Hi Mommies!
How are you all doing this morning? How are your babies?

Things are good here. Had a nice weekend and got back on track with my workouts. Ryan is doing fantastic. He's sitting up all by himself, and doing some "baby talk", which mostly consists of dadadada or mamamama over and over again. It's very cute. I think his teething pain is pretty bad though, he still hasn't cut his first teeth yet and drools badly and aggressively chews on everything. Going to pick up some baby orajel this morning for him.

It's super hot here, so going to get the kiddie pool out for my older two this afternoon. Here are my workouts from last week:

Monday – Low Impact Step (40min)
Tuesday –Rest Day
Wednesday – Rest Day
Thursday – Elliptical Intervals (40min)
Friday – Body Fusion (Circuit Training-50min)
Saturday – Outdoor Walk (30min)
Sunday – Cardio Camp w/Kim Spreen (Hi/Lo & Kickboxing-50min)

Have a great week everyone:)

Hello Mommies,

Hope you all had a great weekend :)

Stacey - Like Ryan, Olivia is doing alot of baby talk. I could listen to that all day :). Her crib is still in our room so in the mornings she pops her head up to see if we're still in the room and then lays back down and just goes at it - FUNNY!! Btw, great workouts last week! I'm looking for more good kickboxing dvds - I have KickMax (which is ok) and Kick, Punch, Crunch (which I love!). How is Kim Spreen's dvd? How does it compare to Cathe's?

Here are my workouts from last week:

Mon - Allstep & MM Core
Tues - KM & Ab Hits #3
Wed - MM Core
Thurs - MM (AM) & KPC Blast Challenge (PM)
Fri - KPC (AM) & Windsore Pilates (PM)
Sat - Off
Sun - Off

Enjoy your week!
Trish

Hi mommies,

Checking in late as always, but I guess you are used to that by now ;-) !

Things are going really well, and just like you Stacey I got back into my workouts this week. Here is what I did:

Mon - Rhythmic Step
Tue - Muscle Max
Wed - SM Seg #1
Thu - Step Blast
Fri - Power Hour
Sat - Low Max
Sun - off

Wow, that was quite a lot of cardio for me (I am more a weights person) but I know I need it to loose the rest of this weight and I had fun doing it. I think I am gaining more endurance, which really helps.

Heidi is doing great. Yes, she is doing a lot of baby talk as well and it is so cute, isn't it. She only says momma than she's mad or fussy, hehe :) . No dada yet, but a lot of baba ;) . She started scooting today!!!! :7 And she is getting on her knees a lot, so I think it won't be long before she starts crawling, I better babyproof the house ;-) .

Stacey - Great workouts! Are you going to get any of the new workouts? I preordered all of the new ones and I can't wait. I am sure they'll get here while I am in Germany  :) .

Trish - I like KPC better than KM as well. I am looking forward to the new kickbox workout!!

Lori - Where are you?

Ok, ladies, gotta finish my chores and when I am heading to bed. I might be back for a mid week check in though ;-) .

Kristine :)

Dear Stacey,

What kind of workouts do you do on your elliptical. My husband just got me one a few months ago.

Hi Trish!
I also LOVE the baby talk, it's adorable:) You also had great workouts last week, and I'm glad to see you like pilates like me. I try to do pilates once a week (don't always fit it in, but it's my goal).

As far as Kim Spreen goes, I think she is outstanding. The only dvd I have is the CardioCamp and it is excellent. I actually haven't tried KickMax or KPC, so I couldn't really give a good comparison to Kim Spreen. However, I'm guessing there are other's (maybe in the general question/dvd section that might be able to answer that). The music in the dvd is awesome and keeps you moving, and the workout has a great "flow". I'll definitely be looking for some more of her workouts in the future. For Pilates, I'm a big Ellen Barrett (she did a lot of the Crunch Pilates dvd's) and Michelle Dozois fan. I guess I like to mix my workouts up a bit and do several Cathe workouts a week and then throw in some Pilates, kickboxing, etc. by other instructors. Helps me to not get bored or burned out.

Okay, hope that's somewhat helpful;)

Have a great day!

