Plates and Barbell Weights

HomeschoolMom

Cathlete
I am enjoying watching the clips of the new workouts and cannot wait for them to be at my door. I am curious what the weights are of the various plates and barbells used in the new workouts. I like to always judge what to set my bar up with for the first time based on what is being used by the crew. I am assuming the large plates are 10 lbs. and the small are 5 lb., but I have no idea what the empty bar weighs.

I'd also like to know when Cathe says 20 pounds for example, is that 20 pounds total or 20 pounds on each side of the barbell?

And does that total include the weight of the barbell? I have two barbells that without weights are 15 and 20 pounds--so I always have to figure that into the total + plates.

The weight load cathe and the crew are lifting for upcoming RWH are listed on equipment used tab.

Just go on Cathe's site, search RWH and click on workout you need the information for.
They are all listed there.:);)

Thanks for this info.
I'm unable to find the search function that you're talking about. Is it on the main page for Cathe dot com?
TIA!

I think the one Nathalie is referring to is on ShopCathe - then select the RwH series, and each dvd has a description and an equipment tab. HTH

The barbell Cathe uses is 5 lbs, then if you look at the size of her plates, the biggest is a 10 lb plate, medium is 5 lbs and smallest is 2.5 lbs. much different than a standard or Olympic size barbell set. You can usually just eyeball what she is using and know based on these weights.
