Morning all,

Just starting us out. I did the Shoulders, Bicepes & Tricep workout from Meso 3 week 4...yes, I am attempting to do this week again! I will not say I am done with STS until I do every single workout.

DH and I are going to the local sporting goods store to get new running shoes, the ones I have look fine but it's been 3 years, so I know the arch support is not great anymore. After that we should work in the garden, and weed. We had so much rain these past few days, the weeds have taken over.

Joan, I feel for you, and know exactly how you feel..

Cathy, sounds like you had a great workout and a great day!

Garance, are you back yet?

Josie, how are the dunes today?

Have a great day!

Deb

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did Christi Taylor's Dance Fit (70 min.). I am starting my 4 weeks of circuits. I have out Kelly C-M's Cardio Sculpt, Cathe's Circuit Max, Cardio and weights, LIC, and a High Step circuit for this week.

Yep, I am back. We had a great time at the shore--only one rainy day, Thursday. Otherwise it was sun, bobbing in the waves, 3 mile walks, great food, and a lot of laughs. Great restaurant in Cape May--the Mad Batter. I really enjoy my sil and bil, and their kids are fun, too.

Dh is off to Foxboro to see Italian soccer this afternoon, so I am going to see Harry Potter with a friend, and then we will go out to dinner.

I will have to check last week's thread to see what all of you are up to.

Sounds like you are still going at meso 3 like a determined pit bull, Deb. I am not going back to STS for awhile. How is Kelsey? Is her hip out of the sling yet??

Hi to everyone! Oh--Josie, did you get your earrings yet? How are they?

Hi ladies,

I just finished disc 29 and 30 so I am caught up. I also added 1.5 miles on treadmill as part of Leslie's plan. I only burned 2020 calories so far today. It just doesn't seem fair.

Joan

Is it Monday Already?

Morning all,

This morning I did my first Cardio Coach workout. I have been resisting getting into these, as it means more money spent and I already have lots of I-Train workouts, but I was bored the other day and went to his site just to check things out.... Well, he was having a 20% off sale if you bought 2 of the workouts, who can resist a sale right? They are a little different from the I-Treads. He bases everything on heart rate, where in the I-Treads she tells you the speed to use.

Garance, Welcome Back! You are lucky that wherever you were, you had good weather. Last week was awful here. We had 3 inches of rain one day alone, then showers almost every day, except Friday. Love the name of that restaurant. Some people are so clever. :D..how did you like the Harry Potter movie? I have heard mixed reviews.

Kelsey got her sling off on Wednesday last week. She still holds the leg up, which the vet said is normal. She should start lightly putting it down any day, then she will gradually use it, we hope.

Joan, I can't believe you can do 2 STS workouts, and the treadmill in one day!. Over 2000 calories? was that for the duration of the workouts? That is pretty high. I usually burn between 200 and 300 for the STS workouts.

Hi to Josie & Cathy!

Have a good day,

Deb

Hi Ladies,

Welcome back Garance! I did not wo on Sunday, but I plan to go spinning tonight. I did not loose any weight, but did not gain. I had too much fun eating and drinking last week and I paid for it. I will watch my food intake this week.

Garance, I did get my earrings and they are beautiful. I will order from them again.
I started reading The Help last night and I can't wait to go home an read some more.

Deb, I'm gland that Kelsey is doing fine.

Joan, You are a maniac whet it comes to working out.

Cathy, How are you?

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did Circuit Max (65 min.). Phew! I forgot how tough this one is. I was really wet by the time it was over.

That's great news about Kelsey, Deb. I think you should have read the Potter book to appreciate this new film. I suspect it's hard to follow otherwise. Horcruxes and deatheater plots, etc. I loved it--but then I have read all but the last book 2 times. I plan on reading all of them again before the next film installment.

