Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 8/23

arrghhh``~~~~~ i sure didn't need to hear that!! it is still bakin' here 103 when i looked awhile ago. it is sooooo miserable!

i was sore for 3 days from plyo legs, i just did chest & back today, so i hope i can pick up a saddle tomorrow. i have to ride at a horse show fri. & sat. so, there will probably not be any workouts for me on those days. they are gonna be long and hard days. and, w/the heat, yuck! so, that is only 4 workouts for this week. i did fat blasting cardio today after disc 25. used 8" step and weight gloves for part of it. i was sweatin' like crazy. i may get in a short cardio in the morning, but i doubt is. so, ya'll have a good weekend, probably wont' be around til sunday.

Hi Garance, Deb, Josie and Cathy,

Thanks for all the good thoughts. Today was long with 3hrs at doctors office. Of course it takes longer getting Elliot and my mother anyplace so I have to start out early. We should get results tomorrow or Monday.
Elliot was an angel but ds did not come to pick her up until 6:15. Usually dil picks her up at 4 or 4:30. He did take us out to dinner so that was good. We decided to eat outside even though it looked like rain. Weather was perfect temperature and since we were the only ones out there Elliot could run around until the food came. I was glad because we didn't get her exercise in during the day.

Josie I missed the length of the bike ride during my first reading. San Fransisco to LA!!!!!!

Garance Is Physique 57 floor work for lower body? That's what works best for me. I thought the new Kelly CM 30 min to fitness Body Training looked good.

Hi Deb and Cathy.

I did Step Heat tonight.

Finally Friday!

Good morning~

I slept better last night, actually got 4 hours in before the first "wake up".. Then a couple more, another wake up, then got up at 5:20. I didn't even hear DH get up and take Keegan downstairs, which is rare for me. I worked all day yesterday in our warehouse unloading cartons of clothing and sorting into boxes etc for a large pick and pack customer that will be sending orders to us. We pick the styles, colors, sizes etc and then pack and ship them all over the country.

Garance, I am really tempted to order the workouts. Trying to figure out how to work them in with STS or other weight work.

Josie, yes, post the link! I will go over and look at the site today...

Cathy, good luck at the horse show! Hope it cools off a little for you.

Joan, glad you made it through that day. How nice your DS took you out to dinner! Little Elliot must be an angel to sit through all that waiting etc.

have a good day!

Happy Friday!

No wo for me today. Tomorrow is a Kevin wo and spinning and sunday just spinning.
I may go and get my new bike this weekend so that I can start training on the road.

Joan, the distance of the bike ride is 545 miles from San Francisco to LA and it is broken down between 70 to 90 miles per day. Every day is diffrent, but there is at least 5-7 rest areas during each day. The ride will start June 6th through the 12th.

Cathy, good luck with the hear this weekend. Keep hydrated.

Deb, I'm glad that you got some rest last night. We had a hellicopter hovering over our neighborhood last night and it was very loud.

Garance, I'm half way through the book and I love it. Any other suggestions?

Josie

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did Kelly C-M's Cardio Sculpt Fitness (70 min.). Once again I have doms in my butt and legs. Physique 57 leg work is really testing my muscles.

Joan, these are both standing and floorwork for the legs, but I would say mostly standing, holding on to the back of a chair, working one leg at a time. This must be what dancers do. You should go to the site and look at the excerpts from the routines. What an exhausting day for you! I don't suppose you could do any reading while sitting in the office waiting room with Elliot and your mom. That's usually what I do while I'm waiting. I always have a book with me.

Josie, I would recommend Richard Russo's Empire Falls and Straight Man. I just bought his new one, but I haven't tried it yet. I also loved Stieg Larsson's Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the sequel, The Girl Who Played with Fire. The heroine of these two is fascinating. There's one more I have pre-ordered at Amazon. If you want something really BIG, try the Ken Follett medieval books, Pillars of the Earth and World Without End. Oh--and Alice Hoffman has an earlier book called Practical Magic that is pretty good, too.

Sounds like a restful night for you, Deb. Hope you have a great weekend after such a tough work week. I am off to Jacob's Pillow again tomorrow--for the last time this summer. It sounds like more rain, though. Darn!

Cathy, Josie's right. Stay hydrated. I cannot fathom riding a horse in 100 degree weather.

Hi Garance,

I will keep the book list in my purse so that I have it handy next time I'm at the book store.

Thank you

Josie

see you later.....

Good evening,

I finally did 30 min on treadmill. That's all I could make myself do.

They don't have final lab results but she does have the papilloma virus. That has a number of variations from type 1 and 2 that are warts to slow and fast growing tumors.

Garance I liked the sample of physique 57 exercises. I'm afraid if I got it now I wouldn't do it. They are the type that I have found to be most effective.

I take lap top for Elliot to watch movies while we wait at doctor and I do take a book.

Joan
