Happy New Years!! 5 1/2 weeks ppd. This past week has been so fun. I've jumped into doing Cathe's workouts...first time in a couple of months. I can't tell you how much I've missed a real good sweat. I'm addicted!!!
During my last week I've lost about 2 lbs, lost an inch or so off arms & thighs; however, I've gained an inch on my hips. This next week will focus more on cardio to lose weight. Those of you who want to join me on my rotation...feel free. I've never done my own rotation before...so we'll see how it goes. Levi's....here I come!!!

Sun: SJP
Mon: KPC
Tue: Leg & Glutes _+ CTX All step cardio only
Wed: PUB + CT step intervals cardio only
Thurs: Step Blast
Fri: Low Max
SAt: Mindy's CArdio toolbox

As a treat, I've finally purchased a high step topper.

Jadon's umbilical cord is still hanging on & now getting extremely smelly and gross. Yew. Hopefully it comes off today.

Gotta go!

Happy new years!! Girl, you are no joke, you will soon be in those levis. I still have a long way to go but am determined to get there...:p I lost another pound and a half last week so i am sooooo happy.
Let me ask which is probably a stupid question, when we post our workouts are we posting what we did last week or what we plan on doing this week?

We've always posted what we've already done. That way we can truely hold on another accountable for what we've done and not what we intended on doing (which isn't always the same). Hee hee. Of course, we're all in this to encourage one another, right?
Good job on losing 1 1/2 lbs...so that's 3.5 lbs in two weeks? AWESOME!!!! Are you doing any measurements...or letting your clothes do that?

Wow Melanie- that's quite a week! You'll be buying smaller jeans than usual at the rate you are going.

About this cardio toolbox- should I get it? It looks to be about $25 at Collage. I think I would like it to "mix and match" on short days? Let me know your thoughts.

Sunnydelite- I post what I have done in the past week.

Monday: 3.5 mile run
Tuesday: walk, body max upper body
Wednesday: StepJam
Thursday: Boot Camp cardio, lower body, some abs
Friday: nothing
Saturday: walk, IMAX 1 w/u, and intervals 1-4
Sunday: go to gym

Just when I thought I was cardiovascularly fit, I did IMAX and BootCamp and realized I cannot: do interval 3 in IMAX (the plyo jacks where she says, "ok we're half way there-- and I just stop) and BootCamp (I look very silly and sloppy doing those terminators).

Gus is great. He's 2 months old- wow time is flying! FOr those of you with your first babies, just sit down and hold them and look at them as long as you wish. Gus is my third, and he spends most of his time being carried around in a car seat. How I long for that quality time with the first where you have all your time to focus on just her/him.

Thanks Kristan. Speaking of sequential kids...I totally know what you're talking about. The minute Justin lays down for his nap, I work diligently to get Jadon down so I can workout. If I'm lucky, I can get through a 60 minute workout in about 75 min. That's my downtime. At the end of the night when the other kids are asleep, I just hold Jadon and 'soak' him in. I remember with Justin we didn't lay him down a minute. This time we don't have a choice b/c we're focusing on other kids too. Jory is home during Christmas break so all 3 are here and need our attention. Do we have any mom's on forum with just one kid?
I will be doing imax 1 this week. I'll tell you how it goes. ;) Oh, and I LOVE cardio toolbox. I think you'll like it too. Maybe you can get a deal on eBay?

ok, i thought that was the answer, just wanted to make sure.
Monday- nothing
tues- actually went to a gym because my sister was down for the holidays, she's a personal trainer. we did upper body (reminded me why i workout at home)
wed-elliptical (45 min)
thurs-nothing
frid-timesaver step & hi/low, back & core
sat-timesaver kpc w/shoulders, legs
sun-kickmax (whew what a killer)

i know what you mean with having more than one. it was so different the first time around. i find it hard to spend as much time with first ds (elijah) because jaden is a very demanding baby.

what is cardio toolbox?

Thank you for the information Melanie. I think I will buy it at Collage- I always get outbid on Ebay. I guess it's a good sign I'm sick of my exercise video collection, especially the old Cathe's. I did them so frequently when they first came out that they o nly interest me a few times a year. Sounds like a good excuse to get IMAX 3. I also went onto Netflix and ordered some Keli Roberts step and bootcamp stuff as well as some new PIlates, yoga and those "10 minute solution" things. My husband is never too happy to look at our queue and see a bunch of exercise videos! Kristan

Kristan, I hope you like Cardio Toolbox. I also preordered Mindy's bootcamp & ab workouts. They won't be out until March. I also tire of Cathe's workouts after a while. I do them over and over and over. I have almost ALL of her workouts. I'm anxious to get her newest ones, but I'm thinking they won't be out until March as well. Oh well, at least we know they'll be good.

Hi,

I'm going to try and check-in and will hopefully stick with it. Melanie, I'm impressed! My doctor wouldn't let me exercise until sizx weeks post-partum. That's great.

Anyway, my week so far has been trying out the Hardcore Celebration Fat Loss rotation. I got through both IMAX3 and Muscle Max this weekend and am feeling it. Tonight, I'll do Kick Max. Although, since it's a snow day here, it's very difficult (for me, at least) to stay out of the refrigerator.

Have a good day everyone. I'm way past my delivery date, but life has been so crazy, I feel like I'm starting now.

Welcome Alison! I haven't heard of the Hardcore Celebration Fat Loss rotation. Could you post the hurl to it?
I have my 6 week ob/gyn follow-up tomorrow. I didn't ask for her permission to begin working out. I've been listening to my body, just as I did when I was pg. It seems to work for me. ;)

Hi all!

I've been lurking when I can but didn't have much time to post, so finally snagged a few minutes tonight.

