Planters Fasciitis, help for you

Many years ago I had to see a podiatrist because of the pain in my heels were so bad I could barely walk. He said I have flat feet and have Planters Fasciitis.

He fitted me for a pair of arch supports, also a pair for when I went jogging. Very expensive. Every few years I had to do this, because they would wear out, like regular shoes do.

I moved and had to find another podiatrist, but this one for whatever reason, told me that he will help me save a bundle of money. And that he just doesn't tell everyone this, but he will for me. I think he felt sorry for me. I gave him an ear full of my problems at that time of my life.

He said to purchase a pair of Birkenstock shoes. That the people he did tell this too, never had to worry about pain or planters fasciitis again. Of course I purchased them, and never again had the pain in my heels. I also purchased several pairs of Birkenstock inserts to put in my other shoes that look good with what I wear. Only one problem, inserts don't work in sandals, they fall out. But, they have fantastic sandals you can buy. I've had a pair of sandals from Birkenstock that has lasted me 6 years and still going strong.

So, here you go, save money and feel no more pain.

Here is the site I use, it is the original people that invented Birkenstock and from Germany. There is an English side to this site, just press the American fag. The sizes are very different from what we are use to, and they have information for you, on how to pick the correct size for you. Our money still is worth more than theirs and will save you even more.

I hope this helps you all. You have helped me with my fitness and health, and just wanted to give back some how.

Thank you Janie!! I may have to order these, as I underpronate( walk on the outsides of my feet) just went to the doc last week, she reccommended new balance shoes and superfeet insoles. I need all the help I can get. :) :)

Thank you, Thank You!!!

I also have Plantar Faciitis. While Birkenstocks may work for some, they don't fit me well. I think it's important though, to find a good support shoe/sandal that you can wear all the time. The key to no more pain is basically NOT going barefoot... ever! Also, don't forget to stretch your foot!!

Can you go running? Do you ever go for Longggg walks? My PF will get better and then it will come back whenever I have serious activity. I can do my Cathe, but I have to juggle my light impact days with heavy impact. It's a constant battle for me. I wear the Dansko shoes, they work better for me than the burks do. I'm glad you found something that is working so well for you. My PF slows me down considerably, I love to run and I just have had to face that I cannot run like I'd like to.

Heather,

I guess someone above is watching over me. I can do anything now, and PF is no longer an issue. Hike, jog, walk, run...as long as I wear my birks.

That's why I wanted people to know. I wished it could work for everyone. I still believe it would for most people.

I went to a shoe store today called, "The Walking Company". They had lots of brands of comfortable, walking shoes good for people dealing with PF. I bought a pair of sandals made by "Naot". They are incredibly comfortable. I feel like I'm walking on air. Also, they are very cute... something I found lacking in the Birks.

HTH! :)