Hello Kristine!
Nice to hear from you and great workouts:) Heidi sounds so adorable, and that's funny about her only saying momma when she's mad or fussy. Ryan was doing the same thing for a while, and now he just says momma over and over. I also think that Ryan is super close to crawling!

As far as the new workouts, they look incredible, but I'm not sure if I'll order them yet or not. I won't be able to purchase any new dvd's (just don't have the extra money right now) until Christmas time and plan on asking for LowMax and LIC. I'd like to preview her new ones and hear how others like it before investing since it is pretty expensive. I am also wanting to see what else she produces this year (like the kickboxing series, travel workout and I think there was mention of another all-step workout). So, it may be my birthday in March before I get any of the new workouts she does this year.

You'll have to tell me how you like the new ones, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed she might offer a cardio compiliation dvd (I asked her about it in the Ask Cathe section of the forum) that would contain just the cardio components for the 4 Day Split dvd.

Have a wonderful day:)

Hi Jennifer! Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the birth of your son:) Mitch and Emma's birthdays are just a few days apart. How are you adjusting to having two?

As far as my elliptical, I have a Horizon Elliptical that we purchased about 5 years ago. It's a great one that offers 6 different program options (intervals, hills, mountains, etc.) so I can choose whatever I want on any given day. I seem to always gravitate to the intervals program because I just really like how it feels, but certainly the other programs are challenging too. You can set the level and length of time as well, and I imagine yours is set up in a similar way. I do enjoy running and walking outdoors, but when the weather is super hot as it is here during the summer, I find the elliptical is a wonderful way of getting cardio in when I need a break from step. I try to get on it 1-2 times a week.

Hope that helps, good luck!

Dear Stacey,

Thanks for the reply. Having two is great! They are 4 1/2 years apart so I think it may not be as challenging as having your Alex and Emma..... :) I truly feel really blessed and happy about having my two children now..I feel more complete. Just need to get back into shape though.

Your response was great! I might use the built in programs on my elliptical. I was reading some other posts and they do iTrain and Cardiocoach programs. Hmmm.

Hi Stacey,

A friend of mine passed along a pilates dvd about a year ago. I just found them in the back of a closet and am so happy!!!:7 I think the Windsor pilates for buns & thighs is really good, but since I've never done pilates before I don't really have a good perspective...but, i was shocked at how badly my glutes were burning at the end of the workout:eek: I usually try to fit it in on a day where I just don't have the energy for cardio or weights but still want to make sure that I'm getting some work out in. Plus, sometimes, I just dont' feel like jumping around;) I'm going to check out both Barrett and Dozois dvds...I'm hoping to find a good one for abs. If you have any in mind, let me know.

I also found a clip of some of Kim Spreen's dvds online and they do look fun as well. Thanks for sharing!

Trish

Jennifer,

I feel the same way as you! Having two is really different from what I was expecting...I thought it would be twice the work, but it's really twice the fun!! AND, it seems like they entertain each other even though my little one is still so young. The family just seems more complete...actually, I think I would even have a third, but hubby is not up for it so farx(

Take care,
Trish

Trish,

I'd highly recommend Crunch SuperSlimdown Yoga/Pilates with Ellen Barrett, Prevention Pilates for Abs with Michelle Dozois, and 10 Minute Solution Pilates with Lara Hudson. I believe you can preview all of these on Collagevideo.com and these are also available on Amazon. You could also check Overstock.com for these titles, sometimes you can get great deals and cheap shipping.

If you get them, hope you like them:)

Trish, just looked at the title of the Michelle Dozois one, it's actually called Prevention Flatten your Belly with Pilates.

Lori, are you out there? Hope your week is going well and Rylan is doing well too:)

Things here are good. Not much new happening really. I can see Rylans personnality comming out already. He as to be on the G-O! He wants to be outside or on the move cause when he is home for a long period, he isn't happy! hahaha

Im not sure if I can remember my workouts but I did do alot of running:

Mon: GS UB and 40 mins run
Tues:Bootcamp from BM2
Wed:KM
Thurs: 95 mins run
Fri:77 mins run
Sat:77 mins run
Sun:BC& PH UB and the Viper

I had to look and see what I did..couldn't remember for the life of me.
My weight is doing good and on my moms scales (where I am now) its saying I am less then when i weigh at home...wonder if she would switch scales with me;)
