Good Morning!

I got a late start posting, as I have been doing laundry etc. I did S&H legs and Christie Taylor abs from Get up & Dance DVD. I felt these when I did them last week, hopefully they are working!

We heard from the breeder last night.. she told us that she has it down to one puppy, and maybe another..but she is pretty sure of the one.. It's the one they call "Keegan"! I knew there was something special about that one.. I have had his picure as a link on my desktop for 3 weeks!

Garance:
So now that we know it is pretty likely to be "Keegan" we are really torn on the name! I like Zack a lot, but DH does not. Did you finish the book yesterday? I read one in it's entirety, after going to the library yesterday morning. What was the surprise for DH?

Linny:
I sure hope the meds start to help you soon! Did the DR give you an estimate of how long before you get your period? Yes...DS will learn, just like we all did! I would have thought you would be glad to have a day shift..is it stressful because it is busier? You would lose the extra pay too, I guess. What does your DH think?

Josie: how are you ?

Have a great day!

Deb

Hi Deb, Linny, and Josie if you are still around--

This morning I did Christi Taylor's Dance Fit (70 min.). Deb, I think it's the same one you did. I think she gives the abs a double whammy, first with those toe taps out while seated, because you are leaning back and hitting the lower abs, and then at the end when you are lying down and she hits the uppers.

DH did get the template for a very nice sign for the farm. After the board meeting and cocktail party was over, we went out with a few others to the local Thai restaurant. I had--predictably--sushi, my favorite. I couldn't eat all of it, so I brought back my California roll and will stir up some wasabi and have tonight before burgers.

I like that name Keegan, too, and I agree, Deb, he looked so cute sitting there--very proud and alert. Will you have him neutered?

Poor Linny! I really feel for you because I've been there and done that. At the dance party on Friday night, a woman sitting at my table suddenly started fanning herself and I knew exactly what she was going through. She just shook her head and said "Two years--when will this be over??"

Hi Deb,Garance and Josie:

Deb:I hope it all works out that you get that little Keegan. He has the sweetest little face. How much longer till you pick up puppy?
I was taking progesterone in Jan. and started period a day after. But for some reason I'm on day 3 without anything yet.i wish it would hurry because I know last time it was very bad. Day shift is definitely busier. All the patients are awake so med pass is heavy,MD,families, appts so pretty busy.I know there were a few days where the nurses were short staffed and management did nothing to replace nurse. So I have to outweigh the good and bad of each shift.I will be losing $3 ahour and I realize that working third is bad physically for your body but so isn't too much stress.DH would be thrilled for me to work 1st.Then he would have me home in bed with him.
Garance:I bought Dance fit but haven't reviewed it yet.Maybe tomorrow.Congrats to your DH on the template for farm. Are California rolls like spring rolls?I took my DS out today for lunch and bought some southwestern spring rolls. The were tasty, with chicken and a hot sauce inside.Last night I took 2 tylenol pm's and woke up late and groggy this morning. But at least I only woke up once during the night with a hot flash.
Josie:Hope all is well in California.~Linny~

Good Morning and Happy Monday!

Today I did a new I-Tread, 40 minute walk, burned 303 calories. I am hoping that we get better weather today, it rained all day yesterday, no yard work done this weekend. x( .

Well it is confirmed...Keegan is our puppy! Here they are having fun on agility equipment! I hope this works!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjetJU2rTTA

Garance:
I think you are rignt about the Christie Taylor DVD..I may have the wrong name, but it's the one you recommended I believe. Regarding the puppy, yes we will have him neutered. It will be part of the contract with the breeder.. not that we wouldn't do it anyway.

Linny:
We pick up Keegan on June 5, we fly to Chicago, drive about 1 1/2 hours to Rocton Ill. We are staying 2 nights, then we bring him home June 7. I sure hope those meds work soon for you too! It sounds like 1st shift may be better for you, give you a normal life again, even if it is busier.

Have a great day!

Deb :)

Hi Deb and Linny--

This morning I did 4ds Kickbox with legs and abs (70 min.)

The youtube video is great. You, Deb, are going to have your hands full when you pick up Keegan. Puppies are fun, but also a lot of mischief, and these look high-energy, but very entertaining.

Linny, California rolls are a cylinder of rice and cooked crab wrapped in seaweed and then sliced into little rounds. I think there's something else in the center, but I'm not sure. If you are squeamish about sushi nigiri, which is raw fish, then the rolls are a good place to start if you ever want to try sushi. Wasabi is this devilishly hot mustard that skyrockets through your sinuses and makes your eyes water. You mix it with some soy sauce for dipping and grab a little piece of pickled ginger to go with the whole thing. Yum!

