I had my body fat tested at my club after buying a scale that gives your bf. I didn't like the result so I went to the club and the result was worse!! 30%

I need to lose this extra fat. Heart disease runs in my family and I think I need to drop it (not just for vanity) for my health.

I feel like I do a decent job of eating and working out - not perfect but decent.

Please help with advise from those that have dropped their body fat!!! What can I do?? I am really at a loss and feel very upset. I would have never guessed that my BF was so high.

I would really appreciate any advise from someone who has really dropped theirs.

My advice is to make sure you are doing enough cardio and it is intense enough and long enough(40-45 minutes) and I would suggest focusing on several muscle groups per day instead of a full body workout(Just my opion) and I would make sure the eating is clean. It is easy to fool ourselves into thinking that the little snacks we have throughout the day don't count. Trust me the eating is the only thing that ever makes my weight go down or up. The workout of course are key too, but I think most of us are really great about the workouts and the duration and frequency. Hope this helps and good luck:)

ALthough exercise will help reduce your risk of heart disease, nutrition is so important as well. Consider adopting a vegetarian diet or at least eliminating meat a few days a week to start. Do a quick search on Dr. Dean Ornish. He has been very successful in helping patients with heart problems greatly reduce their risks/symptoms through vegetarianism.