6 week pp visit and started back to work today. Officially, I'm about 6 pounds from pre-baby weight, but as we all know, the scale doesn't tell the whole story. Lots of work to do to deal with the normal effects of lugging a belly around for nine months :) Started working out a few weeks ago 'cause I was going nuts. DH got me the Hardcore series for Christmas, so it's been fun trying out new things. I'm not so much into the strength ones, yet, but they will probably come in handy later on. I now have some duplicates, too, so I'll be experimenting with ebay as soon as I figure it out.

The struggles these days:
- finding time to workout between feeding the baby and keeping the others occupied
- staying hydrated (bf'ing is really making it hard)
- staying awake :) Gillian isn't big on sleeping all night yet

Any tips? (other than hiring a nanny - haha - wouldn't that be a great option to have?!)

Hope you all have a great first week of 2006!!

KC

Welcome back KC. SIX lbs for prepregnant weight? That is AWESOME! I'm so happy for you!
I'm kind of beating myself that I didn't pay closer attention to my weight while I was pg b/c my wt is just sticking this time around...

KC- good to have you back. I too have trouble staying hydrated. Not that I'm dehydrated, but I just don't drink enough water, and I also drink about a gallon of coffee a day. I have about 6 pounds to get to my Pre-preg state, but at least another 10 after that to get back to pre-first baby weight. I agree- it sounds better than it looks!

Melanie- I went bought IMAX 3 and Cardio toolbox. Hopefully that will keep me interested until it warms up. I don't mind running/walking in the cold, but it's hard to motivate myself to bundle the kids up to take them.

Allison- glad you are joining us. I have kids all about a year younger than yours: a 5 year old girl, a 3 year old girl, and a 2 month old boy.

Gus had his 2 month appointment yesterday. He's 13 pounds, 8 oz and 25 inches long. I was worried my milk supply would crap out because I am so preoccupied with the older girls (and drinking that pot of coffee a day), but I think we're okay. He's all over the place sleeping. Every 3 hours one night, but can sleep 7 or 8 hours on other nights.

Thanks for posting. It really helps keep me accountable.

Kristan

It was an ok here, but with DH off I ended up doing more family stuff in lew of working out more.

Monday: Pyramid Lower Body 1 hour

Tuesday: nada

Wednesday: family hike for 1 mile (not bad for a 3 1/2 yr old! - DH actually took him on another hike last week for 1 1/2 miles! )

Thursday: Pyramid Upper Body - up only, 40 front lunges, 40 static lunges, 40 cross over lunges 45 min

Friday: nada

Saturday: Pyramid Lower Body at gym up only, then did floor work as well, and abs 1 hour 15 min

Sunday: nada :)

not to bad though wish I had gotten more in. I am going to **try** to get in 2 days of short cardio along with my pyramid workouts now that lower body is now lifting up to 40 lbs ( I"m SSOOOOO shocked I went from nada weights to 40lbs in 6 weeks! - here's a plug for keeping up some kind of exercise pg, IT MAKES SUCH A DIFFERENCE!!!), and upper body is only one set of weights bellow past ability in some exercises, and the same for others! :) I'm not back into my old pants, but my belly though not to ladden with extra fat is about 2 inches bigger than prepregnancy and keeping me out of my pants even though my hips are only 1/4 inch bigger (not talking about what that extra layer of fat looks like though! ;) ) So I feel good, and can feel and see my muscles peaking a little!

Here's to a great new year!!!

Hi Everyone,

Again, thanks for the welcome! I did Kick Max last night and Low Max today. I realized half way through Low Max that Cathe and crew were on 2 risers while I was on one. I still got a good workout in, but I'll try bringing it up a notch next time on this one. I'm feeling pretty well now that I'm working out again. I hope everyone has a good day.

Kristan - that all over the place sleeping has got to be a third child thing. Mine really doesn't have a set napping schedule because his life revolves around his sisters' activities. Last night he gave me a solid 11 hours - I was so psyched.

Hi everyone.

Haven't started exercising yet. Everyday I mean to but I am just so darn exhausted. Maddie cannot stand to be put down and sometimes fusses all night long. I have heard that fussiness peaks at 6 weeks--I sure hope so because she is fast approaching the 6 week mark and I need a little relief. I see my dr for the 6 week check up on Monday and I suspect that physically I am all set to get back into the swing of things but it's just so hard to imagine doing that right now being so tired. I also worry that exercise might interfere with my milk production if I add exercise into the equation. It seems to be ok for now but I worry that one more thing might be too much.

I'm so impressed with all of you who have so quickly gotten back into the swing of things. I think once her nights get a little more regular and she can nap somewhere besides our arms, I wil be back on track! I may try to walk on the TM with her in the baby bjorn. That might be mild enough for me to handle. I am about 8 pounds above my pre-pg weight, but I'd really like to lose 12 since I was a little heavier that I'd have liked when I got pg.

Hello Monica. I feel for you! I've had a lot of friends with fussy babies like you describe. They swear by the book "How to Have the Happiest Baby on the Block". According to them, it has good soothing and sleeping techniques.

Don't feel guilty about not exercising. It's hard to find time. I decided yesterday that I'm trying to do too much. I am going to slow down and make walking part of the routine. I think you have a good idea with the walking with the Bjorn. I may try that.

Good luck.

Kristan

Hi Monica & Kristan!

Monica, don't be impressed...all of us have different struggles and situations. Baby Jadon seems to be content during the 60-90 minutes I"m working out. He DOES have crying sessions and fits, but they're usually concentrated in the evenings. How is bfing going? I'm going to start pumping and storing real quick! I"m afraid my 12 wks maternity leave will be over before I know it!