I think I would prefer a day shift, just for the sake of normality. Maybe if the Loestrin works for you (if you ever get past the current dilemma), the stress of the day shift won't feel so overwhelming.

Mammogram this afternoon, then I have just four exams to grade and I'm done. My office needs a major de-cluttering before I start to do some of my own work.

Brrr! Cold here, but a warm-up is expected over the Memorial Day weekend.

Hi Ladies,

I'm still here and doing well. I was very busy last week and did not have time to post. My DM was in the hospital for 2 days and I was very worried for her, but she is fine now. I saw her on Saturday and she looked well.

I'm still taking the hard core class at my gym and I can see that it is working. I feel that my legs are toning up. For cardio I have been walking on the soft sand and believe me! It is a hard workout.

Deb, Gongrats on your puppy they all look so cute on the video.

Garance, I love sushi also, and at the place that I eat at they make the california roll with brown rice.

Linny, I'm gald that you are working days now. I worked nigh shift when I was in college and the people that had been there for years looked very old. I only lasted one year on that schedule.

I worked out with my trainer on Saturday and walked for an hour on the sand. On Sunday I went to the duens. Today I will take the day off and cook a couple of dishes so that I don't have to be in the kitchen for a few days. It is going to be very hot here in LA.

Have a great day !

Josie

Hi Deb,Garance and Josie:

Deb:I checked out your video-Is he the one that almost falls off plank? They are all so cute.So June 5th is the big day,I bet you're counting down the days.Does Keegan have to ride in a holding area on the plane ride back?I do agree with having more of a normal life on day shift.I'll probably give a try and see what happens.I just make sure to tell them if it doesn't work out that I can go back to nights.
Garance:I did Bodymax 1 and Bi's from PUB.I did review part of Christi Taylor's dance dvd.Lots of hip action going on.I hope I don't throw hip out of socket with some of those moves.:) Those rolls do sound like something I'd like to try sometime.Whats seaweed taste like? They sell it at the fish market but never tried it.I hope everything went alright with mammogram.I always feel like something going to POP when I have one.Still waiting for the missing period.I called MD office today to see if I should be concerned, waiting call back.
Josie:Glad to see you're still with us.Prayers for your Mom!I haven't started days yet.If it does happen it won't be till the end of June.Today was only in the high 50's,feels more like April than May.Stay cool in California.~Linny~

Good Morning,

I did the chest and back from PUB this morning. I like the way I have broken down the upper body excercises from this DVD, that I don;t look forward to any other one. I know it is time to change, but nothing appeals. Do you ever feel that way?

Garance:
Yes the puppy will be challenging but that is half the fun!:D I just hope Kelsey has enough energy to put up with him. I never realized what was in California rolls, I may have to try them! Whenever I hear "Sushi" I just automatically think of raw fishx( .. It is very cold here too...went into the 30's overnight. Everything ok with the mammogram?

Josie:
Sorry to hear about your DM..glad to hear she is doing better. It sounds like you are back into the swing of things with excercising! Good for you! It sounds funny when you say it is going to be so hot, and the rest of us are freezing!:D

Linny:
Yes, I believe Keegan does slip and the girl catches him. They are fearless at that age. When you take an older dog to start agility training ( that is what the plank is..is is called a Dog Walk" and is one of the obstacles in an agility course...the older dogs are terrified and don;t want to walk up it..these little guys have no fear! That's a good idea about telling them that if you don;t like the day shift, you want to be able to go back to nights.

Have a great day ladies!

Deb:)

Hi Deb, Linny, and Josie--

This morning I did 4ds HIS with Chest and Back (58 min.).

I hope your mom is on the road back, Josie, and nice to see you are still around to chat every now and then. I really long for some warm weather and envy you. It still feels like March around here.

I know what you mean about getting into a rut on exercise, Deb. Look at me, I'm still doing the 4ds in rotation with a few others. There's something so appealing about the 30 min. of aerobics coupled with another 30 min. of weight work. Maybe I will go back to the CTX series again, which I liked for the same reasons.

Unless I hear from the x-ray scanners today, my mammogram must be fine.

Linny, I really like the Christi Taylor dancy stuff on this DVD. It's really easy to follow compared to some of her other ones, and lots of variety. DH loves all the hip action.

