Okay-I sent in my HRM to Polar in NY on Aug. 21 and have yet to get it back from them. It's been over a month!! Has anyone else had this happen?

I insured my package and also paid for delivery confirmation, so I know for 100% sure that they did receive it. I've emailed the service dept. as well with no luck so far.

Arrrgghh.x( x(

Kelly,

I have not had any problems with my Polar yet (fingers and toes crossed) but I have had the same problem with other companies. I have found that if you blast emails to all of the corporate big shots you can usually get answers. The last problem I had was a year ago with the recumbent bike my DH bought me. I researched the company after receiving little satisfaction from customer service. I found out how to email all of the corporate big wigs and like a miracle I received answers and an expedited response from customer service. Ahhhh...nothing like the power of an email. Good luck to you, HTH.

Have you called them? I've had good responses with emails to them. And a month is generally the minimum length of time, depending on what you need.

I have finally taken my Polar's (HRM) to a reputable jeweler, and he replaces the batteries for about $10. I got tired of sending them in so I found this works well....:)

Yes, this happened to me last year. They told me they had a 10 day average turn around time before I sent it in. It took a little more than a month to get it back. I would call and check on it if I were you. I called on mine and they told me they were back logged. Maybe the same thing is going on with yours.

I just replace the batteries myself - it's not difficult at all. I've never sent mine to Polar - I think it's a crock that they want you to send it in for battery replacement. I know it voids the warranty if you don't have them do it, but mine is too old to be covered by the warranty anyway. The battery costs all of $2 and takes 5 minutes to replace. It's ridiculous that they take a month to do it!

Thanks everybody. I feel better just knowing that this seems to be typical, even if it's an outrageously long time. My warrenty runs out in Dec. and then I will absolutely replace the battery myself. This is actually the second time I've had to send it in--the first time I thought it was just a battery replacement, and they actually had to send me a whole new unit--so I'm glad I didn't void the warrenty then!

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Kelly

It's easy to replace? Really? That's good news to me. I take it in to Batteries Plus and the guy behind the counter always says in a grumpy way "Those are hard to do" but yet it only takes him 5 minutes. Maybe he's just a grumpy guy period. Do you use special tools to open up the back. And just to clarify, you're talking about the watch portion and not the chest strap, right? Or do you do both?