Wow, Joan, you are really a glutton for punishment on working out! That is a serious amount of exercise in one day. FYI--the two Leslie workouts I have that you can do music only are 4 Fast Miles and a really old 5 mile workout. My two others are "Cackle and Shriek" ala Leslie. I feel like I am working out with an especially ditzy Carmela Soprano because of that accent.

Hi Josie--sounds like you

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did Circuit Max (65 min.). Phew! I forgot how tough this one is. I was drenched by the time I finished.

Great news about Kelsey, Deb! I think you should have read the Potter book in order to enjoy the film. Horcruxes and plots against Dumbledore by the deatheaters and lots of complications with Slughorn might really be hard for Potter novices. But I have read all of these books twice, so I felt very much at home. Loved it.

Joan, the two Leslie workouts I have where you can do music only are 4 Fast Miles and a really old 5 miler. Otherwise it's "Cackle and Shriek" with Leslie. Because of the accent, I frequently feel like I'm exercising with Carmela Soprano. I must say, you sound like a glutton for punishment with all those workouts in one day!

Josie, I say eat, drink, and be merry every now and then. I had sushi for dinner last night, along with sake. Yum!

Cathy, your drought conditions are now national news. I thought of you when they showed how bad things are in south Texas this morning.

hi ya'll, well, i did disc 16 this am. i really like the back-off sets. then i did cardio from 4-day LIS again, love that workout. i did the last section 2x, the one where you do all 3 step combos. then , i worked this afternoon. i am really tired. cardio for me tomorrow.
have fun, cathy

well, ain't that nice? it is pretty bad down here, no rain in sight and still over 100 every day. kind of depressing. it is so funny , up north ya'll can't wait to see the sun and donw here, i get to where i hate seeing the sun come up in the morning. it is up at 7 and goes down like 7:30-8:00. it was still 98 when i checked a few minuites ago and it is almost 9.

well, sorry, don't mean to complain. PRAY for rain for use down here.
cathy

Good evening all,

Cathy I know what you mean about the sun. Normally the St Louis area is so hot and humid. This year it has been unusually nice.

Deb the 2000 calories is for the entire 24 hours of the day.

Josie since you are doing well with weight loss and exercise I think you deserve the break. You're only allowed one week off at a time.

Garance I don't want to spend any more money but it would probably be worth it to shut Leslie up.

I wanted to do something different so I opened The Biggest Loser Cardio Max. I've had it for quite a while but at least it was in the grocery discount bin. The people on the tape are from the 2006 or 2007 Biggest Loser before they lost all the weight. No one has good form and most of the time half started on the right and half started on the left. It was annoying to watch.

Joan

Tuesday

Good morning,

It is like a sauna here, very humid and it's only 5:00 am. I just finished a Cardio Coach workout.

Josie, all that working out and muscle allowed you to eat and have fun for a week, but you are smart to stop now. Take if from one who knows. After a week, the pounds start coming back. Every person I have recommended The Help to has loved it.

Garance, I believe I read the Potter book, but it was a long time ago, and I don;t remember them once I am done with them. The only one I didn't read was the last one. I heard some comment that the movie did not follow the book.

Cathy, I like those back off set too, but like the tri-sets in Meso 3 even better. Will pray for our rain to go to you!

Joan, You were up pretty late! I got that one Jillian workout, I have not tried it yet, but did view it, and I can see where she could get on your nerves after a few times watching it. I never watched that show. I was skipping around channels once and it was on...someone was crying because she didn;t get picked or something...I kept going..

Have a good day!...Deb

Good morning,

I forgot to report my results last night so thought I would now.

I have been very discouraged because I thought I was working hard but not losing any weight. I have been going between 166 and 164 since January. I finally measured. I have lost 2" in the waist, 2" in the hips and 1 1/4" in both thighs. Yea:D

Back later with wo.

Joan

Good Morning Ladies,

I did not wo yesterday, I realized that I had nothing in the refrigerator for dinner and I had to go to the maket and stock up. Today is circuit training plus cardio.

