Good Morning all,

I have not worked out yet, but plan on doing an I-Train eliptical circuit workout.. "I may regret that" as Cathe says! I only did this one other time and I burned the most calories ever, also had DOMS for days. It has you doing the eliptical for a bit, then getting off and doing weights, then back on etc. It is only 40 minutes long but it is a killer!}(

Linny:
Don't those memories make you smile?:) How was the movie? DH and I rented "Must Love Dogs" last night. The girl at the counter said that we had not been in since 2003! We are so out of touch with media stuff, movies and TV. Too bad about the time thing with the personal trainer.:(

Garance:
Too bad about not being able to get to the dancing. Sounds like your DH had a good time with an old friend. Maybe DH and I will rent Enchanted next time and actually see a movie that is pretty recent. One other thing I forgot to list was those Perfect Push Up things.. I'm with you.. I 'm going to probably order the Pull up contraption, then see what the workouts are like before I invest a lot of money in extra equipment. Still cold here too!

Josie:
Hope you are doing ok?

Have a great day!

Deb

Hi Deb and later posters--

This morning I did 4ds Kickbox with legs and abs (70 min.).

So you have both a treadmill and an elliptical, Deb? Wow! You must have a whole room for all of your fitness equipment. I just work out in the living room--put down some bound leftover carpet pieces so I don't wear our carpet thin, move one piece of furniture, and get going. I have most of my stuff in a closet, but leave my weights lined up in front of our mantle and fireplace, which we never use.

Sounds like I can wear some springy outfits this week, since it's supposed to go up into the 50s and 60s. You never know, though. They said today was supposed to reach into the 50s, but it just stops at 44.

When do you get the stitches out, Josie? Hope you are at least feeling less battered.

Hi Ladies:
Well winding down another weekend.Darn it!How come during the week time goes so slow, but weekends are too fast?
I took my Online Boat Exam and passed, got a 96%.So next my DH has to take it, then we call up and set an appt to sit for the exam.So I still have a couple of weeks I can study.
Deb:I did see that movie"Must like Dogs" awhile back,it was cute.
Leatherheads was pretty good(B-).George Clooney is easy on the eyes:).I think I will get that pull-up machine,if the shipping isn't too outrageous.I was showing it to my DS today he thought it was pretty cool.I use to have one in my doorway but my DH kept hitting his head on it.
Garance: I haven't seen Enchanted yet.I heard it was pretty good.
I did hear that wed and thurs was suppose to be in the 60's. Is this the end of winter? I think I will go with your suggestion and buy one of the 4-mile dvds.I think I could probably handle something like that on the days that I work.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!~Linny~

Good Morning!

Today was a 35 minute I-Tread workout. I could have slept in this morning, my body was not ready to get up. I think it's the dinner we had at by DB's yesterday.. they did a complete Easter Ham dinner because they were away for Easter. I ate way too much and did not hesitate at the ice cream cake. Back to reality today!

Garance:
Yes I have a treadmill, eliptical, bike, weight bench etc. We have a part of our basement finished ( done in the 50':) I am sure), and I have half, DH has half. The bike and eliptical are on his half, treadmill and bench and all the other "stuff" are on mine. It's pretty crowded. I was glad to see that the pull up contraption that Cathe will be selling folds up. My treadmill is the kind that lifts up too or I would not be able to have anything else! Hopefully we can start wearing some of those spring clothes!

Linny:
High ^^^'s to you for passing that boat exam!:7 I hear you on the doorway pull up bar.. my doors are too low in the basement, so it's really hard to use. I would like one high enough that you have to jump up to get to it. I can stand under mine and reach up and grab it. I have Enchanted on our "list" of ones to rent. Are you feeling better in the am when you get off work?

Josie: hope you are doing better. We miss you here.

Have a great day!

Deb

Hi Deb and Linny--

This morning I did 4ds HIS with chest and back (58 min.).

I too had a hard time getting up this morning, but I cannot blame it on our dinner last night. It was extremely healthy: Cod loins in parchment packets with asparagus, roasted garlic, orange zest and juice and fresh tarragon sprigs. A half Tbsp of butter on each and bake at 400 for 17 min. I picked up the recipe at Epicurious.com and added the roasted garlic and zest to give it zip. DH loved it. So did I.