Any advice on cleaning acrylic?? I did one of those Rebath things a couple years ago in the guest bathroom, and even though it's used seldom, there's this gooey dark film that I find almost impossible to remove. I use vinegar and water, as per their directions, but it's like rubbing your hands together and getting little bits of dirt if you keep on rubbing.

Done with grading, so now it's time to clean my office and begin going through my files for the BIG MOVE.

Have a great day everyone!!

Hi Deb,Garance and Josie:

Last night was pretty crazy. They still haven't replaced nurse who quit so they put me on unit as only nurse with 46 patients. I never was on that unit before, thank god there were no big issues and they are all long term care.Unit isn't rehab/skilled like other unit I usually work on.The day shift nurse that came in said yesterday they made her go to rehab/skilled and she had never been there before. All these family members and physical therapists were asking her all these questions about patients and she couldn't give them any answers. She said she almost started too cry:-( I did talk with Director today and told her to consider me for position but if doesn't work out I want to go back to nights. She is in agreement and said she should know something this week about position.
Deb:I think Keegan is the cutiest puppy of them all.I like his coloring the best.It does look like you'll have yourhands full.I too like PUB.Its easy to use dvd, especially for one body part at a time.
Garance:I had a acrylic tub and used Soft Scrub which worked well.I think I'll continue to review Christi's dvd before I use it.She would probably make a good belly dancing teacher.Congrats on finishing grading.Hope you find time for you.
Hi Josie:Staying cool?~Linny~

Good Morning and Happy Hump Day!

I did one of my new I-Treads this morning..a 35 minute walk, 268 calories.

The weather is still gloomy and cold here. They are predicting a warmer weekend.. yahoo! What is everyone doing for the holiday weekend? I have a high school graduation party Sunday, but otherwise we are "committment free".

I went to a dermatologist the other day for a spot on my face. It turns out that is it just an "age spot" which I will have removed because he said it will grow larger..x(...he also suggested a facial peel, and gave me some info...has anyone had this done?

Garance:
I too love the 4DS series, and I only do the Kickbox cardio. The weight work in that one is so different from all her others. Did you ever end up getting the Timesaver DVD? I know you had a problem on Amazon. No tips on acrylic...I have been struggling with the ceramic tile in my bathroom too!

Linny:
I hope your day shift arrangement work out and you are able to join the "living" again! just kidding..! Actually when I worked at the border, the 4-12 shift was my favorite...it's not good if you have a family but I was single at the time and loved it!

Hi to Josie: hope you are running those dunes today!

Have a good one..

Deb :)

Hi Deb, Linny, and Josie--

This morning I did 4ds LIS with shoulders, calves, and abs (66 min.).

Did anyone watch the DWTS finale? As I predicted ages ago, Kristi Yamaguchi won handily. She was already too good at the beginning, even though she says she is no dancer.

I never did get the Timesaver DVD. Maybe I should because I like the shorter cardio with weights thrown in. The 4ds combos are not exactly short, though, are they--70 min, 66 min., 58 min., and can't remember Bootcamp, but it's at least 60. I've never done a chemical peel, but I have been using retin-A for over 20 years and sunblock when I was still in my 20s because I had a really weird boyfriend who convinced me it was worthwhile. Mind you, this was when the stuff was barely developed and would often stain my clothes. I didn't know age spots could grow. I just thought they--unfortunately--multiplied.

This morning I cleaned out my drawers and bundled away a bunch of old t-shirts and turtlenecks for Goodwill. Everything gets all rumpled when it's crammed in there, so I am just keeping the things I know I will wear.

Hope the dayshift works for you Linny. I really could do almost all of the Christi Taylor DVD the first time out.

Hi Deb,Garance and Josie:

Deb; Looks like we'll be getting some rain here tonite. My flowers definitely need it. I notice I'm getting more age spots pretty some I'll have to use putty to cover them all.I never had a chemical peel, but heard some can be painful.I did have laser done around my nose for veins about 10 years ago and new ones are popping up.I think I need to start a comestic fund.I really would like to have sclerotherapy done on my legs again.I have noticed spider veins are increasing on back of legsx(
Garance:I only saw DWTS once or twice and also thought that Kristi has much more advanced then other stars.I actually thought she was one of the dancing teachers.I need to go through all my clothes and get rid of some.I have about 5 large tupperware bins of clothes that are size 0-5.Then another 5 bins in bedroom of size 5,7 and 8.I just keep hoping that I'll lose weight and be able to wear again. My Director is still waiting for nurse manager to get back to her about day shift position, she had to offer it to her first since she asked her to step down from her position. So now they are looking for a nurse manager too.I have never seen so many people come and go in one facility before. I'm on the schedule to work as only nurse tonite and hopefully corporate will ok another nurse to come in.Director says corporate looks at how many nuses are on for 24 hrs and tells them to adjust as needed. No wonder I have trouble sleeping.Have a good night ladies~Linny~

Good Morning & Happy Thursday!

