Perms for Hair

I am sure that I read there is now a perm for your hair that uses no chemicals, has anyone else heard of this perm? I would like a bit of curl for those days when you just want to rush and run. I color my hair so I am a bit leary of doing the traditional "perm thing."

I also color my hair, usually by myself. I don't know what perm my stylist uses but she conditions the ends first and then perms my hair. My hair comes out great every time. In fact I am do for my perm this Tues.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing.

Do you have a really curly perm, or, is it loose? I am looking for a casual look so that I can still blow it dry straight when I feel like it. I am not to keen on those perms that when wet they are all those tight little curls. No what I mean?

Hmm, don't know what happened to my reply but I'll try this again. My hair is fine and thin but takes a curl really well. I also color my hair because I started going grey in my late teens. Sometimes I have it cut short and work with what I have and other times I let my hair grow to my shoulders and perm it. I cannot have even med. long hair without a perm.

My sytlist usually cuts in long layers in my hair. I do not get a kink curl perm but it is more than "loose curl" too. She also razors my bank lightly for lift and fullness. My perms (with me working with my hair) last me about 6 to 8 months.

I also go to her once a year for highlights in the late spring. As long as I put the highlights or color first and then the perm all is well. If I get the perm first and then the color, it relaxes my hair too much and I have to get a perm sooner that I want.