Hmm--a foldup treadmill? I have often thought about getting one, except there's nowhere unobtrusive to put it. I had a Nordic track for awhile, did not enjoy it, and it was just this monstrosity--the elephant in the room.

Good for you, Linny on your boat exam!

No exercise for me tomorrow. I'm fasting for my blood and cholesterol test. Hope I get in right away at 8 A.M.

Enjoy this fine spring day. Beautiful here.

Hi Deb and Garance:
Thanks for the congrats for passing boat exam.I'm still studying for the big final one which will give me my license.Probably take it towards the end of the month.
I wanted to lie down this afternoon since I have to work tonite, but I'm just not tired.I know I'll be sorry come 3am.
Deb: Someday I'd like to get a treadmill.I have a Spinner,NordicFlex and free weights.I haven't used my spinner in months. What a waste of money.I did Low Impact Cardio today and biceps. This will probably be my last workout till friday:-( .Unless I get some sleep and energy.
Garance:I had a Nordictrac a few years back and lost quite a bit of weight with it.Just put on my headphones and went to town.I weighed in today for WW and lost another 1.8pds.Yippee!Thats 4 dowm and 22 to go. Your dinner sounds yummy!
Weather is still kinda of cool 40's here.~Linny~

Hi Ladies,

I'm back at work and I feel ok. I look like I had a fight with someone over the weekend, but I feel fine. My stitches are coming out tomorrow and have to wait for the Dr. to give me the go ahed on my workouts.

I will not be running on the streets or sidewalks anymore. From now on I will only run on the sand at the beach. At least there I will not crack my head open.

Josie

Good Morning!

Today I did the up only pre-mix from Pyramid Upper Body. I think I may "attempt" the whole pyramid on this one on Sunday. I may collaps before I finish, but want to see if I can do it. Anyone have a favorite Cathe lower body that is about 35-40 minutes long? It can be a pre-mix. It seems I do more pre-mixes now a days.. It was beautiful here yesterday, 60 and sunny. Maybe spring has finally "sprung"!

Garance:
Your recipe sounds wonderful! The fold up treadmill is the only way to go if you are going to ever have one. DH bought a Nordic Trac and he hardly ever used it. I tried it and hated it. I used to slide right off the back. The movement did not seem natural to me. I actually gave it to a local Cathe follower that I found through the Open Discussion forum. She lives about 15 miles from here so she came and picked it up..glad it went to someone that likes them. We were ready to put it on the curb. Hope they do your test early...let us know how you do. I have high cholesterol, but the good part is high so they let me slide on having to take any meds.

Linny:
Hope you had a good night and did not get too sleepy at 3:00 am. What is a Nordic flex? I have an old fashioned stationery bike, not what they have out today for spinning. It's buried under stuff somewhere in the room.. DH uses it to hang his fishing gear on.:D
Cudos to you on the weight loss! :7

Josie:
Good to see you stopping in and glad you are doing better. It's back to the dunes with you young lady!

Have a great day!

Deb

Hi Deb, Linny, and Josie--

I did not exercise this morning because of fasting for my blood tests. I did get in at 8:15, second person up. According to the hematologist, I could have had water and black coffee. Is this a new idea? I always thought it was absolutely no food OR liquids after midnight.

What kind of foldover treadmill do you own, Deb? I also hated the Nordic Track--I just felt like I was slogging away and not getting anywhere.

Josie, I didn't want to mention this in my earlier post, and maybe it doesn't apply to you, but it took me a solid month before I started to look normal again. People also seemed embarrassed about asking me how I did this to myself, and I wondered if they thought I was a victim of domestic abuse. Maybe I was just hypersensitive--but I did get a lot of stares.

Beautiful weather here today. Gradual warming trend I believe.

Hi Ladies,

I do get a lot of stares, but I just say " You should see the other girl's face". All of my friends and co-workers know what happend and everyone else does not matter. I know that this will take a while to heal because this is not my first time. I'm a pro at this unfortunately

I will be walking this evening if my Dr. approves it.