Good Morning!

Today I did shoulders, biceps & triceps from PUB. I think this is the last week with the Pyramids.. ..I have to mix it up because I am no feeling like this is doing anything at this point..I can;t up the weights so I am at a platau with these excercises...off to join Garance in 4DS!

Garance:
Yes, I watched the finale of DWTS..I figured it would be Kristi too, and was really surprised that Jason made it that far. When Mario and Karina did their dance, I again wondered why he was off and someone like Marissa stayed.. I have Retin A too...I use it 3 times a week, or my face gets red and starts to peelx( . There are different levels of chemical peels, one very aggressive, it's one session, but has 7-10 days of down time, where it's like the worse sunburn you have ever had on your face, so bad that you don't even want to go outside...not for me!..the second is less, maybe 2 -3 days of down time, and the third, is 5 sessions, once a week, little redness etc. I will be asking more questions when I go to have the spot removed.. and yes they get bigger..these are not just discoloration..they actually are raised a bit, which is why I was concerned and went to get it checked out..the Derm DR told me he had a 70 yr old woman just in there with one the size of a quarter on the side of her face..it grew to that size before she decided to have it removed. Obviously the larger it is, the worse the removal.

Linny:
I have spider veins on my legs, just to the side of my knee..I would love to have those gone too! Don't you just hate having all those bins of clothes that you don;t want to get rid of? I did a sweep through them a couple of weeks ago and made up 6 large black bags of them and took them to the local AmVets. It felt really good to not be looking at this stuff anymore, plus it gave me a lot more room in my closets. Good luck with the day shift job!

Have a great day ladies!

Deb :)

Hi Deb, Linny, and Josie--

This morning I did 4ds Bootcamp with bis and tris (62 min.).

Gosh it's chilly here. I finally finished that multi-colored sweater and thought I would just put it away for next year (it's wool), but it's perfect for today. I believe it's supposed to warm up this weekend.

Do you (Deb, Linny, and Josie) all have Monday off? Any plans? We are having DH's parents over on Sunday, and then going to a cookout on Monday. I'd also like to go see the new Indiana Jones film, but if not, I have both Legend and Charlie Wilson's War at home from Netflix.

I'm with you, Deb, on not having to look at stuff that 1)doesn't fit anymore; 2) I never should have bought in the first place (What was I thinking?); or 3) looks like multiple other items (Why do I keep buying the same thing over and over again?). I also have a few things that look great on me, but I have no occasion to wear, and I keep them around, wondering if that occasion will ever come my way.

Anyone watch the American Idol finale last night? I was dancing around to the music part of the time.

I guess I will try to do some "serious" reading this afternoon--catching up on scholarship in my field.

By the way, Linny, I just received my MORE mag, and on the cover it says there is a big piece on HRT. I will check it out for you.

Hi Ladies,

I started getting a cold yesterday and do not feel good at all today.
I had to come to work because I have 2 meetings and could not cancell them. I will probably not work out tonight.

Deb, One of my friends had the extrem peel and it looked terrible and it took a while for her to recuperate. I had age spots on each of my cheecks and have been having the microdermabrasion & microcurrent treatments at least every other month. This woks for me. They seem to come back when I spend time in the sun.

Garance, I have Monday off and will spend the weekend working out and also cleaning the house for visitors. My DD will be graduating on May 29th and we will have a full house.

Linny, Have a great weekend!

Josie

Hi Deb,Garance and Josie:
Deb: That 5 session chemical peel sounds like the way to go.Tell us when and if you go and the results.I've been thinking on trying Retin A again.I did it in my 30's and my face kept peeling.I have a spot on the right next to eye which gets darker and bigger as years go by. I keep putting off the clothes because its takes me forever to figure out if I should keep it or give it away.I have some bins filled with clothes with price tags still on them.
Garnace: It was only in the 50's today.I can't wait till sunday its suppose to be in the high 70's.We are planning to bring boat to lake and put up the screen house there.I hope its warm enough that I don't break out in hives. We'll probably spend sat. and sunday night there.I'm hoping to see Indiana Jones this weekend too.I heard on the radio that it was great and his new sidekick was really good. Thanks for the info on More magazine,I'll have to check it out.Seems like these hot flashes are becoming more frequentx(
Josie:Sorry to hear about your cold.It stinks getting sick when a holiday weekend is coming.Hope you shake it before then.Congrats on DD graduation.
Tonite is like my friday nite.Tomorrow I'll come home lie down for 3-4 hours then up till bedtime.Off till my monday nite on.I lucked out on working the holiday, another nurse picked up Sun nite for me.I'm suppose to work 2 out of 3 holidays for summer. So I have to work 4th of July and I have off Labor day.Have a good night ladies~Linny~

