Im sorry to be a downer but I just can't get this girl off of my mind.

My mom called me on Fri morning to tell me that a girl in my hometowm had been murdered by her boyfriend in the wee hours of the morning. She was a single mom who had intentions of getting back together with her ex and Im assuming her boyfriend did not like the news.
According to the news on Fri when she was found, her 3 yrs old son was sitting next to her, saying "help mommy,she won't get up".
After killing his girlfriend/second cousin...the coward ended his own life.
Now that I have put a face to the name, I cannot get her or her little boys face out of my mind! It breaks my heart to think that this little boy has to grow up without his mom. Sure he has his grandparents but there is nothing like a mothers love. She was only 23 yrs old had had her whole life ahead of her.
Can you please keep this family in your prayers? They are going to have such a hard road ahead of them and for the little boy, who doesn't understand why his mommy isn't comming back.

I will definitely keep them in my thoughts and prayers. I believe that everything happens for a reason but with something like this it sure makes you wonder;(

Hey, gidget1978 -

This may sound strange but I think I might have a little understanding about your mindset. Out here in MD we had a similar situation involving a man and woman, who had been involved but were currently estranged from each other. Newspapers reported that he was not the most balanced of people. One day, after some heated interactions with each other, he called her up and told her he was going to 'do something' to himself and their children.

What did he do? Almost immediately after the phone call, he hung the two children from a tree out in the woods in a place not far from our house, then hung himself. She discovered the bodies.

I often think about it when I drive past the place on the way to the barn where my horse lives. Just like you, I couldn't stop thinking about the children and the horror of their final moments. Unlike you though, I never knew who the children were or the parents.

It is mind numbing to think of what humans are capable of doing to each other (and themselves).

However, I can tell you it will get better with time. I perseverated on it for weeks, but finally my mind began letting go. I couldn't understand why I was so fixated since I didn't know anyone involved in the story.

Strange, huh?
