Plank exercises: How often?

I'm finding that my shoulders and arms are often a little too fried when I try to the plank exercises at the end of some of the tapes (like CTX Kickbox & biceps, and S&H Chest & Back).

So I'd like to try working these in at other times during my workouts...so I can focus on my core instead of my shoulders. The question I have is how often should/could planks be done? Should I be concerned with overtraining where this type of exercise is concerned.

I'd say that they could be done 2x a week for fine results. That is how many times Cathe put them in CTX which is supposed to define your workouts for a week.

I'd say if you are not sore that you could do them more frequently. However, who wants their center--which supports all movements--to be tired out?

I also do them at the beginning of my workouts instead of the end. Jeanne
