Apparently all employees at the university will now be monitored for internet usage. We're not supposed to use it for personal interests, of course, but everyone does... and then some. For the past week, the university maxed out its capacity every single day. Therefore, internet usage is monitored. You ladies can guess what that means, can't you? No more daytime posting !!! x( :eek: ;( So anyhow, this is to let you know I'll zip in whenever I get the chance... but considering how bad the employment situation is in our department, I'm not about to risk getting written up for non-work-related internet use!

<--tells Shannon that she just asked DH and he says that every time you go to a website, the name of the website is logged somewhere. Presumably, they can tell from the name of the website that it's not work-related, or they might just ask you what it is. DH says if it's a big university, they probably don't have someone reading the logs, but rather are alerted when someone goes to particular websites where people download lots of information like Napster or itunes, because big downloads are the main problem.
