Is anyone watching this news special on CNN? I just landed on it while flipping channels and wasn't paying attention until I saw a scene of people on a boat chopping off the fins of a live shark and throwing the poor creature into the water to die, unable to swim... It's body splitting in two... all so people in Taiwan can sip shark fin soup. It's easily one of the most awful things I've ever seen. I'm just sick.

Yes, I watch it. It is heartbreaking - but we all can do something small to stop it.

I wrote CNN and asked how I could help wake the Taiwanese to the wrong of what they're doing but haven't heard back.. I will never forget the shock in the eyes of that poor shark as his fin was being ripped away from his body and his eyes seemed to be begging for mercy. It was the last thing I thought about when I went to bed and the first thing I thought about when I woke. I didn't think I'd ever get to sleep. I had a 7am doctor's appointment and sat in the waiting room, in the quiet, dwelling on the horror. Those poor creatures.
