Hi everyone! Hope everyone is doing great! Little Jadon is doing wonderful. He's nursing well, sleeps fairly well at night. There's only been a couple of nights that I had to get up for more than 30 minutes to settle him down from crying. Those are really long nights. I thank God that I have maternity leave...b/c it'd sure be tough to work on less than 6 hrs/sleep at night. Jadon does have fussy time for 1-2 hrs/night. I can do without those. He will NOT take a binky. :(

I pumped for first time yesterday. To my amazement I captured 5 oz in 10 minutes. Again, I am truely blessed in this area. I would not want to have the struggles that many moms have in this area.

I would have to say that cardiovascularly I am where I was prior to being pregnant (would someone tell my body that it's time for it to get back to prepregnant? ;) ) I did not lose any weight this week, if I did, it was only 1/2 lb. I DID lose an inch total, and my body is much tigher than it was (less flabby). :D :D I'm on my way!!

*Imax Extreme was my favorite workout. Yahoo!! Lots of fun!!

Sunny~ I"m having so much fun keeping up with you on rotation site. Keep up good work

Kristan~ I cannot do terminators (never could do more than 8). Did you get your new DVDs? I hope you like them. Imax3 is a killer! I plan on doin that this coming week. I hope you're getting some quality time with Gus.

Allsion~ I too am feeling muscle fatique from my workouts. You know what, it makes me feel alive! Love it!! Nothing a little ibuprofen can't heal, right? I haven't done muscle endurance in a really long time. I'm sure I'll get it out when my high step topper comes. :) So do you do most of your workouts at night? Does that work well for you? How many hrs before your bedtime?

Gracenote~ Which videos are you looking at getting rid of? If you e-mail me, maybe I'd be interested: [email protected] I imagine you are fitting into your prepregnancy clothes already...being 6 lbs within your goal and all. Way to go!

Julie~ It's nice to see you again! Hips & belly are my trouble zones too right now. My hips seem wider at this point. My belly has always been a tough area, and I did NO ab work while pg this time. It amazes me that you're such a strong girl. You and I would totally complement on another. You with strength & me with cardio. Complete opposites. Wouldn't life be boring if we were all alike? How's Miriam doing?

Have you tried fenugreek? Just curious as to what works/doesn't work for your bfing struggles. You're such a great mom!!

Thursday - 15 min lateral thigh trainer (supposed to be my off day)
Friday- pyramid lower body -40 min treadmill
Saturday - pyramid upper body - 25 min treadmill

I lost one pound this week~

Jaden is doing great. I really wish he would sleep completely during the night, although i must say he does pretty well.

How is everyone else doing?

I had a fairly good week. I am not sure how much weight I am losing, but my clothes are fitting better. I have a dr's appt this week so I'll know more. My goal is to get back into some of the clothes I wore before I was first pregnant. I don't think I can ever be a size 4 again, but I'll take a loose 8.

Speaking of maternity leave, I think I am going to head back January 19. I could techincally be off for about another month, but I only want to work 2 days a week. Going back a bit early will let me work 2 days only through April. This way, I save on day care costs. My 'fulltime' schedule is only 3 days a week, but I really don't want to pay for that extra day of childcare per week. I really don't feel like working, but I have the following to enjoy upon my return: the YMCA next to my office just opened from a full renovation and a Starbucks in my building.

Gus' baptism in next Sunday, so I think I'll be a bit frenzied this week trying to get the house clean, food made, etc. for the party after the service.

Monday: IMAX 5-10, 20 minutes of bootcamp and kickbox from "10 minute solution"
Tuesday: 40 minutes of bootcamp, pieced together from a lot of DVD's. I was SORE.
Wednesday: StepFit. I was a tired mess.
Thursday: took it easy, but walked 1.5 miles with Gus in carrrier to bank and post office.
Friday: Step Blast w/u, 1, 2; Timesaver #5
Saturday: ran 3.5 miles- somewhat fast (?!?) for me. I'd like to be able to increase my mileage to a solid 5 or 6 miles. I used to be able to run around the perimeter of our large urban park (Forest Park), but haven't done it in YEARS.
Sunday: will just walk to park, and maybe do some Pilates abs

Have a good week! Thank you so much for checking in with me. It really helps keep me in line.

