Pinching cervical pains?

Has anyone dealt with this?
I'm 37.5 weeks at this point, so I've got all of the typical gripes. Most annoyingly, I've had searing pain shooting through my pubic bones, and this pinching feeling basically where my cervix is.

The doc doesn't check for dialiation until 38 weeks, so I don't find out until next week's apt if I'm making any progress there.

What is this pain about? It's not long, but it comes in tinges that make me have to stop when I'm doing or make me gasp out loud when they hit me.
This has been going on for about a week, and though I'd see if any of the experienced ladies had been through this?

Does it feel like a corkscrew going through your cervix? Not sure what it is, but I've always gotten it about 37 weeks through delivery.

I got this really bad with my first pregnancy. I worked at a university in a downtown area and used to walk to all of my appointments, I'd be walking and just have to stand still when I'd get those shooting pains. I remember I started dilating a few weeks early too. I was between 3 and four when I went in to get induced at 39 weeks. You may be starting to see some cervical changes. I don't remember the pains being as plentiful with my second child.

That's a great description Kristen, and yes!
It's like a stabbing pain in what I can only guess is my cervix.
Occasionally, it comes along with gas or #2 pains, but lately it's been coming along without either of those things.

Guess I'll just have to suck it up.

Hi all, just wanted to update on this, since others have had the same issue.

My doctor told me yesterday that the pinching feeing is just the baby kind of rattling around down there and bouncing off of the cervix and bladder. I guess there's a lot of nerves, so that's why the pain is particularly sharp.

I was really hoping that it had something to do with progess in dialating, but as of yesterday I am not even dialated to the size of a pin head. So it's really just bubs down there trying to wear my cervix like a hat.

Ugh!
Anyway, hopefully everyone has a nice weekend lined up!