Have a great day Deb, Linny and Garance. Jen where are you?

Josie

Hi Ladies:
Just a quick hello before I leave for work.
No workout today, maybe tomorrow.Made it though the night last night, the drive home was tough.Usually I'm not as tired after the first night on.DD wants to go to a spa with me,it was a Christmas gift I haven't used yet.Spa and lunch sounds like fun.
Ladies have a great night~Linny~

Good Morning!

No workout for me this morning...DH was snoring last night and I could not sleep..I ended up downstairs on the couch, and did not sleep well at all. I may try to do something when I get home tonight but that usually never happens. Maybe a rest day is what my body needs. I hope the weather today is like yesterday...sunny and 68!

Garance:
I'm with you on the fasting before having blood done for tests. I was told only water after midnight, no coffee. DH had his done and he didn;t fast at all! I kept telling him he should not be eating and he said they never told him that.. seeing that we have the same doctor, with the same office staff that didn;t make sense to me.
I have a treadmill made by Vision Fitness. It is the brand that a local fitness shop here sells. I really like it a lot.

Josie:
I feel so bad for you:-( ..I hope your DR lets you walk and you start healing immediately!

Linny:
Yes! Spa and lunch sounds like a wonderful way to relax!

Have a great day!

Deb

Good Morning Ladies,

I was able to walk last night and my Dr. removed 9 out of the 13 stitches. I need to go back on Friday for the rest.

I will be walking again this evening.

Have a great day everyone!

Josie

Hi Deb, Josie, Linny--

This morning I did Leslie's Walk Slim 4 Fast Miles, with her turned off--Yes!

Good for you Josie--you must be feeling better. You are lucky about people all knowing you. It was much harder for me on a college campus, and then teaching and looking as bad as I did.

Spring fever here. Just plain gorgeous. Wish I didn't have to stay in this afternoon and get my lesson planned for tomorrow.

Sorry about the snoring DH Deb. That would keep me up, too. Did you watch DWTS elimination last night? The radio comedian is out.

Linny--is this a day spa you went to? Sounds great.

Hi Ladies:
Deb: Sorry to hear of your bad night. My DH has some snoring issues at times, thats why I love my earplugs.I know I snore occasionally too,I've woken myself up at times:) I know whenever I've worked the lab wants only water to be taken with fasting labs. Hope you're able to get a workout in today.

Garance:I bought Walk-Slim 4 fast miles yesterday on Amazon.Should be here in about a week.Hopefully this be one I can do during the week when I work.We only got into the low 50's today.Thats one thing about living so close to the ocean,it takes forever to get warm here.

Josie:So glad to hear your on the mend.Does the doctor think you'll have much scarring? I don't blame you going back to sand and no more pavement.Be safe.

Found out today going for the big final test for boat license on April 26th.My DH said that they told him there will be 60 questions and mostly on horn signals and buoy markers(the things I have a tough time with). My DD will be setting up a spa/lunch appt for May 3rd.I can't wait,I haven't been to spa since my bridal shower in 2000.I always get suckered into buying their products though.
I hope you ladies have a great night~Linny~

Good Morning,

I just got back from taking DH to the airport. He is going to Saratoga to visit his Mom for a few days. I took today off from work to do some organizing around here. I hope I don;t get lazy and just lay around enjoying the day! I 'm that type. No workout yet. That will be a little later. I think I will do Slow & Heavy Legs.

Josie:
So glad you were able to walk and that you got someo of the stitches out. I bet you are feeling good about that!

Garance:
Yes I watched DWTS, and actually did not know for once who was voted off before I watched it. Aren't those kid really cute! How good they are!

Linny:
I have great ear plugs, but I am afraid to wear them thinking that I won;t hear it if something happens. I am the "watch dog" of the house when it comes between me and DH. I always listen for noises etc. I think you will love the spa! Just say NO to the products. (Listen to me... I do the same thing! LOL!)

Have a great day!

Deb:)

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie--

This morning I did Ellen Barrett's Slim Sculpt (45 min.).

I'm wearing sandals today, because I wished I had worn them yesterday, and I know I won't get to wear them for the next week, because the weather is going to shift back into early spring after today, which is glorious. Long sentence!

