacey - Thank you so much for all the info. No, it wasn't too much at all, it really helps. Right now I decided to give her formula at her last feeding. She always used to get a bottle of pumped breastmilk at her last feeding and I would pump in the morning for that. I now just nurse her on both sides in the morning, which seems to get her a lot more satisfied and when give her the bottle in the evening with formula. We'll see how that goes. I also started to nurse her in the dark so she'll nurse better and doesn't get distracted so easily. ;-) I really enjoy nursing her and hopefully this will make a difference. Thanks again!

Ok, ready to get in the shower after my crueling workout }( :p :) .

Kristine :)
