Pentagenarians & Beyond W/B 6/28

Thursday!

Good Morning!

I just finished STS chest & back. I repeated last week's STS workout, and now that I did that, I am glad I didn;t do the 6 month rotation. One more day until the weekend. Is everyone off on Friday?

Joan, now when you say that you go to bed at 4:00 am and are up at 8:00, I cringe, thinking "how does she do that", but I am just on the other side of the spectrum. I usually go to bed between 8:30 and 9:00, read for a bit, maybe until 10:00, then try to sleep until 4:10. At least that what the alarm is set for. Most mornings I wake up around 4:00 and just get up. You sure have some dedicated reunion folks! I did not go to any of my reunions. I was not very social in HS, couldn't wait to get out. Did your DH get checked out? I hope nothing serious!

Garance, now you will have chicken for quite a while I assume? You must have a big freezer, with all the meat and now chicken DH raises. I have read all the Robert Crais series (Elvis Cole) really like them. Cathe time is so that you can set your own time zone based on Greenwich...I think ours is Greenwich minus 5, or 4 depending on whether it is DST or not.

Josie, safe trip to SD!

Hi Cathy!

Have a great day!

Hi Ladies,

No wo for me today. I will be on the road to SD, my DS arrives at noon. I can't wait to see him and catch up with him. I will do my Kevin wo on Friday and Spinning on Saturday and Sunday. We don't have any plans for the weekend.

I will be leaving work early, so have a great weekend everyone!

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did disk 33 (59 min.) for the second time for bis, tris, sh. Next week I do the final week of STS.

Darn--we were supposed to go to Saratoga Performing Arts Center today for a picnic on the grounds and a performance by the NYC Ballet. Instead, it is pouring rain, flooding everywhere, soggy, soggy, soggy. I did go to see the Georgia O'Keefe exhibit though. Really wonderful. She is definitely one of my favorites.

Deb, maybe the Michael Connelly series with detective Harry Bosch? I love the Elvis Cole mysteries too and his friend, Pike.

No plans for the fourth of July because we are praying for dry weather so DH can exhaust himself cutting hay.

Enjoy your ds Josie!

rats, ya'll can't get rid of the rain, and we can't get any.
today i did disc 8, and the firm's pump, jump,& jab.

ya'll have a great holiday weekend, don't have any plans. i have found july 4th evening is a good day to go to walmart. LOL! no one is there.

Good evening all,

Since nurse called with results of regular check up, I had her call dh. She got him to admit to the problem. The doctor called him back and said if it happens again to make an appointment. I'm not sure about that but he has been back to gym twice and had no problem with cardio.

I'm trying to pack and none of the cute summer clothes I bought last fall fit. I ate some potato salad and am really bloated but I don't know if that is the only problem. I can't remember if they almost fit when I bought them and I planned to lose inches. Or my waist is really 4 inches bigger from the bloat. At least that's what it feels like. I guess it's back to the mom jeans and the t shirts.

Garance Sorry the rain ruined the picnic.

Hope you have a good 4th. I'll be back late Sunday the 12th.

Joan

Happy "3rd of July"

Good Morning,

I am off today, so happy! No plans, just stuff around here. I will do a cardio workout when DH leaves for work. He is working 1/2 day today, then we will be going for Mexican food for lunch. Better up the cardio:rolleyes:

Josie, safe trip!

Garance, yes the weather here has been horrible too, rainy, dreary, etc. This has not been a good summer so far. I spoke with others that work in our Blaine Wa, office yesterday and they said they have had the best summer in a long time, beautiful temps, sunny every day..mmmm what is happening on this side of the country? It looks like it will be you and me here for the weekend..;)

Cathy, have fun at Walmart! Do they do a lot of fireworks near you?
Being on the Canada/US border, the Canadians celebrate their Canada Day this week ( it was Wednesday) and this weekend we hold The "Friendship Festival" right on the border where both countries do fireworks, parties etc

Joan, have a fun trip!

Have a good day!

Hi Deb and Cathy--

This morning I did 4 fast miles with Leslie (50 min.). Thank goodness she has an audio only option on this one because she is really annoying--probably the worst of her cackle and shriek episodes. She also does this really weird thing with a large bobble-head of James Brown.

Deb, the sun is really trying to come out here today. Yesterday was the worst--so gray it felt more like late fall when the days are getting shorter.

Dh and I are going to see the Sandra Bullock film, The Proposal, tonight. Looks like a bit of fun.

Enjoy your day off, Deb!

i'm sorry,ya'll, i can't remember your name.

fox2star, where do you live? and we do do fireworks, but we are so horribly dry, that they will probably be banned except maybe downtown san antonio. i don't like them anyway, so i really don't care. but, if anyone does them out here the sheriff will be out like a shot. just way too dry. like have a yard full of kindling. we will have some bad fires if people shoot them off.

hope everyone has a nice weekend. staying home , doing nothing.

Happy 4th of July!

Hi all,

I hope everyone is having a good day. It is sunny here, but a little chilly right now. No wo today for me, it's my rest day.

Cathy, I am in Buffalo NY, right on the Canadian border. It is against the law to do fireworks on your own in NY state, The events that I was speaking of are done by the cities on each side of the border. We are ok as far as fires go etc. Not dry at all here. It basically rains at least once a day.

Garance, how was the movie? Are you having anyone over today, grilling?

Well worry -wort that I am, it looked like Kelsey's foot was slipping out of her hip sling. Of course being the holiday, our vet is closed and the only option would be to wait until next week to get it checked, or take her to the emergency vet. My concern was for her hip, if it is slipping, it may affect how it heals....so, off to the emergency vet we go this morning. This is the place where she dislocated it to begin with. Good news was the vet there said it looked fine to her, that she could not do any better than it was now...whew...that took a load off my mind. As John says, I am obsessed...he's right of course.

Have a good one!

it rains once a day?????? is that normal? must be nice.

well, we can do fireworks here if we are not in the city, but not this year. we are on a major burn ban. it was 99' at 8pm and a very hot, dry wind blow all the time. it is quite miserable. i cannot wait for this summer to be over!
