I cannot take credit for this idea as I saw it on another forum but I had to list it here in hopes of sparking a new strength training system in the near future. And since the trend with Cathe seems to be releasing a set of workouts every year or so AND the latest trend is for SHORTER workouts- here's the pitch:
Cathe creates a ChaLEAN Extreme-styled workout! But only 100x better!
Nothing as in depth as STS and the workouts would have a circuit-style flavor to them. It burns a lot of calories and gets you in and out in 30-40 minutes without the use of premixes. Cathe and Crew could make it so that 2-4 workouts are one DVD and that way you could get endless premix options like those of 4DS and other older workouts (Bonus for those that love longer workouts). You could still have the various "Meso" phases but Make it an Meso Circuit-style that uses different exercise combos in each workout. I know all about STS TB, but why not expand on that idea and make a Circuit only system vs one DVD. We don't need 36-40 DVDs, but rather 6-12 (you can get 100s of premixes). Circuits are growing more and more popular as are the 30-40 minute routines. What a wonderful way to make use of the new Gliding Discs and Fire Walker Bands! Just like in CLX we could have the option of using Bands-only, Weights-only, or something different- a combo of both (like lat pull downs with bands). Also by showing exercises with Bands-only or a combo there of, you can make this a Travel-Friendly system like a Travel Fit-ish Series. The customer holds the cards; they can choose how much or how little equipment they want to use and how the long of a workout they want (premixes) as well as cardio-only or certain spilt-only options (again, premixes). Think about it, if you have 6 DVDs all with some sort of Upper-only and Lower Only premix along with a few other split, shorter/longer workouts you are getting literally dozens and dozens of "new" workouts. 6 Upper only workouts all different, same with lower?! WOW! and that's all a bonus from having the Circuits in the first place, so everyone wins!
It's a long shot I'm sure, but giving us something that uses very little equipment and it makes a system out of something great. I'm a fan of CLX in the sense of how it's broken down and how it works the body. But I feel some of the moves are a little unsafe and Chalene is not a favorite. But a Cathe Version would be music to my ears. I trust her exercise/strength movements. I also trust she won't throw a risky lifting pattern into the mix without showing some sort of less intense option. It would be like combining STS and 4DS into 1 system. Some with heavier weights, some with lighter/body weight only movements. Use the new gliding Discs to their full potential in a future production. Oh how great this all sounds!
Just an idea...but a good idea, I think!
EDIT: Functional Fitness moves including those with a Stability Ball could be used as well. This could be a knock out of a system!