Kristan

Melanie – The pounds don’t tell the story – my clothes don’t look like they used to, that’s for sure! I have enough outfits to get through the week, but there’s plenty that I can’t/won’t wear until Cathe can get rid of all the extra lumps and bumps, if you know what I mean. I’m totally jealous of your pumping skill (where’s the workout rotation to get THAT kind of result!!) I‘m just trying to break even – if I pump extra on the days I don’t work, in addition to what I get AT work, I’m just covering what I need for work days. Haven’t started the fenugreek/tea, yet, but was hoping not to need that before the first big growth spurt. I’ll be emailing you ‘bout the videos.

Sunny – Your weight loss is so consistent – you must have lots of discipline, especially if you’re not getting good sleep. How do you manage to stay on target with all those workouts (and even add on to your off day!)?

Kristan – Gillian’s christening is next week, too. I hear ya on the ‘busy getting ready’ thing! I have to find her outfit, too – it’s probably buried in one of the clothing boxes, but will take some time to dig out. You have YMCA AND Starbucks?! I would be back at work every day for that, alone!!

Sunday – Circuit Max
Monday – Low Max
Tuesday – Imax 3
Wednesday – nothing
Thursday – nothing
Friday – nothing
Saturday - nothing

You can see the week started out much better than it ended. We had guests from Thursday a.m. until late yesterday, so I was busy with entertaining, cooking, and keeping the kids from being too crazy. I really hope to get a schedule going this week. Either way, it’s soooooo good to be able to work out again! I will be happy for that, if nothing else!

Hi Everyone,

Melanie - you are amazing...actually all of you are. I have to remember to check in as much as possible...especially when I'm about to start noshing!

I somehow lost a pound this week. Pretty happy about that. Today I did a 30 minute run for the first time since Kian was born. It felt so good. I went out a little too fast at first (so excited, I guess), but evened it out and did surprisingly well.

Tomorrow is IMAX3. I'd love to get it in during the day, but my best bet to workout is usually at night when I won't be interrupted. Right now is my busy time however, (I judge high school gymnastics and the season just started) so if my kids let me get the wo in during the day - well, I'll take it. My six year old is wonderful at watching the baby, but an hour is a long time for her.

I'll check in with you guys tomorrow. I'm sure my thighs are going to have that "good soreness" tomorrow. See you later!

Allison :)

Hey Allsion. Thanks for the complement, I've never been so physically determined in my life! Once upon a time I was a gymnast. That was a long time ago. Congrats on wt loss. If your interested, Sunny & I have been doing a daily check in under ROTATION forum. It's listed under Mel's Complete Wt Loss--Update. YOu're invited to check-in. Right now a daily check-in works well for me. Tomorrow I"m doing Imax 3 too!

Gracenote- thanks! I am not as disciplined as i should be, but i am doing pretty well.

Allison & Melanie- looks like today we are all doing Imax! I am doing Imax 2. Oops I just checked the dates of your responses and I believe you already did Imax.

Has anyone seen the latest women's fitnessRX? Nicole Murphy (ex-wife to eddie murphy) is on the cover. The woman has 5 children and looks absolutely amazing. If she can do it, so can we!!!

What a week, and it's only Wednseday!! The baby got sick Sunday night (screaming, fever, horrible congestion, gagging, etc.) Called Dr. in the morning - they made me feel like krapp because I didn't call in the middle of the night. Apparantly a fever over 100.4 in a baby less than 8 weeks old is a major trigger for my pediatric practice. They told me to bring her in immediately for an office visit, and that we MAY have to go to the hospital for a spinal tap, catheterization for a urinalysis, blood work, etc. I was panicked! Three hours later, they told me it was just a virus and to keep an eye on her. (I thought they should have offered Valium at that point...)

Monday night, Gillian AND our 2yo were sick, so I was up all night again. Last night, Gillian seemed better, but was off her feeding schedule, so was up every hour to eat. Our 2yo was feverish and having nightmares, so it was another 'short' night. I've been home with sick kids for 3 days and nights, and DH is going out of town tomorrow morning until mid-weekend. He told me he is looking forward to getting some sleep!! I told him it was okay to THINK things like that, but to actually say them out loud was grounds for divorce or homicide... :p

Two things I was hoping to verify: Is the 100.4 fever thing a new ruling? I don't remember that as a warning flag. Did you all know you're not supposed to give Tylenol until after the baby is 8 weeks old? This isn't my first baby, but I feel like they've changed a bunch of rules without telling me! What ELSE don't I know about?! :)