Good Morning and Happy FRiday!

I am off today so my workout will be done a little later. I can sit here and have some coffee, while DH gets ready for work! I plan on doing one of my new I-Treads and the abs from Christie Taylor.

I really hope the weather improves. We want to go get flowers etc for the yard this weekend and get them in the ground!

Garance:
We have a high school graduation party Sunday, otherwise the weekend is "plan free" which is how I like it. We have had such awful weather this month, I feel like we were "gyped" ..no spring at all.
I have never watched American Idol...I am not a fan of singing, especially when they are not good! :) I am going to check out that More magazine. I was going to subscribe to it, but usually I only like one or 2 things in it, so I opted to pick them up when something interesting is in them.

Josie:
Sorry to hear you are under the weather..:-( . yes. microdermabrasion was another option that the DR mentioned. ^^Cudos to your DD! :D

Linny:
The spot I have is right on my temple. The DR said that these are common on the hairline. I use the Retin A 3 times a week, when I tried using it every day, my face was a mess! red and peeling. I think you are right on trying the multiple sessions if I do get the peel. They are very expensive and not covered by any insurance. One of the managers at work is married to a Buffalo police detective and his policy covers all cosmetic procedures, even pedicures! Unbelievable...this is what our taxes pay for..needless to say, she is continually getting something done. Regarding the clothes that we don;t wear, I felt so overwhelmed when I looked at them, and so much better once they were out of the house! Regarding the ones with tags, is there a consignment shop you can drop them off at? Maybe you can get some money for them and you won;t feel so bad about getting rid of them. Have fun at the lake, I hope your hive situation does not come back.

Have a great day!

Deb:)

Hi Deb, Linny, and Josie--

This morning I did "cackle and shriek" (you know who I mean), just under 60 min. I actually crack up at the beginning when she starts to talk.

Still chilly here, and I'm hoping for that warm-up, too, Deb. I want to plant some annuals, but it just feels more like early April here.
Sounds like everyone is going to have a "special" weekend, as long as hives, a cold, and the weather don't interfere with our plans.

Congrats Josie on your daughter! I bet she will be really missed at the other end of the country in the fall.

Oh--just burn those bridges behind you and get rid of that old clothing, Linny. I agree with Deb that it's depressing to keep the stuff around. If it still has the tags, maybe you can sell it on e-bay. I'm so weird about tags next to my body that I seam rip all of them out. It sometimes gets me in trouble when I cannot remember whether it is a washable item or not.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi Deb,Garance and Josie:

Deb: Hope you had a great day off.Have fun at that graduation party this weekend, hope weather behaves. When I got sclero and laser treatments they were not covered by insurance.I think I should change my profession and join the police force for the free comestic procedures. The clothes situation really needs a all day sit down of going through, its just finding the time.We did have a consignment shop down the street but it burned down last fall.
I am in need of BatBird. My DH told me he got up at 5am and all of a sudden something whooshed by his head.He said that it had a pretty big wing span.He was chasing around the house trying to make it fly outside. He almost lost it when it went upstairs.Luckily he was able to coax it out.I could just picture my husband chasing the bat then bat chasing him.I'm sure if the neighbors were awake and could see in the windows they were probably thinking he was cracking up.I would have been freaking out if I came home to that in my bedroom.Major heart attack! Well packing for the lake.Going to bring plenty of warm clothes just in case.
Garance:I did Lowmax parts 1-4 premix, tris from PUB and Abs.I wish I could work out like this everyday.Sun has been in and out all day.One minute its bright and sunny, next its raining.Suppose to be in 70's tomorrow and 80's Sunday. I did think about Ebay for clothes,I need to get DD over to help me set up an account and show me how to post pictures.
Josie:Have fun at graduation.Wear your waterproof mascara:)
Ladies have a great holiday weekend.I'll try to check in before I leave tomorrow.~Linny~