I think you can easily divide up the Leslie Sansone, Linny. There's even an extra 1-mile DVD that you can do all by itself. Hope it works for you. Here's wishing you mastery on your buoys and horns! (That sounds weird.)

So my cholesterol is 258, but the good cholesterol is 110, the bad is 140, and triglycerides are 35. Doctor says he's not worried, even though it's high overall, because the good stuff is off the charts. Everything else looks great.

Enjoy your day off, Deb. I hope it's as beautiful there as it is here.

Big afternoon teaching, followed by a lecture, followed by dinner out with the lecturer.

Hi Ladies:
Deb: Sounds like you'll have a little "me" time.Enjoy! Good luck with the Slow and Heavy,my legs are hurting for days after that one.
I get ya on ethe ear plugs.Sometimes they can be a pain when I first put them in to sleep. All I can hear is the beating of my heart.Which then keeps me awake.
Garance: Do you have a different dvd for each day? I let you know when I get my Leslie dvd. Glad to hear your labs came back with good results. I know ususally the like it under 200 but the "good" is high. Its probably from all that sushi :) Keep on doing what your doing.
I got up about an hour ago and saw it was 70 degrees,I had to open the door and smell.I think its spring! YAH! Maybe if I can get some energy I'll take a walk.Have a great night ladies.~Linny~

Good Morning ladies!

I just did an I-Tread called "Drills"...it has all different types of walking, speed changes, hill changes, not bad. For some reason I don;t burn as many calories with this one as the others, but it's a change so I throw it in every once in a while.

It's raining here, and has been all night. DH made it to California safely, and is doing errands etc for his Mom. I did the big seasonal clothes switch yesterday. I wanted to get rid of a lot of things I don't wear any longer, but I have that "I may need it some day" syndrome.x( ..I haven;t put all the summer stuff in drawers yet so later I am going to go through it again and really try to put some of it in the bag for AmVets.

Garance:
Good for you for wearing those sandals yesterday. You have to do it when you can:) Your cholesterol number was close to mine from 2 years ago. Mine was 257, with high HDL too! Then I lost the weight and the last time I went, it was 238, still high HDL. My DR didn't suggest meds, which I was happy to not have to do. DH is on Lipitor, and it has a lot of side effects. Hope you had a nice dinner with the lecturer.

Linny:
Wow 70 degrees! How nice. I bet you had a good walk. I keep thinking of you when I am sitting here typing, that Linny is getting ready to go home from work right now. I hope you are feeling better about the shift and may be able to sneak in a workout as soon as you get home.. maybe that 1 mile Leslie DVD is a good one to start with. short and sweet!;-)

Waves "Hi" to Josie!

I am worried about Jen...I hope everything is ok with her.

Have a great day!

Deb

Hi Deb, Linny, and Josie--

This mornng I did 4ds Bootcamp with Bis and Tris (62 min.). Cathe's always good and the weights are especially good on this one.

I was so tired by the time I returned home last night, I just flopped. I taught from 1-4, then went to a colloquium that I had read a paper for that lasted an hour and 45 min., then out to dinner and more intellectual discussion of poetry and philosophy, and left earlier than the others to get home by 8:30. My head was spinning, and I caught the final 30 min. of American Idol as an antidote to too much thinking. Very disappointed in the elimination of the Aussie heartthrob.

It's cool and rainy here today. Yesterday struggled into the 60s, but I wore those sandals anyway.

Deb, my "considerations" for discards are 1)if you haven't worn this thing for 3 years, it's time to go; 2)would you prefer to replace this item with something like it but more attractive; 3) are you saving this item because you spent a lot of time making it--and that is the only reason; 4) are the shoulders too big on this item to ever come back; 5) even when you wore this item, how many times was it; and 6) did this thing EVER fit you comfortably and attractively. Lots of room for interpretation here, but I have never thrown something out and wished that I had it again. Most of the time it's out of sight, out of mind.

I'm worried about Jen, too. Jen, if you are not having any health issues, but are just too swamped with your glamorous and exciting new job, let us know--please?