Joan, I'm with you on the inches. Everyone tells me that I look thin and that is what counts. I'm still at 166.

Cathy, I Know how you feel I used to live in El Paso, Texas and Tucson Arizona.

Deb, I have been doing well with my eating so far. It does not take much to undo all of the hard work.

Garance, I'm enjoying the book very much.

Josie

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did Cathe's Cardio and Weights (60 min.). I had forgotten how much I enjoyed this one. Much easier than Circuit Max.

Deb, it's pretty humid here as well, but I am thankful for a bit of summer. Finally, up in the 80s. On the Potter film, it follows things selectively from the book. The problem is that the Half-Blood Prince was a very long book, and there was simply no way it could include everything. I loved the last book--I took it to the Jersey shore a couple years ago and finished it on the beach--sobbing! I am hopeful that the final two films will be able to include a lot of what happens. The final battle should be worth the price of admission.

I finished the Plath and food piece before I left on vacation and now I have to get started up again on another chapter. I always fumble and procrastinate at the beginning. Then I feel guilty and dig in my heels.

So glad you love that book, Josie. I, too, have passed it around, and everyone gets hooked. What is really impressive to me is that it is her first book.

Joan, Leslie has another 4-miler where she asks a fellow walker--Marilyn--to take over for her for awhile, and it is shocking because Marilyn has this mellifluous voice compared to Leslie. If I were Leslie I would hire her for voiceovers!

So sorry that your land is so parched, Cathy, because around here it's squishy and soggy. Just one downpour after another.

howdy, i did "Better Burn, Better Buns" (tracie long). kind of an interval, functional, med. ball workout. good workout. i love tracie's workouts.

and ya'll can quit hoggin' the rain:)

A Wonderous Wednesday!

Good morning!

I just finished STS #40, legs of Meso 3, week 4. One more workout to go and I will have finally finished STS. I still have not decided what to do next. I like Josie's Kevin rotation, using circuits, it sounds like it is working, but circuit training is probably my least favorite type of workout. I also have the Jillian Michaels one that I have not tried yet. Not sure if I can listen to her for a month! I may do that STS rotation that I have seen posted, called Undulating...where you do Meso 1, week 1, then Meso 2, week 1 etc...

Joan, it sounds like whatever you are doing is working! Inches are more important that numbers on the scale.

Josie, I can't imagine doing a circuit workout and then a cardio workout, but again I forget that you are our gazelle!

Garance, Cardio & Weights was one of the first Cathe workouts I bought. I could never get the step routine down so I sold it on Ebay. You know, now that you mentioned it, I did read the last Potter book, it was the last movie before this one I did not see. I distinctly remember the very end of the book. Did you get your item from that site?

Cathy, I am sending ((RAIN)) prayers your way!

Have a good one!

Deb

hey deb, i did disc 17 today and that is tri-sets, then like a dummy i did the firm's power half hour, and now my body it FRIED!!!! now i have a jillion things to do and a class tonite. so, see ya'll later.

Hi Ladies,

My workout went well last night and I was surprised this morning when I weighed myself.
I lost 1.5 pounds. I'm now at 164. Todays is a spinning day.

Cathy, I'm also praying for some rain to come your way.

Deb, you are right about the inches. My waist and hips look a lot smaller now.

Garance, Did you get your ring?

Jose

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did Cathe's LIC (73 min.). I never did this as a circuit before--I always used the all-cardio premixes. I was impressed by how tough it was, and amazed that Cathe and crew do it on an 8-inch step.

Deb and Josie--yes, I received my ring before I left on vacation. It's really beautiful--a big chunk of blue lapis in 18 karat gold. I am tempted to go to that site again as a way of procrastinating. MUST WRITE!!

Congrats to all of you inch-losers! I wish I could do something about my thighs. No results from STS that I can see.

I watched the Today show this morning and Kathie Lee and Hohde (sp?) were in San Antonio. Have you been there, Cathy? It looked like a great vacation spot.
